The Nintendo Revolution

Nintendo hasn't released full specs yet, but so far it's known that it plays GameCube games, uses its own 12cm Optical Disks, will fully support high definition gaming, has free online play out of the box, and that gamers will be able to download classic Nintendo games ranging from "Donkey Kong to Super Mario Sunshine" from Nintendo's online service.

=D

Too little too late for Nintendo, but it's ABOUT FUCKING TIME that one of the big three brought an "if you can't beat 'em, adopt 'em" emulation approach to the States.

At least people can't complain now that Nintendo belongs in the Fischer-Price toy catalog ... Nice and "techy"-looking, good job Nintendo!

For those that donít know, the Tiger Mask character was based on a Japanese cartoon, so Misawa stepping out of that and becoming the best wrestler in his country would be kind of like Chris Benoit doing a Darkwing Duck gimmick and then becoming the Chris Benoit we all mark over. - AWC

GameCube titles have "the potential" to be downloadable, though it's not clear whether the games will be saved to a storage devices or memory cards.

Did anyone else read this and immediately think "New Super Smash Bros. Melee updates"?

Smash Brothers Melee updates? At todays pre-E3 press conference the President of Nintendo announced that one of the launch titles for the Revolution would be Smash Brothers ONLINE! Not to mention that online gaming would be completely free on the Revolution.

Commence drooling. =D~

Personally, I'm thinking it's beautiful and simple, but not sure if the public will go for it. Blue light is sexy.

The boxy hardware is a prototype according to Nintendo's E3 presentation. The actual box will be even smaller.

But I hope they keep it very simple and elegant like this one.

Bah! Where's the fun if you can't be the bad guy? I tried it out last night, and it's not bad. Not great, but then again, I never really had much patience for MMOs.
