| #1 Posted on 1.12.03 1958.31 | Instant Rating: 2.73 | I figured since the holiday season is approaching, that some of us may need help picking out games. I am a hardcore gamer, the only problem is I have a couple friends that aren't into it as much. I dont want to get them gift certificates because thats what I got them for their birthdays. I figured I'd try and pick out a game for them, and see if they would like it. If they didnt they can take it back and it would be just like a gift certificate anyways, so I thought I'd give it a shot (I despise giving gift certificates since it is so bland and not personal). Note I am looking to spend about 20 bucks on each, both only have a PS2.
Help me out here Friend #1: Games a little, prefers sports games but already has NCAA 2004 and March Maqdness 2004. Will play the occasional racing game. Has recently branched out with GTA and Ace Combat 4. Not a huge platform fan but did enjoy Pac-man 2. (my thoughts thus far are GT3, I got nothing else)
Friend #2: Games a little more. Also a big sports nut but already has NCAA 2004. Likes the GTA games, but has them both. Recently got Socom but I dont think he has had much time to play it (is a med student and has a kid, but does game when he has free time). Likes halo, but not unreal championship (played them on my Xbox). (my thoughts are Max Payne or Hitman 2).
Any help would be appreciated.

If they already have NCAA Football then they most likely are more of a college fan (i'm especially guessing this is true about the guy who has March Madness too). There is a nice feature that you can export your draft class to the NFL, but if you're not a huge NFL fan then it's not worth it. And let's face it. NCAA and Madden are the same game, just different teams.
I have to agree with Gugs on the others though. If friend #1 likes baseball then it seems like the logical choice to complete his sports needs. Same can be said about Friend #2 but if you think he will like a Max Payne game then I'd say True Crime:Strees of LA is better than Payne or Hitman 2. I'd say Maxx Payne next after that with Hitman 2 bringing up the rear.
Mabye there's some other kind of accesory they could use? Controllers? Memory cards?
