I had a ruptured disc in my back in 2001. It's the absolute second worse pain I have ever dealt with. I wouldn't wish it on anybody. Having the pain WITH accompanying numbness is somehow worse than just the pain.
Seeing as how both my parents have had issues with disintegrating bones in their back (and most likely I'm going to get it due to heredity), I second what StaggerLee said - I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I caught Dr. James Andrews on Jim Rome last year. He said that the amount of steriods and supplements are really creating a ton of these injuries. He said that people are now working out less and taking more supplements to maintain.
