I'm glad that Benoit is now on RAW because it makes this match more possible. I don't know why these guys aren't fighting. I hope they just book an IC title match or something between these two on RAW. I was hoping this match would take place at Vengeance, but no such luck. However if these 2 went at it in Summerslam I'd definitely check it out. I don't care if its disapointing or not I just reall want to see how their styles would go against each other. How would RVD go after Benoit? How would Benoit try to take apart RVD? I just hope this match happens sooner than later.

It would be a good pairing. Benoit would probably controlmost of the match, and Rob would hit his spots every now and then.

If you can be bothered to think about the psychology should Benoit attack the neck/shoulders to set up the crossface or the leg to ground RVD though?

Haha, it would just be another WWE brawl but a bit better than most :)

Hell... I've been clamoring for this match since RVD first turned my head in the WWF during the Invasion, and that match is looking more likely all the time. They're both on the same show, about the same place on the card, and RVD's a face while Benoit is a heel.

Not only would I like to see a match between these two, I'd like to see a feud between these two. If WWE is smart, the feud would be similar to the Benoit-Jericho feud in that it would be impossible to pick the winner of a certain match without really having to guess. One reason the Benoit-Jericho feud paid off so well was that it was unpredictable in that way.

Of course, Chris Jericho's mic skills in no small part helped the feud achieve true greatness, and neither Benoit nor RVD are at Jericho's level when it comes to mic work. Nevertheless, I think a feud between these two would be a refreshing addition to RAW, and if it happened, I would have two reasons to make sure I catch RAW every week.

What, you couldn't get a paleontologist to get a couple of these fossils cleared? You couldn't get enough guys off a dialysis machine to get a team?”

While I would like to see these two face each other in the future, I think we'll only see it way after this next pay per view, with proper build-up. The way it should be. Something like a Benoit/Van Dam needs hyped and it needs to be a feud. Not just a one time encounter for the fans on free tv. The fact that the WWE is willing to hold off on these match-up's (hopefully) and book strategically is a GOOD thing.

Now that is truly a match that I would pay money to see. RVD's timing always seems a little off in the ring, but I'm sure Benoit could help him to a classic. You're right, though, it needs to be built up over weeks and weeks.

I think these guys will eventually have a series of matches close together like RVD and Eddy did not long ago. I was actually hoping Benoit would be going after RVD by now or something. I could care less if he's going after Dudleyville, not that his match back last monday was bad, it was actually pretty good.

I am not an Rvd fan (boos fill the air) but I respect his ability. I would like to see Rey Jr. vs. Rvd. I'm not sure if they where ever in the same Fed at the same time. I would love it if they gave them a long match to show what they could do.

Actually, I kinda get the feeling that this match wouldn't reach expectations at all whatsoever. RVD can be carried to good matches by workers that can keep him reigned in and focused on the psychology of the match at hand. Benoit, while a very good to great worker, works best with those that already have a grasp on the US Pro style, even if they aren't the best of workers. RVD has trouble working in that style, and it think it'd end up being a real style clash.

If the WWF puts RVD/Benoit on PPV, I will buy the show for just that match. Benoit and RVD both have loyal fan followings, and any match between them would have us CLAMORING [Clamoring?] Yes, clamoring! for more! MORE! MORE!

*Drools* RVD/Benoit LADDER MATCH?

Benoit/RVD would be ungodly cool. My only problem would be figuring out who to cheer for.
My ultimate dream match is actually a possibility, albeit still a slim one, but more so than it's ever been before: Benoit/Shawn Michaels. Admittedly, Shawn is still a non-wrestler and may never wrestle again, but I always, deep down, hope that someday I'll see it happen. :)
