As an aside Brad Friedel is quickly advancing into cult hero status, and if the US can somehow move past Germany he might just have a chance at getting into that Olympic champion realm. He's one more "Human Wall" performance from a Wheaties box I say!

So the official betting mans (from the UK's William Hill bookies) list of the top 10 most likely teams to make it into the final is now reduced to Brazil, England and Spain. It really is wide open isn't it? Brilliant.

Edit: Actually Italy are the favourites right now. A comparison of the various (UK) online bookmakers odds can be seen if you Click Here

I'm thinking Germany are going to "sneak" through to win this whole thing. Oliver Kahn is just unbeatable as a goalkeeper-1 goal in 4 matches, I think. Although best of luck to the USA, I certainly didn't expect them to get past Mexico-great story. Poor Jim Rome must be really pissed off now, as his goal has been to rid the USA of soccer. | spf

I agree 100%. Rome is a twit, to put it lightly.
Anyway, hahahahahahahahaha. I STILL think that we threw the last game so that we would play Mexico. This win should come as no surprise since we play Mexico so many times. If there is one elite soccer team that we know well it is Mexico. That knowledge is a big advantage if they take you lightly.

| #9 Posted on 17.6.02 1007.18 | Got up at 4am and caught the 75th minute on - never expected to beat Mexico the way we have been playing - can't wait for the game against Germany.
Italy is going to have one hell of an obstacle to hurdle with the South Korean fans and the "track team" that the Koreans are - they just don't stop running.
I would love to see a USA-Italy semi-final matchup - the Wife is 100% Italian and it would be war in our house.....but it is more likely to be Germany-Spain on this side of the bracket

The rest of the match? Absolute clusterfrick. I was about ready to come through the TV and strangle the ref. On a side note, he was Portugeuse. Hmmmmm... ;)

| #13 Posted on 17.6.02 2220.33 | Klose is one problem; the other is Kahn, who's only let in one goal in four games. He has such a good presence of mind in that net.
The Mexican coach is complaining about the handball in the goal area. I can't stand coaches looking for excuses after the final whistle. One missed call doesn't make a ninety minute match. Aguirre: Your team played like crap. You're out. Get over it. | Qubber
