I think the first sign of Smackdown's troubles is how few people respond to these threads. I remember when Smackdown threads used to be three pages long by the next morning. Ah, how the mighty have fallen...

First time I've really watched Smackdown in a while. Just out of curiosity, where were the Undertaker and RVD? I was surprised they didn't show up at all. Probably what I get for not reading the spoilers.

Really enjoyed the cruiserweight bit. It's kind of weird that they're finally treating Spike like a cruiser after years of just being a punching bag for heavyweights. It's a good thing, I think, even if he isn't quite as flashy as some of the others.

My wife thinks Paul London is cute as a button and thus cheered for him immediately without knowing who he was.

Boy, who did Rene Dupree piss off to get eliminated so quickly? Not much of a handicap match, really, given how fast Kenzo and Dupree got tossed. You shouldn't NEED outside interference to beat one guy in a three on one match.

Really enjoyed the main event, even if the ending bit the big one. JBL is definitely winning me over somewhat, although I still don't think he's quite World champ material. The frog splash off the top of the cage kicked ass and, of course, Eddie rules all.

So, if Eddie's going to be busy with Kurt, what's next for JBL? The absentees, Taker and RVD, seem the most likely candidates to me (probably UT). Maybe that's why they're shifting Heyman to Heidenreich...hoping that we'll just forget the whole Paul Bearer buried alive debacle by quietly moving on.

I'm really starting to enjoy Booker T again. It seems like it has taken him a few weeks, but he has progressed back into the heel role nicely. I loved it when he whipped out the "tell me ..." bit at Suzuki ...

And Eddie's frog splash was, well, just freakin' sweet ...

Go banana.

I have always enjoyed Booker as a heel more than a face. In fact the only time I really liked him as a face was when he and Goldy was a tag team. The SCORPION KING promo with him superimposing himself on screen was gold!

BTW, Clarion College Golden Eagles is correct.

Thank you for your irrelevant opinion.

Kurt was funny backstage, after Luther was thrown into the wall, Kurt asks "How is he going to be?", as a trainer says "He's just been thrown into a wall", Kurt snaps "I know that!" Then he whines about his knee being tweaked... Tazz was on pretty good as well as Cole talks about during the Dupree match "An American has won the Tour De France 5 times in a row". As Tazz responds with "That's all fine and good but this isn't boat racing" LoL

Booker, Dupree and Suzuki is the oddest trio of heel I've seen in recent memory... I think Noble's tights is a statement of how he misses the Dukes on good ol' TNN. Now that it's turned to Spike he can't get his Dukes fix. That's why he's fighting with the namesake Dudley. Most thought out feud of the YEAR!

smark/net attack wienerville advisory is raised to YELLOW alert - Elevated (JBL is the new WWE champion, good gawd hide under the desk. But Benoit is World Champion allowing some safety in the IWC)- 6/28

Man, I totally agree. Why good ol' Bob is "enhancing" himself for that goobag is beyond me.

In a (only slightly) related observation, Rene was very...bouncy. I must gouge my eyes out now.

(and Hiroko isn't at ringside for you to oogle).

Well for Stupid lines, Teddy Long kept commenting on how SLOW the ref was counting when Spike covered his man Rodney Mack. He said it on two different occasions.
