The Nets have their eyes on a Blazers All-Star big man for the second straight offseason. According to league sources, the Nets and Portland have discussed swapping Kerry Kittles and Aaron Williams for Shareef Abdur-Rahim. While nothing is imminent, the Blazers are looking to trade their unhappy forward, who will receive $14.6 million in the final year of his contract.
Kidd, Jefferson, Abdur-Rahim, Martin, Collins (or Mourning if the rumors have any truth.)
This could work if this trade happens. The issue with the Nets is that with the Mourning kidney surgery and other factors, it was still the same team as last year whereas others (Detroit and Indiana) became much better.
I like the line that someone used on Grantland but how much of a coincidence it is that the franchise that knows the most about about how much marketing money you can make with a Chinese star on their team ended up with a Chinese star on their team.
