One more heads up for wrestling fans before it's inevitably taken down by WWE. I'd been looking forward to seeing what they do with these tapings with FCW talent.

Not sure how to embed videos here, sorry.

Use the CKEditor to embed videos!

I really lke the stage setup for this show. Very simple, almost elegant.

I really liked the intro for The Ascension, and could see the short haired guy using it for a singles run. Very nice.

Husky Harris didn't need a new name and gimmick and his brother is incredibly dull and can barely talk. Aside from that, I enjoyed the show. Nice announce team in JR and Regal. I'll miss how NXT had become as much a playground as a proving ground, but Bateman and Curtis are still around, and I'm sure Maxine'll pop up. I'll proceed with an open mind.

Oh, I forgot to mention how silly The Ascension's gimmick is; "The Ascension Rises" is hilariously tautologous.

Paige ( Britani Knight ) vs. Sofia ( Ivelisse ) will be on episode 3. And My good friend Miss Buggy Nova has officially debuted at FCW so I'm hoping that within the next couple rounds of tapings she makes it on to the show!

We were waiting for an "official" posting from WWE but it looks like NXT may no longer exist to them after checking wwe.com...

Well that's gone. Is this new format called NXT Redemption or is it called something else? I'll want to try to look up another vid of the show.

I put a different YT embed in post #1 but if THAT one goes, here's a Dailymotion one:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xroako_wwe-nxt-2012-06-20th-hd-full-show_sport

Dailymotion will sometimes insert an ad at every five minute mark, but sometimes they don't.

Because they use iframes and we don't allow iframes in posts, we can't embed them here.

I gave this a shot and this is exactly what NXT should have been to begin with. No silly angles, no dopeyness with Matt Striker, no interaction with top-tier pros to highlight how "green" they are, and DEFINITELY no Cole & Matthews to bury the participants every five seconds. This was a good intro to new wrestlers, decent matches, and JR & Regal to give good backstory and talk up the talent.

Oh man, I couldn't disagree more on this. This gimmick RULES! It's been a while since we've had a team with an intimidating "Road Warriors" vibe. The only aspect of this gimmick that misses is with the individual names. Everything's all dark and scary until you realize you're dealing with two guys named Kenneth Cameron and Conor O'Brian.

And needless to say, this is a thousand steps up from the LAST idea this company had for Conor O'Brian.

Are you talking about "man with troubled background but heart of gold" or "crazy rat dude", cos I'll take The Ascension over the former, but not the latter.

NXT continues to be the only WWE show worth watching. Less is more, folks. I like it and hope that someone keeps posting SUPER ILLEGAL VIDEOS so that I can keep enjoying it.

Let's not go crazy using 25 cent words to browbeat a professional wrestling gimmick. It is, after all, a professional wrestling gimmick.

But if we're going to get technical: "rising ascension" would be a tautology. But the team is called The Ascension. Used in this context, "Ascension" becomes a proper noun, which makes the application of "rises" as a verb (arguably) acceptable. Either way, who cares? They look great and mean and it's a good old school kick-ass Road Warriors type gimmick (as It's False noted), and it seems to fit them well.

Johnny Curtis is great and I don't know why he hasn't been called up yet. He's got a tremendous (and unique) character and from what I've seen from him he's pretty good in the ring.

Bo Dallas reminded me of the "eager youngster" type that promotions always used to try to shove down fans' throats. It makes me sort of like him, in a nostalgic sense.

I dug the Kidd/McGillicutty main event (God, why can't we just call him Hennig?). Even though I hate the Dungeon Lock. It looks goofy, like a guy in his first jiu-jitsu class trying to come up with a hold. You can get away with stuff like boston crabs in pro wrestling, but there's that uncanny valley where you try to approach MMA type stuff and it just looks...bad.

NEEEERDS!!!

Kidding. I found an upload and got to watch the episode.

I kinda liked the silly storylines of NXT's last season. The quadrangle of Maxine/Bateman/Kaitlyn/Curtis was gold. My fear for this new NXT was that any and all story would be dropped, in favor of a cut and dry strictly match format like Superstars. I hope that won't be the case because giving none of these guys angles would only keep them stale in the viewers eyes.

The Asenscion.... dude I like them! I always liked Connor O'Brien's "ratboy" gimmick ever since I first heard him say Pee-Wee Herman. This gimmick is kinda Underworld Wrestlecrap silly but they carry it well. Plus the barrage of elbow drops was tremendous!

Elevate Johnny Curtis to the main shows already! I half expected him to come out of that bathroom stall with a questionably young looking female fan, adjusting her clothes and running off embarrassed. He has to much fun being a dirty perv.

On hearing that NXT had changed and apparently vanished from WWE.com, I immediately checked my local listings to see if it still aired in Canada. Lo and behold it does, so the show is still reaching one international market at least. Where else is it airing if it's no longer on their website?

I only had time to watch the first two segments, but let me tell you it's refreshing as hell to have JR and Regal on commentary.

The commentary was indeed great.

Seth Rollins' promo video was well delivered but completely lacking in substance. He talked about not wanting to be like anybody else, and yet he looks like CM Punk without the tattoos. I don't see the point in airing something like that as it's just a waste of time. But the delivery was good so as soon as Rollins gets some direction, he'll probably be fine.

Bray Wyatt's promo video was one of the best things I've seen in wrestling lately. I'm not sure how well that character will translate to wrestling angles, but that promo was perfectly creepy and intriguing.

I tried to watch it. The main event was good, but yea this isn't NXT.

I wanted the greatness of NXT combined with Jim Ross commentating it. Instead I just got a solid wrestling show. It's like it started off at 8/10, and after trading the pluses and minuses, ended up at 8/10, but generic.

I probably benefit from having missed all of the surreal, insider NXT years, since I haven't watched since halfway through Season 2 (I blame Percy Watson). I liked this. I already like it much better than Smackdown.

This reminded me, more than anything, of WCW Saturday Night, and I mean that in a wholly complimentary way. The Ascension ruled in every way (except their individual names, as has been already noted) and I can't wait to see them do the full entrance on a RAW. Husky 2.0 seems awesome, based on just the promo, and I always liked him in the ring.

And why in the world William Regal hasn't replaced Jerry Lawler yet, I have no idea, except that he might just lose it and slap the Regal Stretch on Michael Cole at some point...

A thousand times this. The Ascension is the best tag team name in fucking years, the gimmick is dark, different & cool but then you have fucking loser NXT names.

It makes ANOTHER renaming the kid of a famous wrestler's last name while still using their family legacy ("My dad is Mike Rotundo, so my last name is Dallas for some reason") seem brilliant by comparison. Kenneth Cameron isn't a *horrible* name in another gimmick, but Conor O'Brian is one of the worst they've ever done.

I do kinda have a gripe with the production of the episodes. It looks so low budget compared to the old NXT's and other WWE show's glossy looks. It looks too indie for me and this is coming from a guy who loved watching Chris Hero, Punk, Samoa Joe, D-Bry, etc back in ROH years ago.

Man, there are some days I am glad to be Canadian. You Yanks can have WWE Superstars on Hulu or Youtube or whatever...we'll take NXT on The Score anyday.

I loved the show. I thought it was fresh, fantastic, and incredibly fun. I can't wait to see Seth Rollins in action, I can't wait to see Ritchie Steamboat, I can't wait to see everyone.

What was the finish to McGillicutty/Kidd? My recording cut out toward the end.
