I'm glad they didn't hype this debate til it happened. I know my expectations would have been huge had they promoed this since last week. Steiner was more composed than I've ever seen him in a promo which was dissapointing. WHile all of his points weren't valid, at least he stayed on the war topic. If this doesn't get him over with Joe Redneck I don't know what will.

Hey, at least they're doing SOMETHING decent with Steiner. I'd much rather him mess around with Nowinski and 3MW's careers thanm you know, real talents...
It gives him something to do rather than haunt the upper midcard.

I love that Steiner is the voice of America. To me, they're just mocking both polar opposite sides of the fence.

Nothing personal against you. Your post did seem to insinuate that the people that agree with the action in Iraq are being tricked into agreeing with it. I guarantee you that I come to my opinion on my own and I could debate my reasons respectfully against anyone. To even consider trying to use a speech from Scott Steiner on a wrestling program as a true sample of the people that agree with the current action in Iraq is ridiculous at best.

I heard about this upcoming reality show where Joe Somebody gets to fight Mike Tyson. So let me get this straight...

A nobody off the street gets trained on television by a staff of grisley veteran coaches for thirteen weeks so that he may ultimatly fight against a marble-mouth freak whom you are scared for your life anytime you step in the ring with him.

Nowinski should SUE!

I want to fight Tyson without all the fancy training...if only I could get 50-100 thousand for it.

Voice of America? Steiner was simply delivering the Bradshaw speech in Bradshaw's absence, with the words "terrorist" and "terrorism" used interchangably. Nowinski was just parroting opinions found in practically any "alternative" newspaper's editorial page. And you could hear the groan from the audience once the *concept* of "three minutes" came up - let's face it, Three Minute Warning wore out their welcome months ago.

Now what do we have to look forward to next week? "The Rock Concert II".

(sigh)

The Anti War Peacenik - Christopher Nowinski

A smug college graduate that thinks he is smarter than everyone else, who brings well stated opinions that are shit on by most people.

The Pro War Supporter - Scott Steiner

A roided-up monster that refers to himself as "The Big Bad Booty Daddy" that knows jack squat about politics and calls anyone that doesn't agree with him an un-American hippy.

I wasn't sure what WWE was trying to do with this. Were they trying to have them be charicatures of both sides of the pro/anti-war argument giving stereotypical arguments to make them BOTH look stupid? Because, that's how they came off.

Scott Steiner gave the most uninformed, idiotic, narrow-minded view of the pro-war side that was completely void of logic. We have to attack Iraq because Al Qaeda attacked us on 9/11? Chris Nowinski doesn't support America because he doesn't agree with Bush?

Chris Nowinksi, after Steiner gave that absolute load of crap, couldn't even defend himself verbally, which makes his side look terrible. And he's the heel, which gives his side of the argument little sympathy anyway, despite the fact that his argument was actually a lot more logical than Steiner's. It IS his duty as an American to state his opinion and he's getting booed for it.

That's my wrestling. :)

I don't think either guy won the debate. Harvard's use of free speech, the slippery slope, and the it's all about the oil argument didn't work for me.

Steiner's use of 9-11 is actually a mainstream pro-war argument. Many of my coworkers have argued that 9-11 changed everything and now we have to hit the terrorists before they hit us. The better to be feared than loved philosophy.

They should send these guys to debate on C-SPAN.

Since the coalition troops have already taken over baghdad, there's really no meaningful use for the debate. Its like having a debate over US involvement in vietnam 30 years ago.

Come on people, liberals and conservatives alike! Cant we just be thankful that Iraq is being liberated? Lets all get together and do what we all should be doing in the first place:

arguing about the 2000 presedential election.

Yeah because being associated with 3MW has been the "Midas Touch" for everyone previously associated with them...

Please...as soon as I saw them, I knew....Steiner's done. Welcome to the Heat match for Backlash!

"I would've liked a debate just to show how crazy stupid Steiner is. Something along the lines of...

[Nowinksi makes good speech]

Steiner [putting on reading glasses and clearing throat]: YOU SUCK."

Even though I agreed with everything Nowinski said, I would have marked out like a bitch if Steiner had done this. Fucking great idea.

I dunno, to me it seems like he's leading this group, and in a program with a major superstar. Yes, I know Steiner is not what he used to be in the ring, but he's still a top name. Putting Nowinski in there with him will make Chris look better for the future.

I don't think it will be a total squash on Steiner's part.
