The New Wave Of American Heavy Metal is coming...

Killswitch Engage, Chimaira, Shadows Fall and God Forbid are all touring together this summer.

I'm not sure about in the US, but I believe they're doing the European festival circuit as well as an extended tour of the UK, kicking off in Exeter(about an hour on the train from me) on June 8th. Which just so happens to be my birthday. And is two days after Metallica headline Donington, which I shall also be attending.

I think this will be one of the better birthdays I've had, considering I saw AC/DC on my 19th.

ADDITIONAL: I would like to add to this, by saying that Anthrax have confirmed for London on June 12th.

So that's;

June 5th/6th - Download festival (Metallica, Slayer, Machine Head + others)
June 8th - NWOAHM tour in Exeter.
June 12th - Anthrax at London Astoria.

Oh my...

I know Chimaira is touring with Slipknot and Fear Factory in the spring. They're part of the Jagermeister Music Tour. I don't know who they'll be with in the Summer, and pollstar doesn't have anything listed after May.

So, does Anthrax have a new bassist, or was the news of Frankie Bello's firing just a rumor?

Anthrax has aquired Joey Vera to handle bass duties for their touring commitments.

I've forgotten what other band he plays in.

Joey Vera was/is (?) in Armored Saint. Scott Ian also said recently that Anthrax isn't planning to audition any new bass players so maybe he'll be staying longer than previously planned or they are hopeful that things can be worked out soon with Frank Bello.

Dammit..they can't fire Frank Bello. Isn't he Charlie's nephew or something like that? "Got the Time" just won't be the same.

Who is left in Anthrax from the original lineup? I remember back to the days of Dan Lilker then he went and formed Nuclear Assault.

Flashback moment: The day I graduated from High School I received my Nuclear Assault demo. Sat there through the ceremony listening to the demo on my Walkman. That was cool.

I think it's just Scott and Charlie left now. And yes, Frank is Charlie's nephew. That's gotta be rough.

Also, I believe that Dan Lilker found religion years ago, went to Europe to study watchmaking, and ended up choosing that as his current career.

If that's who I think you're referring to, then Metal Sludge's Penis Chart confirms this. THERE'S a source for ya.

Actually they did an interview with him. But I believe the watchmaker is Dan SPitz

I may be in the minority on this, but I think the last three full-length Anthrax records were great. I would rather hear those than any of the older stuff.

That said, I am looking forward to the new DVD with all pre-Bush songs.
Anyone else?

I think WE COME FOR YOU ALL is the best METAL CD put out last year. Its simply a great fucking CD. Too bad mainstream media wont play it, and too bad they cant get on a decent tour to get some attention to the fact that they are still able to kick the shit out of 98% of the worlds metal bands.

Hell yeah! I think that the stuff they've done with Bush is way better than anything they did with Belladonna.

Shit, that's right. They also did a 20Q's with Lilker too. Oh, and Neil Turbin while we're at it.

DO THE MATH!

I also agree on how great the last couple of albums were. I liked Joey Belladonna as their singer, but their work with John Bush has been pretty great too.

Andino Suns are a great live band and you should definitely go see them if you're able.
