Someone said they were faces a few posts after the thread started.

I think stables work best as a midcard thing, and if they have a main eventer, it works best four horsemen style. You have a top heel (Flair) and his posse to protect him. However, most of my favorite stables were midcard groups which helped elevate one or two of those involved to the main event(Nation- The Rock, DX- Triple H, Corporation- The Rock again?).

Stables are strongest, in my opinion, with a main eventer leading midcarders.. it gives a good shot at a mid carder being "bumped up" through tag matches with main eventers and all, and gives that main eventer a chance to be "weaker" and get people over while still winning due to his posse.. of course the way main eventers go over now, 50-60 midcarders could run in after a double knockout, and rocky/austin would get back up and rock bottom/stun them all in rapid order.

Well, both Rock and Triple H led the Corporation at one point, so you could say it helped put both of them over. Nobody really got over by being in the Ministry, but I still liked to watch them. Now my question is, (this has been suggested before) if you had a leader who was a midcarder *Raven* but one of the backup guys was a main eventer *Kane/Big Show* would that work?

i think that would work... it would again give kane a direction and some leadership... allowing him to become the big red machine again... i think it would be awesome to have him as the big guy in the flock...

I think it would work. It would elevate Raven in the eyes of the casual fans a bit, plus it sets the stage for an eventual split when Kane gets pissed about being Raven's lackey.

First you'd have to spend some time building Raven back to this guy with a twisted mind and establishing that he knows how to do some mind control trick..
Would love to see his old char and the flock in the wwf..
Kane could beat some other guys until they fall under Raven's spell too..

Ok, i'll throw in my two cents...I wasn't watching the WCW in 88 so I can't comment on the Horsemen of 88 but out of the rest of them I have to agree that Team RECK was the best all around talents from top to bottom.

The Hart Foundation is probably the second best as far as wrestling ability. Although Pillman was done, Neidhart was done (but he hardly even wrestled did he? so maybe we shouldn't even count him), Bulldog and Owen were still good especially as a tag team but they weren't really at their best. Compare that to team Reck. Other than Benoit, Angle is as close as you are going to get to being as good as Hart. Edge and Christian were a better tag team (atleast I thought) than Owen and Bulldog, at the time. Although if owen and Bulldog were teaming together in their prime that might be a different story. And then there's Rhyno who was better than both Neidhart and Pillman who I stated were both done.

As for on the mic, the original DX had Shawn who was great and HHH who was still improving. And the second version of DX really only had HHH, yeah the NAO and X-Pac pulled some antics that got them over as being "funny" but they really didn't have that much talent on the mic. Team Reck (Angle, Edge, Christian, not so much Rhyno) got over as funny because of their actual mic abilities, not by just pulling pranks and using the same line (let's get ready to suck it for example) all the time.

As for the Raven's Flock idea, I think it would work with Raven, Kanyon, Saturn, and Kane. And maybe you could even add Kanyon's Jersey friend DDP? Get rid of the Good Thing Bad Thing gimmick and make him go back to being a grungy guy like back in the beginning of his WCW days. Maybe even add Matt Hardy when Jeff Hardy retires (word is he'll quit when his current contract is up.)

I don't know if team RECK can be considered an actual stable. Sure they hung out backstage, but it wasn't anything official, just friendships leading up to the King of The Ring.

I do think that pairing Raven with Kane would work, in the mold of Michaels/Diesel. The only thing is that the popularity is reverse. Michaels gave Diesel cred and Kane would do the same for Raven. The only way the WWF does this is if they are serious about pushing Raven to the top of the card, which I believe they should. In my opinion, Raven was the best "character" to have ever come out of ECW. Until WCW pulled the plug on his push back in 98 he was really involved in things and getting over. Hell, he was on the cover of NWO Revenge!

But I don't think DDP should get involved in this. He's just starting to rebuild himself, let him continue to slowly make his way back up the card as a face. I couldn't imagine watching a Kanyon/Saturn tag team. They could definitely reprise the Eliminators and make it even better!

Probably a little bit of both. I can imagine that two young single guys like Batista and Orton wouldnt hang out ALL the time with two older married guys like Flair and Hunter. Even though I bet you Ric Flair would be a blast to roll with.
