A couple of my friends' brothers live down there, both I think went to UCSB, one for sure, and have stuck around. I like the Valley's closeness to everything I could want to get to and a fair COL. There are a million reasons to not want to live here, and I agree with probably just about all of them, it's just that this is home. I got the joke, by the way, I'm used to it. I make the same ones about Bakersfield.
Basically you should not be up for consideration for 'greatest' unless you've been doing 'great' things for at least 30 years, or you are dead. If you don't fall into one of those categories, then your 'greatness' is quite easily just a passing fad.
