Last night, I had another crazy wrestling dream. This time, the WWE was at some award ceremony, and Tazz kept chasing Carrot Top with a blender in order to make a salad. What does it mean?!

It's time for The Great Thomas SmackDown! Report!

LAST WEEK: El Gran Luchadore was Kurt Angle! You guys told me it was Paul London!

Mr. Angle: He's back in a wheelchair. He hobbles into the ring. He tells us that he rose from his wheelchair to prevent Eddie from winning the title last week. He risked permanent paralysis for the greater good. Only men of morality can make it on SmackDown! Not men like Eddie or Cena. Tonight, Eddie must beg for his job tonight in order for him to keep him. He calls in ring announcer Tony Chimel. He's also a hometown hero here in Philly! Mr. Angle holds a grudge against Chimel for announcing Eddie as the winner at Wrestlemania XX. He calls Chimel a liar, then, makes Chimel get on his knees and beg for his job. Chimel does so. Mr. Angle is not convinced. So Chimel's FIRED! Mr. Angle then tells us that Eddie must also beg for his job tonight!

Taco Bell: "I'M FULL!" Phooey. If you were really full, you wouldn't be screaming about it from the rooftops. More likely, you'd be unable to move for half an hour!

Chavo vs. Noble vs. Spike: Josh Matthews is the new ring announcer. "Chavo Geererro." Heh. Chavo and Noble gang up on Spike. MANHATTAN DROP by Spike! HEADSCISSORS! European Uppercuts by Chavo. Spike tosses Chavo into Noble outside the ring. FLYING CROSSBODY by Spike to the outside! ELECTRIC CHAIR DROP by Noble! POWERSLAM! HUGE EXPLODER SUPLEX by Chavo! Spike hits the DUDLEY DOG for the win! Spike is the #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Title!

WWE in Japan: Cosplayers galore!

GM Room: Mr. Angle is surrounded by Divas who demand more airtime. Mr. Angle complies by making a Fatal Four-Way Lingerie Match TONIGHT!

Bubba vs. Kidman: HEADSCISSORS by Kidman. GIANT SPINEBUSTER by Bubba! Some shitty brawling happens. DROPKICK by Kidman! ENZIGURI! D-Von pushes Kidman off the turnbuckle, allowing Bubba to hit the BUBBA BOMB for the win!

UPN News at 10: Interview with Randy Orton.

GM Room: Funaki interviews Mr. Angle. Mr. Angle will present Booker T with the US Title next week. But Booker can hold it for tonight only. Funaki says that isn't fair. Mr. Angle responds by saying that it's a disgrace that Funaki is a broadcast journalist and can't even speak English! Funaki's FIRED!

Locker Room: The Dudley Boys arrive to celebrate Spike's #1 Contender's win. The older Dudleys cut a deal with Spike. They won't interfere in Spike's title match, if Spike doesn't interfere in D-Von's match tonight. That's because D-Von is gonna be wrestling the Cruiserweight Champion and Spike's good friend Rey Mysterio! Spike is perturbed.

EARLIER TODAY: JBL visited the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.

The "Rocky" Challenge: JBL says that last week he won what critics called "the greatest steel cage match ever"! He says that Philadelphia is home of Rocky Balboa. He calls in some jobber, and tells him if he wins tonight, he gets to wrestle him at Summerslam for the WWE title. The bell rings. Powerbomb, Clothesline From Hell, pin. "*****". Afterwards, JBL grabs the mic and is disappointed that he doesn't have an opponent for Summerslam. BUT WAIT! The BONG hits, and Undertaker lumbers in. Bradshaw tries to fast talk his way out of his dilemma, but it ain't working. CHOKESLAM to JBL! "You... me... Summerslam!" I only ask: WHY?

Heidenreich: Heyman has a vision for Heidenreich. And that vision is to KILL VELOCITY JOBBERS!

Torrie vs. Dawn Marie vs. Miss Jackie vs. Sable: The Divas disrobe. But before they can do anything else, Mr. Angle rolls in, and tells them that they're not underrated, they're just plain useless! The Divas are FIRED!

D-Von vs. Mysterio: QUEBRADOR CON HILO by D-Von! FLYING SENTON by Mysterio! MOONSAULT INTO DDT! 6-1-9 is foiled by Bubba! But London and Kidman attack Bubba, and push D-Von off the top rope! Mysterio hits the 6-1-9, followed by a SPRINGBOARD SPLASH for the win!

RAW Rebound: Triple H got rid of Eugene forever! As a reward, Triple H will wrestle Benoit in a 60-Minute Ironman Match next week! So Triple H sent Batista to soften up Benoit for next week.

John Cena: Cena walks in with a couple of salamis. He proceeds to make gay jokes and poop jokes at the expense of Mr. Angle and Luther Reigns. Lets go to commercial break!

To Be The Man: "Flair's criticism of Foley will create a backlash." Are you tryin' to start something?

Cena vs. Reigns: BIG BOOT by Luther! Cena gets tossed into the ringpost. CLOTHESLINE by Luther! HUGE BUTTERFLY SUPLEX by Luther! HUGE SPINEBUSTER! KNEEDROP misses! SIDEWALK SLAM by Cena! FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE! Cena pumps up, and clotheslines Luther into the corner! BUT WAIT! Booker T appears, and distracts Cena, allowing Luther to attack Cena from behind. Luther holds Cena, but Booker's BELTSHOT misses, and hits Luther instead! Cena covers for the 1-2-3!

Will Eddie Guerrero Beg For His Job?: Mr. Angle is back in the ring. He calls out Eddie. BUT WAIT! IT'S MR. McMAHON! Vince tells Kurt that he seems to enjoy firing people left and right. He says that Kurt fooled Vince, and that's not a wise decision. Especially if it got McMahon screwed out of a Humanitarian Award! Kurt is the one begging for his job! Mr. Angle is FIRED! Vince reinstates Kurt as an active wrestler, and at Summerslam, he will wrestle Eddie Guerrero! Eddie drives in, and Vince hops in the lowrider! And... we're out.

That's all for this week. Until then, Good Night, take care of yourselves, and don't forget to dial down the center!

I'm pretty sure the jobber was Mike Kruel, who last I knew was ECWA champion and worked the Super 8 this year.

JBL's post-match promo was awesome. "Think about the buyrates!" Ahahaha fuck all of us, this guy rules. Don't want to see him wrestle Taker though.

Really good SD tonight. In just a few short weeks it seems that SD has pulled itself back up to being possibly as good as RAW.

The entire JBL segment was completely awesome, as he continues to entertain in this character. And I don't care what anybody says, the sheer hilarity of JBL's reaction to UT makes up for any shortcomings the actual match may have. A casket match would be nice.

Angle/Eddie should be very good, as I thought their WM20 match was excellent. And Vince's walk/ "YOU'RE FAAAAAIIRED" always get a laugh out of me.

Not a bad show at all from my point of view ... damn, I hate to admit it, but I loved seeing Vince tonight ... he cracks me up ...

JBL was entertaining in his promo w/ 'Taker ...

I'm starting to become intrigued by the Dudleyz/Spike/London & Kidman thing ...

After watching tonight, I have a feeling that the US title will be defended at Summerslam in a Ladder Match ... just makes sense.

This was a quality SD! I was surprised at how much of a face pop Vince got. Was it that obvious he was going to come down on Angle to a live crowd? I mean, wasn't there even the possibility of a swerve?

JBL, the character, continues to entertain. I still don't think he should be in the ME, never mind champ, though. He should be feuding with Cena for the US title.

No recap of Orton on the local news? And speaking of Orton, did anyone notice the kid doing his pose during the Spike, chavo, Noble triple threat?

I liked pretty much everything on the show. Vince is seemingly always good when he hasn't been on camera for awhile. No change there tonight. His facial expressions as the low-rider bounced were awesome.

JBL and Taker were great, even if it gets a little tedious waiting for Taker to get down to the ring. JBL could have been at the airport by the time Taker got in the ring.

Cena's promo was...I don't know...grade school level humor. Campy. That stuff will burn out fast.

Say what you will about the "Full" commercials, those new Carmel Apple Empanadas are pretty tasty. The potato things...not so good.

If they'd really gone forward with the Fatal Four-Way Lingerie match, wouldn't "Fatal" be the key word to describe the action?

Isn't it a little weird that when Angle said nobody in the largely male crowd wanted to see the divas wrestle in their lingerie, he was basically right?

Wow, a good SmackDown! I for one thought tonight's show was pretty damn good.

I pretty much figured that someone besides Eddie would be paying Angle a visit tonight (though I thought it would be Linda), considering he went insane and fired everyone, and he kept saying that "someone is going to be begging for their job tonight." And I'll admit, I marked out like a fool when Vince came out.

On a side note: is it just me, or does a 50 year old wrestling promoter look a lot better in a suit and tie than he does in a shirt with about four buttons undone?

And could somebody please tell me when Spike and Rey Rey became super best friends? I think I missed that part.

I really, really want to hate JBL, but it's hard to when he keeps putting on great promos.

Just judging by the promo tonight, it seemed almost like WWE's planning to try and replicate Brock Lesnar with Jon Heidenreich. Think about it: they look similar, they're having Heyman as his manager, making him out to be some kind of "next big thing." It might work, except for the fact that Heidenreich completely sucks. Other than that...

Yeah that buyrates line had me laughing. JBL is doing great as the champion and it's killing the experts he makes fun of to admit it.

Was I the only one who was laughing during that Heidenrich promo?

A friend of mine who shall remain nameless who is in the Valley said and I quote "McMahon said for everyone's sake they better make Big John look good".

Yep it's gonna be fun when he debuts. Just imagine if he were on RAW we'd be hearing about how he's a few pints short of a full 10 gallon hat.

HE'S A HOSS...A BAH GAWD HOSS. .

Other then that I enjoyed the show. Its slowly been getting good.

This has to be the longest streak in awhile for not having a McMahon in a ring.
As for the show itself, I fell asleep during the Bubba/Kidman match, but what was going to happen throughout the show was pretty predictable even though I didn't read the spoilers. How long's it been since Tony Chimmel was involved in an angle? Since the Howard Finkle tuxedo match? He seemed like a robot for quite some time, don't know why.

I liked Tonite's episode a lot. The Girlfriend says "Does Vince know he looks like an ass when he walks like that" at the same time I was saying "Vince is in FULL COCK OF THE WALK MODE"

JBL saying "One...........Two............Two and a half" had me ROLLING. Good promo. Making him a dickish heel, with wimp tendancies is great.

Eddie v Kurt? Sounds good to me.

Spike v Rey Rey? With all the crap with him and his 'brothers' I think we will see a new champ.

"You Cant even say 'Broadcast journalist?' "

Overall, entertaining show. Plus, a HEEL BOOKER T! Always good to see!

I'm back!!!!!

There were several reasons why I didn't write for the last several weeks.

1) My grandma (on my dad's side) was sick for a while, so he had to drive to the hospital, and then later to Chicago to help and visit her. She is getting better, but he still is visiting for a couple of days a week.

2) My grandma (on my mom's side) was at our house. When she's there, she takes over the big screen. We moved the wrestling to tapes and not watch them until she left, which was about 5 weeks. During that time, we took her to Branson, Missouri on vacation. And, what seems like it happens all the time, a WWE tv program is at the Allstate Arena (due to my location, my hometown arena [if I ever wrestled, that would be a main event site or a title shot for me]), this time, Smackdown. Unfortunatlly, that was the week when Raw went to 10:25, and I only set the timer to 10:15. We are going back there in mid-August (without my grandma this time).

3) We missed the Raw 3 weeks ago (the one in Miami) because our satellite receiver was knocked out for the duration. From what I read, didn't miss much.

Now, I will give my opinions for last night's Smackdown. After that is done, I will give my thoughts of many topics the last few weeks.

1) Angle promo -> I always have a problem when there is an angle (pun not intended) involving a non-wrestler, whether it is an announcer, ring announcer, or anyone in the Al Wilson group. Anyway, to Juggalo101, I remember the Finkel/Chimel tuxedo match. I think that was Smackdown episode #2 or #3.

2) We get Philly tourism of Independence Hall, promoting Cena vs Luther, and JBL's "Rocky" Challenge. Geh.

2a) Spike vs Noble vs Chavo (minus Chavo Classic w/fries and a Diet Coke) -> Sorry, I had to do that. Can't believe they let him go when I was on my hiatus. We get Josh doing the ring announcing, but who's doing the interviews. Noble: had to go from a storyline with him receiving an inheritance to wearing tights of the General Lee. My thought of "The Dukes of Hazzard." About 80% waste (the car chases), and every time it was on, they're always chasing. Didn't see the show, but when it was just on, it was from the channel-surfing. The match itself, ok match. Nice to give Spike the win in the area of his wrestling roots. Rey vs Spike next week for the title.

2b) WWE in Japan = Fast forward

2c) Divas talk to Angle -> they want to be seen more. Angle gives them a fatal 4 way match. Guess you can't live on bikini contests all the time.

2d) Summerslam commercial -> There's Chavo Classic, pre-fired.

3) Bubba/Kidman -> I think this is Kidman's at his best since his feud against Hogan late in WCW's existance, which he was giving the beatdowns. About time that Bubba's back in pants. As I said before, I enjoy Bubba's vocalization. He's like Larry Zybysco, or however you spell it this week. He does not need a microphone to talk. We can hear you right here. Nice match, and it is 2 for 2 for the ECW alumni at home.

4) More Philly tourism, with the Liberty Bell featured.

4a) Funaki/Angle -> Booker gets the belt for the time being. My first thought, someone will end up with the belt all right...in the head. Funaki = Fired, kind of like many past GM's in the past.

4b) Even more Philly tourism, with the Balboa Statue, and JBL. Back to the statue, and Rocky's got the hat on. LOL.

5) JBL makes his grand entrance with his wrestling gear on. I'll explain about him at the end as one of my topics. He says that last week's cage match was the best ever. Uh, I can't say that. No blood = not the best match.
His Rocky challenge, beat him, then face him at SS. Here is some guy, in tights, already at the ring.

5a) JBL/Other guy -> 1980's Superstars/Wrestling Challenge jobber squash.

5b) JBL again -> Still has no opponent, but one gong answers that question. It is the Undertaker!!! By that time, the reception was going on my TIVO. Lost signal, then we get it back with JBL on the mat. UT: "You...(signal goes)." When we get it back, GONG. UT/JBL at SS.

Now, we lost the next 40 minutes due to the satellite signal being lost. So, we lost Heidenreich (zzzzz), the fatal 4 way (zzzzz), and the Rey/D-Von match (Yes, I don't have to see Rey get shot up).

6) We get the signal back and Cena is in the ring. Who's jersey did he wear to the ring this week, because when we got the signal back, his shirt is already off.

6a) Cena/Luther -> Nice match, saw the ref bump. Those are getting more and more obvious every week. Booker comes out, and like I said earlier, someone ended up with a belt to the head, and it was Luther.

7) A final bit of Philly scenery, and it's the highway, likely from the exterior arena shot. Angle is in the ring thinking about Guerrero coming out and begging to get his job back. But....none other than Vince McMahon comes out walking like he's got ants in his pants. He was fooled by Angle's "injury." You can get fooled if you haven't looked on the internet the past several weeks. The firing and chasing Angle with the crutch was hilarious. Guerrero comes out after we find out that Guerrero/Angle is set for SS. McMahon in the low rider was hilarious, too. Vince, thanks for coming, see you in 3 months.

OK, now the other opinions of the last several weeks.

Smackdown:

1) JBL -> Guess the gimmick was the springboard to a championship title. Love the gimmick, seems like we LOL whenever he gets on the mike. Very funny with the joyride incident several weeks back.

2) Kenzo Suzuki -> Not much, but his promos the last couple of weeks were funny. I thought it was funny when Kenzo said "God Bless America" a couple of weeks ago, even though they were in Winnipeg, CANADA!!! We'll see where he goes in the next few months.

3) Cena -> At least him losing the title moved him up to a world title shot. I don't think the gimmick is getting old. Each week, it gets funnier and funnier.

4) Angle as GM -> That Angle-in-a-box was funny. He just needed the right clothes and the right emotion and a finger to the mouth and....Mr. Angle = Dr. Evil.

5) Mordecai -> Who? Oh, yeah...see you next year.

6) UT -> Give him one more run as champ, then GO AWAY!!!

Raw:

1) Eugene -> Like everyone else, I like it, but eventually it will die down and become Normal Nick again. At least he is a very good wrestler, and should get a title after this gimmick goes away.

2) Evolution -> Still dominating, but what should happen is to have someone like Batista spilt with the rest and face Triple H. He has been so dominating since he came on the scene. I see him as champion before you know it. As for HHH, I said when they set up the Ironman match for next Monday that he will win the belt again (and the world's axis will be back to normal again), even before Batista destroyed Benoit at Raw. As for the match, if it was up to me, at least have the actual scoreboard clock on instead of some graphic, just to make sure it goes a legit 60 minutes.
Back to Evolution, Flair should get out of the ring, he's too predictable. Orton, at least he's a great wrestler with the name recognition.

3) Edge -> I say the official turn will happen either next week or at Summerslam. And get a haircut, please.

4) The Lita/Hardy/Kane pregnancy angle -> Why, why, why do we have to go through this. A couple of weeks ago, I could remember Lita talking to Stacy. Stacy should have blurted out, "I was in the same situation about 3-4 years ago." Maybe they still have the baby carriage and the Shawn Stasiak photos from that time.

5) JR/King -> 5 words...SHUT UP AND GO AWAY!!! And this diva search thing is not helping me with Lawler. Can you return Coach to a normal state and have him become the permanent Raw play-by-play announcer? Maybe bring Snow to do color work, too?

6) Other moments: a) Musical chairs -> Lots of fun watching 7 adults playing this game. How could you let Flair go from a living legend to playing a kid's game, and he still couldn't get the name right? He kept calling it Ring Around the Rosey (not him).

b) Roll my eyes moment: Sgt. Slaughter wrestles. You lose, and see you in 6 months.

Sorry about wasting everyone's time, but it was fun. I should be back by Tuesday for a look at Raw, with the 60 minute Ironman match. It would have to be Tuesday for me, I have a baseball game to see on Monday.

See you later.

Wow, what a show, Smackdown is kicking Raw's ass at the moment. But what is the SummerSlam theme song gonna be, I heard Cole mention it would be announced later in the show but it never happened. I was hoping it would be Saliva since there new album comes out two days after SummerSlam and are just behind Drowning Pool for doing the most theme songs for PPVs. So if anyone knows please reply. Thanks.

The Official theme for SummerSlam is the MUCH covered "Summertime Blues", this time by Rush.

As far as Smackdown, it's has definately bounced back form being so lackluster as it had been. I'm looking forward to the SummerSlam matches from the Smackdown side. Who would have thought that JBL would keep me interested in him, as a World Champ. It's like a dream.

My only regret about this past Thursdays' show is that the WWE Divas will all probably get their jobs back. God, they just waste precious ring time for me. Then again, I'm out of the WWE's demographic, so who cares about me? :)

Ehehe. As soon as I saw that, I started wondering when Bob Ryan took over negotiating music clearances. Nice way to reach out to the kids. ;P

As for the JBL/Taker segment: The only thing that woulda made it better was for Taker to make the challenge while holding JBL for the chokeslam, not after. But hey, we all knew the buyrates of JBL/Shannon Moore were but a dream.

It's been almost a month and it's still strange listening to Bradshaw say "Bradshaw.. WWE Champion" as he did when he visit the Philadelphia stock exchange. His promo was pretty funny pre-jobber match... I was surprised when the announcers were talking about "The Rocky Challenge" they made a very specific point to say it's not The Rock. You would think they'd have the logic of if you're silly enough to believe that, that's your problem.

I thought Spike vs. Noble vs. Chavo was very good, highlight of the show... From what I saw, nothing else really stood out for me.
