What happpened with them? They were a pretty big team in ECW with a big feud against Public Enemy and then they turned face and seemed to be getting a big push. Then Mustafa just disappeared. From what I've read he was viewed as the "untalented" one (like New Jack was Bret Hart in there). Seems like there had to be more to it than that since there have been plenty of successful tag teams with mediocre members.

PS. No ECW icon? I guess it is just active promotions...

Mustafa's wrestling for a regional in the pacific northwest somewhere. Jack's doing indy bookings I think, based out of Cincy as I recall.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

I always kinda wondered what happened there too. I seem to recall Jim Cornette saying in one of his many shoot interviews that Mustafa was the one who had problems showing up to bookings when he had the Gangstas in SMW. Maybe Mustafa missed some shows and Paul E. got pissed at him and told him to go? Idle speculation, of course. But ECW was never the kind of place that did roster cuts. The guys who left either took a better paying job elsewhere or Paul E. fired them because they ruffled his feathers somehow (You decided to work a date in Japan instead? YOU'RE FIRED Sabu!).

Was it kayfabe that Mustafa ruptured his spleen in a match and that was what kept him out of ECW for a while?

I can't quote any real recent ones because I have moved to doing other things when he's on... but, back in syxx days on Nitro, he took the harlem hangover from the guys and kicked out.
