I didn't think they had THAT much money. Promote this thread!

Damn...if the Blue Jays had any other starters, a halfway-competent bullpen or any offense to speak of, I might consider them a threat to contend in the AL East. This will get added at the end of each post you make, below an horizontal line. This should preferably be kept to a small enough size.

I don't know about the starters. Right now they would have: Roy Halladay AJ Burnett Ted Lilly Josh Towers Gustavo Chacin and also for the pen or spot starts: David Bush Dustin McGowan Brandon League Justin Speier Miguel Batista Jason Frasor BJ Ryan I think that is a significantly under-rated pitching staff. Speier and Frasor are much better than they get credit for, while McGowan, Bush and League are all young hard throwers. Gabba gabba hey!

If the Yankees crash and burn again this season, I'd put the Jays in second. But that's as far as they'll go, because I don't think anybody passes Boston with a healthy Schilling and Josh Beckett on their staff. Then again, the balance of power in the AL East hinges on who Boston gets for Manny Ramirez. But really, AJ Burnett is worth THAT much? They could have paid him AJ Burnett money and chased after one of the lowlier free agents on the market (or even traded for Juan Pierre). I'm just a little stunned at the moment. This pretty much says it all
Tie-breaking playoff games count as regular season games. That's also how Maury Wills played in 165 games for the Dodgers in 1962.
