The Nets have their eyes on a Blazers All-Star big man for the second straight offseason. According to league sources, the Nets and Portland have discussed swapping Kerry Kittles and Aaron Williams for Shareef Abdur-Rahim. While nothing is imminent, the Blazers are looking to trade their unhappy forward, who will receive $14.6 million in the final year of his contract.
Kidd, Jefferson, Abdur-Rahim, Martin, Collins (or Mourning if the rumors have any truth.)
This could work if this trade happens. The issue with the Nets is that with the Mourning kidney surgery and other factors, it was still the same team as last year whereas others (Detroit and Indiana) became much better.
Should have been to an NBA title. I still contend to this day that the Kings got screwed by the refs in those last two games of that series with the Lakers, especially in that Game 6 that should have settled the thing.
