So Jim ran into Creed on Casino Night? The Office just Out-Losted Lost.
Good thing too, because really NOTHING happened this episode. I mean, the co-op talking head between Jim and Dwight was nice, and the twist on Stanley's earlier verbal beatdown on Ryan was inspired, but everything else was flat. And a TBC? In 2K9?? COME ON!
I don't mean to seem like I care about material things (like a social status,) I just want four walls and adobe slabs for my girls
Episode benefits from no Jack Black and Cloris Leachman. Greatly enjoyed, enjoyed greatly. Plus I know in my heart that Jim was better off with Karen so I'm always glad to see her.
Michael: "I'm trying to remember the last time you slept with Jim."
The focus off of PB&J and more Stanley and more Creed can only yield good things.
Michael setting the pledge of allegiance to Old MacDonald had me rolling. Incidentally, I'm bald, and my first name is Bryan, so Michael has got something there.

Well, the episode did have a Squeaky Frome reference...
We all have ways of coping. I use sex and awesomeness.
no offense - and I won't even say "F'N SHAPIRO" (or you too), but...please put "The {show name}" title in the thread. Grazi. Help to the idiots, as we am

Demonstrations are a drag. Besides, we're much too high

I second this. If you're starting a thread, and you're already on the Internets, would it have been so hard to Google the episode title (The Office 5x14 - "Lecture Circuit - Part 1", took 5 seconds)? Were you just in a phenomenal rush to complain about a perfectly good episode?
No comments yet on just how good Ed Helms is as Andy? On a show with so many strong, extreme and bizarre personalities, Andy has really become a valuable member of the cast. Last week I thought he had a phenomenal line about how he wasn't insightful enough to be a critic because Pam and Jim discussing Pam's parents' divorce sounded like genius to him. This week his little subplot trying to kiss the new client stole the show for me.
My favorite joke was Pam throwing the mini Mounds bars at the Utica group. Great callback to my favorite episode of the series, "Business School", which also ended with Pam and Michael together in a nice little emotional beat. Michael was the only one to go to Pam's art show and praise her drawing of the office, and Pam remembered and now wants to facilitate Michael getting closure with Holly. Or maybe she just doesn't want to sit through another Michael speech disaster.
"Screw you!"
"JUST TELL US WHAT KIND OF CAKE YOU WANT, IMBECILE!"
A lot of boob-related humor this week - Sugar Boobs, Michael asking if Karen needed to "pump", Michael suggesting Pam should lose the shirt under her new cardigan, Michael & Pam discussing Holly's boobs.
I can actually relate to Michael nicknaming everyone. When I first started my last job and met 30 people the first day, I had 'hairball', 'badbreath', 'lazy eye', 'mullet', etc. No sugarboobs or black woman, tho.
Once again, Michael's speakerphone-cough breaks through. That never gets old.
I can't wait for the payoff with the birthday storyline. It should be killer. Dwight and Jim are TERRIBLE. It's a car wreck waiting to happen, and I can't wait to see it unfold.
So, is the hatchet buried between Pam and Karen? Great scenes with those two.
So, why are they making this a two part episode when they frequently run hour long super-sized episodes on a regular basis? Is the payoff so large that it benefits a continuation?
Shane Spear is one of our preeminent thread titlers. It was probably an artistic choice.

Andy has become so crucial that it's easy to forget that he didn't show up until the second full season. I also forgot that the whole wedding thing seemed to be building up to him having a big angry relapse, and instead they did the breakup in another direction (probably a better one since vulernable AB was so sweet).
Did anyone know that Creed is on the $3 bill? I know I didn't. Also I expected him, with his black suit, to dissapear in a puff of smoke and laugh hysterically after he gave Andy advice.

Seconded.

YES! I'm very pro-Karen, and that bothers all my friends who watch The Office. Well, except one friend who sorta looks like Karen. She's pro-Karen too.

Yes! Something about the way she just flung them slayed me.
Michael has not been this obnoxious since "Phyllis' Wedding" and I absolutely loved it.
Excellent episode.
My only complaint is their half-assed attempt to make it look like winter-- little patches of snow here or there with fully bloomed green trees and shrubbery in the background. The sunny weather has become really distracting. I don't know how they can solve this problem except by shooting scenes in Scranton or anywhere in the Northeast- which is highly unlikely.

I think the exact opposite. I thought the Super Bowl ep was one of the best ones I'd ever seen, this one had some funny moments, but nothing that made me 'LOL'. Of all the episodes to have as a two parter this isn't the one I'd have hoped would do it.
I'm also not a fan of Karen, she's just a drag.
I did like the Jim and Dwight party planners, and Michaels nickname game. The Nard Dog is a nice nickname as well.
I hate Shrek. I'll never watch another Shrek movie after the first one. But count me in as a Sky High supporter. Sky High is a damn good family-friendly superhero movie.
