Last week, Hogan slugged McMahon. Will he accept Hogan's challenge? It's time for The Great Thomas SmackDown! Report!

Mysterio vs. A-Train: FASHION NOTE: Masks and Skullcaps DON'T MIX! Happy 31st Birthday, Mike Sparks! A-Train wins via the Train Wreck.

Guerrero The Elder vs. Cena: Shoot. Who's this "Red Dog" fellow, and when did he show up? Anyway, Eddie wins via Frog Splash.

Heyman: He gives an opportunity to some guy.

Pepsi Twist: I love this commercial. Ozzy rules.

Boy Band Man vs. Kidman: Somewhere out there, DEAN is wondering why Kidman is fouling up his TV. In other news, Torrie and Dawn Marie are relegated to Velocity. Ha! Ha! Ha! Kidman wins via Shooting Star Press. Afterwards, Hardy V.1 almost breaks Kidman's fucking neck, and somewhere out there, you know DEAN is jumping out of his chair with delight.

Mr. McMahon's Big Surprise: It's Hogan Vs. The Rock. at No Way Out. What a swerve! OMG THE ROCK IS BALD! Anyway, same deal, yadda yadda, whoop candy ass, if ya smelalalala... he's not a convincing heel yet. Is he EVEN a heel yet?

Rikishi vs. DeMott: And the feud goes on. Cole calls them "two big bulls." We all know what J.R. would have called them. Rection wins via the ropes. Afterwards, Undertaker comes out and calls out the Big Show. Let's go to commercial break!

Undertaker: He's still here, and still talking. Heyman, and he sends out... Bellhop. He does a singing telegram, and you know what happens next.

Giant Nathan Jones: He's Australia's strongest man!

Team Angle: Angle rallies his forces. I so totally want a Team Angle jacket!

Sean O'Haire: He wants you to drink, smoke, and screw your parents!

The Main Event: Cap'n Kurt does commentary. What a refreshing change of pace. Oh, nevermind. He leaves once the opposing team starts kicking ass. Let's go to commercial break!

DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball: Shut up! I love Dead or Alive! I've played their fighting games! There's a lot more to it than cute girls with jiggly breasts! It's also got great storylines! I swear! Play it! I'm telling the truth! What? Oh, yeah, the match!

The Main Event (cont.): Los Guerreros watch the match on the TV. Submissions galore! That makes Wieners happy! Haas sells the Enziguri like a champ. Number of Rolling German Suplexes Today: 3. Benjamin wins via Angle's belt. Benoit screwed again! So what else is new?

That's all for this week. Until then, Good Night, take care of yourselves, and I swear, I WILL beat Final Fantasy X by next week! ...I hope.

...and a Fashion Report, too.

Ray, in white mask and "619" pants and a DAMN STOCKINGCAP! vs. Albert, in black undies and hair. Rey, you're wearing a mask - you don't need the hat. Nice match.

Hey, since when were managers able to give talent the night off?

Eddie, in green trunks, and "Cheat 2 Win" shirt, wearing the belt, with Chavo, vs. Whitey, in red trunks, with RedDogBeer. Is Eddie a face? His shirt is a heel shirt, but Whitey is even MORE a heel. Good match. Red shirt "88" girl with glasses and pigtails looks cute!

Kendrick will do an "anything" job for Paul. Steph, in black shirt, with wavy hair, talks to Daddy, in a grey suit.

Shannon, in a V1 shirt, and red bellbottoms, with Matt, in black shirt with white dragons, and Matt's Music, vs. Billy, in blue full-cut briefs, wearing the belt. Good match, happy beatdown.

Vince struts to the ring. That went on a bit long. Oh, hello, quasi-heel Rocky, "live" via satelite. That really WAS a bit long. WHo was Rocky talking to off-camera? Me!

Taxx, in black suit with orange hanky, and Cole, in black shirt, are the Greek Chorus tonight.

Fatass, in black manskirt with red dragon star, vs. Bully, in black singlet with red splats. Okay match. BikerTaker, in black sweatshirt with red face, speaks.

BikerTaker is still there. Paul, in suit, NY Yankees hat, and Dr. Who scarf, talks. Kendrick, in a red bellhop suit, (with the hat, too) bikes to the ring (with a bell, too!) and sings.

Nathan Jones "Crikey!" But Mark Henry's the world's strongest man. I smell a feud!

Kurt gives HIS team a pep-talk. Team hug!

Sean O'Haire is like an annoying mother, telling us what we ALREADY know.

Team Angle, in blue "Team Angle" warmup suits, with hoods up, vs. Edge, in white trenchcoat and trunks, and Ben-Wa, in red trunks. AdBreaks, my ancient foe, rears its ugly head. Good match.

Overall: Good show. Maybe I'm biased in favor of Smackdown!, but it really IS better than Raw.

Edit: I swear, I write these things before I read The Great Thomas's stuff.

Thhhor tries to explain economics to SPP, but he doesn't use the phrases "freaks and peaks", "boomshakalaka", or "booty daddy" so SPP can't understand him.

Damnit, it's not very fair.

The show, at least, sounded interesting. At least. For some reason, my UPN affiliate decided to show Star Trek instead of SmackDown!, unless it was on at some different time?

Does anybody else live in the Washington D.C. area, and did you get to see wrestling?

Tazz gets the line of the night for lifting "Candygram for Mongo" from Blazing Saddles. That was awesome and dead-on.

You know, I could watch Rikishi and DeMott go at it every week. Oh, wait...

Rock vs Hogan in MONTREAL. Rock is getting a little "Hollywood" attitude. That's not a bad way to play it. Monster heel: No problem.

I loved the main even though pretty much everybody else in the room considered it boring. It was a wrestling match, after all...

So Underaker arrives at the arena on foot...but rides a bike to the ring?

Mr. Jazz (Redd Dogg) looks, uh, well...

...And the crowd is TOTALLY behind Kidman! Yeah, right.

Another good show.

Was it just me, or when Heyman first came up to Brian Kendrick backstage, was Kendrick was talking to the others about Dungeons and Dragons? It sure sounded like he said something like "and then I used my third wish, but it turned me into an orc". Am I hearing things?

I was laughing through the whole segment about that line alone!

Second best line of the night ...
Angle: "They call me Captain Kurt."
Tazz: "How's Spock?"

You gotta love Tazz.

Tazz was so insanely ON tonight. How about him picking on Blind Mike Sparks (haven't done a CRZem in a while) after finding out it's his 31st birthday and saying "He doesn't look a day after 50" and then remembering later on in the show where Sparks reffed again and didn't see cheating and Tazz got on him and saying he's getting old... And how about him suckering poor naive Cole into saying AC/DC and then replying "Whatever turns you on" AC/DC is slang for bi-sexuality. Tazz rules and every day he's making Lawler look more outdated and totally overshadowing him.

-Mysterio vs. Albert- Rey's mask/touque does not work, it's a real dumb look. I stopped reading spoilers now that the Dawn/Torrie stuff stop so I don't have to avoid parts of the show anymore, so this ending shocked me, and not in a good way. Albert wins clean. SIGH!

-Eddie vs. Cena-Cena rapped but no Booyah. The rap felt naked with no booyah. Fans don't really now what to think of the Guerreros, are they heels or faces. Cheat2Win on their shirts, but Cena is playing up as a real jerk, half way through the match they backed Eddie who Cheated2Win and Chavo made sure we all know as he pointed at the shirt.

-Kidman vs. Moore- Since Kidman won the title has he even been in a feud yet. I think he's feuding with Matt but I don't know for sure and don't they keep saying Matt is out of cruiserweight range. Who knows. Match was good but totally overshadowed by the Sick Twist of Faith Matt did on Kidman afterwards.

-Vince interview- Let me get this out of the way first, did they break some sort of record of crowd shots during that interview. It got annoying after just the first few minutes. Every 3 words out of Vince's mouth the went to crowd shots with Hogan signs, sometimes the same sign 2 or 3 times in a row. Very annoying... Also another, until tonight I've never realized how much I DIDN'T miss the Vince character. He's been gone for months, and it doesn't seem fresh at all. And I'm someone who enjoyed the Mr. McMahon character on the most part. But The Rock totally rocked tonight, I love he was still kissing fans asses somewhat but planting some seeds. Perfect

-DeMott vs. Rikishi- If there is a feud that I really could do without a best of 7 series it's this one. Does DeMott teach to TE Kids how to perform the laziest Cheat to Win tactic ever. What was that this week, he was kind of holding down Rikishi and put one leg through the rope with no leverage and looked totally off balanced easier for Rikishi to kick out. What a load of crap this match was. Worst match of the Night, easily.

-Undertaker interview- We don't have the real deadman, the only thing about BikerTaker that is mildly fun is his funny lyrics to his theme hehe... Oh and that was the only fun thing that happened in this segment.

-Team Angle vs. Benoit/Edge- 20 minutes, thank you WWE. At least the main events on this show rules! They almost went overboard with the slow down heels submissions, but they didn't they added some quick double team moves in there. When the faces got the advantage it rocked. Real exciting and good match.

-other stuff- Angle's pep talk backstage is always fun... Heyman acting is always great, buds into a existing conversation just laughing along with everyone Lol... Brocks pre taped promos are not very fun.

Line of the night, so much from Tazz but I ended up going with "Mike Sparks is 30? he doesn't look a day over 50"

Sign of the night: "Team Suck Squad" makes me laugh every time.

It's a good show, more good then bad. I have to give a bit of the edge to Raw this week, just a bit. I just find Raw's midcard to be a little more interesting then SD's mid-card. SD seems to have some major highs and major lows in a show while Raw a bit more even, even with a sub par World title scene.

Speaking as somebody who attended the taping right here in Titletown, USA...we had no idea who to root for. Eventually, we went with Eddie...but how can I forgive him for cutting the Last Great Mullet in Wrestling?

Well, one of them was held up by my buddy next to me, and I know that one made air. Sorry 'bout that. :-)

No fair...I had two signs for my favorite indy fed, but WWE Gestapo security took 'em away. Heartless bastards. Hey...I forget which match it was during...but did anybody see a dude walk across the screen behind the ring, with his "Vince Blur This: WWF" sign? (They confiscated that one, too...can't imagine why.) :-)

Random Smackdown Thoughts:

Awesome promo by Vince. The Rock's promo for the most part was awful. I hope he turns heel, though.

I noticed "Hardy Sucks." chants at the end of Hardy's assault on Kidman. I hope Johnny Ace heard that.

Taker's promo was weird. Brian Kenderick's gimmick was fun.

I liked Angle's speech to Benjamin and Haas.

Of course, the match of the night was Team Angle-Edge/Benoit.

Overall, another decent Smackdown.

Good storylines, crappy wrestling matches. The main event and Kidman were the only decent matches.

I liked the Rock's promo, reminds me of the retro-heel Rock. He needs to bring back the, "This ain't singalong with the champ."

The live crowd must've been pissed. They didn't get Hogan, Brock, Big Show, or Angle. Even the Undertaker seemed lost out there. They need a big name in a match to raise the show.

Is DOA: Volleyball exclusive to X-Box, I want it for my PS2.

I missed the Booya, kinda like Funaki without the Indeed.

During the Kidman match, I kept hearing the "We Want Jeff" chants directed at Matt. I'm not sure he'll ever get out from under Jeff's shadow.

Enjoyed the main event. However, its now reached to point where a SD without Kurt Angle wrestling is like a day without sunshine.
Took all of 2 shows for me not to want to see Vince on TV again.
I've never liked him since his blue chip days, so seeing Catch Phrase back now means I know when to channel surf.

I live in the DC area and UPN 20 pre-empted Smackdown for University of MD basketball at 9. That's why they showed Star Trek at 8. Lucky for me I live in MD so I changed the channel to UPN 24 in Baltimore and watched Smackdown. Free TV in between 2 markets rule!
