I have nothing against Cleveland, and I feel really bad about how hard I laughed at these two videos - especially the second one. (I feel even worse about sharing them.)

I ROTFLMAO'd. That second one was AWESOME.

They are both completely true. Our fish all have AIDS.

The second one is far more hysterical. And, if you are going to show the statue of Moses Cleveland, he has to be wearing and Indians cap as in Major League.

Being from southern California,I can only imagine what a horrible place it must be. And I spent 3 years in New Hapmpshire (luckilly much of that was actually spent out at sea). That video makes garbage dumps like Fresno and Bakersfield look like nice places. why anyone would want to live there is beyond me. I have to think anyone there must be stuck and can't get out. how sad:(

Funny, I'd say many of the same things about Southern California. Well, Los Angeles anyway. And having been to Cleveland, Fresno and Bakersfield, I'd take a trip Cleveland over the other two.

Seriously? It's his hometown, and believe it or not there is a lot of good about and around Cleveland. "Cleveland: It's not all like East Cleveland."

I'm speechless.

My girlfriend is from Visalia. I wouldn't move to the Central Valley if Santa Barbara was on fire. (Oh, wait!)

SPent a lot of my college years in the 1970s going to Cleveland. It has a lot to offer and a lot of problems. But it is a great place with alot of neat stuff to do and eat.

admittedly, I work more toward Independence when I am there, but I enjoy my two or three trips to Cleveland. Quaker Sate Wings, Hoggies, the walk down by the Canal.

of course, the weather does suck in the winter, but that is the same at a bunch of other locales.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

I grew up in Cleveland, and this is pretty much on the nose. Real problem is, as the video says, "this is the place where there used to be industry, this train is carrying jobs out of the city." Still, there's a whole lot to see and do, and you can do it incredibly cheap.

That said, these videos were both hilarious and accurate. I didn't think that anything in video 2 would beat "come on down to W. 6th st., it's the perfect place to be a douchbag." But then it served up "you see the sun almost three times a year." Which is so true, I have nothing left to say.

EDIT: I also wanted to mention AWArulz comment about the weather. There's a saying I heard a couple of times growing up: Cleveland is the home of bad weather. If you see it anywhere else, it's on vacation.

I spent 6 daysin Cleveland a couple of years ago during a crusade to see all the baseball parks and I really enjoyed myself. I have been back (I rarely travel now) but I do have fond memories of Cleveland.

And as funny as this is, I am pretty much assuming you could do this with any city. Hell, come to NY City, where douchbags are more common than cockroaches!!

( ducking lumps of coal being hurled my way. )

OK OK I was only 1/2 messing around (well, closer to 2/3.)

I'm sure Cleveland's just fine for anyone who likes being there, it just doesn't seem like somewhere I would want to live. And yes, I could totally make a couple videos like that about my area,I would just have to get alot more creative finding bad things to say and compile about a years worth of footage to complain about the weather.

Leroy, ya got me all cracked up, right on brah.

I much prefer the CV to the hellhole that is much of the Los Angeles area. Though if I lived in SB I wouldn't want to move here either.

I was (mostly) trying to make a joke. The fact that wouldn't want to live in the Central Valley has little to do with the fact that I live in Santa Barbara. I'm not playing that card.

Just to be a bit more evenhanded, while Santa Barbara is nice in most of the ways people think a "nice" city is "nice" (e.g. weather, commute, dining, etc), it's not without its huge frustrations. It's expensive as all hell. The elitism that runs though this town is really unbearable at times - kind of like a small town version of Beverley Hills or Belle Aire. It's a very anti-middle class, anti-working class town. And if it weren't for UC Santa Barbara, it would be a cultural vacuum.

We've had an exodus of friends leave in the last two years, mostly people in our age group who are looking to settle down and just don't feel the cost of living is worth the sacrifice just to stay here. The running joke - Santa Barbara is full of the newly wed, the nearly dead, and college students. Thirtysomethings looking to start a family usually don't stick around.

And we're not staying, either. Personally, I'm hoping we end up in the northeast - preferably NYC, Boston, or somewhere in that vicinity.

Remember that bandwidth and latency are two very different things. When you're downloading a huge file off the Internet, you want bandwidth. Think of it as the size of the "pipe" coming to your door.
