The Nets have their eyes on a Blazers All-Star big man for the second straight offseason. According to league sources, the Nets and Portland have discussed swapping Kerry Kittles and Aaron Williams for Shareef Abdur-Rahim. While nothing is imminent, the Blazers are looking to trade their unhappy forward, who will receive $14.6 million in the final year of his contract.
Kidd, Jefferson, Abdur-Rahim, Martin, Collins (or Mourning if the rumors have any truth.)
This could work if this trade happens. The issue with the Nets is that with the Mourning kidney surgery and other factors, it was still the same team as last year whereas others (Detroit and Indiana) became much better.
The free-agent signing period in the NBA won't officially start until Wednesday, July 11, but some deals have already reportedly been made and are just waiting for the ink on the contract: Seattle forward Rashard Lewis, who averaged a career-best 22.
