In recent years, the WWE has pretty much forgotten about the mid-card and primarily focused on its world titles. Lately (especially on Raw, the best matches have not involved the usual apperances of Randy Orton, John Cena, Triple H and other names at the top of the WWE food chain but have been focused around the US Title.

It helps that MVP, Kofi, Swagger, The Miz and a few others are putting on solid matches that almost make me forget about how boring it is to see the "usuals" go for the WWE Championship.

Thoughts and Analysis:

Smackdown overall has been better than Raw and it's mixture of the mid-card and World Title keeps it more interesting now. On Raw however, the US Title is becoming more unpredictable of who can actually win it or retain for that matter. More of the people in the US Title race are some of the people that the WWE wants to push later on in the main-event scene.

I am glad to see the US Title becoming relevant and the people involved are solid in-ring performers. This is the way the WWE used to push its wrestlers in the past when they first went through the mid-card then to the main-event scene.

I think if Smackdown had a couple more pretty solid performers, the IC belt would be worth watching (insert Finlay, have Morrison back in the IC race before they start his major push and maybe one or two more.....after all, Rey Mysterio is in hot water with the WWE now).

Your thoughts and opinions............

The mid-card on Smackdown is definitely getting more time than Raw, and I think the IC Belt is already worth watching; Rey and Ziggler have been having a solid feud and they had a great match at the last PPV. Even the ECW mid-card is shining, with feuds between Burchill and Helms, Benjamin and Ryder, and even Goldust and Sheamus, which main evented ECW last night, and deservedly so. The booking of the mid-card on Raw is just too inconsistent for me to praise right now (especially how they've handled guys like The Miz and Evan Bourne).

The RAW midcard has to see someone move up for a title feud before the end of the year. At least one PPV match. Orton/Hunter/Cena is dullsville, and practically any of the US contenders could move up well.

Even when Batista comes back, well, we've seen him fight the current main-eventers before. It's been done, and a big, novel angle is necessary to make their subsequent matches interesting.

I can agree with that statement for the most part with Smackdown and ECW creating better mid-card feuds. One of the main reasons I think the mid-card level on Raw is good is because the main people in the US Title chase right now are having new rivalries and they have to rely on their skills instead of their big market name such as the top dogs for the WWE Championship.

As for The Miz and Evan Bourne, they are now creeping up the ladder. Miz no longer jobs to Cena and Evan Bourne will be having a rivalry with Chavo which should help elevate him gradually and hopefully into the US Title chase sometime soon. We should also mention that Carlito is a solid performer as well ( I think a feud between Carlito and Bourne would be better).

Ziggler is quickly becoming a top mid carder on Smackdown and the feud between him and Rey has been pretty solid. I think Carlito should go back to Smackdown and be a top-tier mid-carder instead of falling on the empty promises the WWE has given to Carlito.

As for now, all 3 brands are creating a better mid-card level which is good instead of seeing the usual names for the WWE Championship and or World Title who normally take the headlines week-in and week-out.

I think Carlito should go back to Smackdown and be a top-tier mid-carder instead of falling on the empty promises the WWE has given to Carlito.

Carlito sleep-walked through his entire run of his initial move to Raw up to teaming w/ his brother, which was the only time he looked motivated in a long time. Plus, he's really not that good at all. The only reason they haven't let him go is because the company wants to remain on his dad's good side business-wise. It's not so much "empty promises" on behalf of the WWE, it's that Carlito hasn't done anything to warrant getting a big push.

Primo is the one they should be pushing from that pairing. In his limited time, he's shown way more promise than Carlito, and while still a little green, he's much more fluid in the ring than his brother and his shuffly-footed springboard moves.
