Now, I seem to recall the dipshits at 1wrestling.com making regular news reports at how Triple H has been auditioning in Hollywood for weeks with no results. Seems like - surprise! - the internet wrestling media didn't know the scoop after all.

Wrestling Star Triple H Pins First Film Roles
Tue Sep 16, 1:40 AM ET

By Josh Spector

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Hoping to fill Hollywood's current action-hero void, World Wrestling Entertainment star Triple H has signed on to a pair of high-profile roles.

He will topline "Jornada del Muerte," a modern-day Western from "Apocalypse Now" scribe John Milius, and will battle Wesley Snipes (news) in New Line Cinema's "Blade: Trinity."

"Jornada del Muerte" (Journey of Death) will be the first theatrical release from the recently formed WWE Films production banner. The project, which Milius said was written specifically for Triple H (whose real name is Michael Paul LeVesque) to star in, is described as a modern-day Western set in the Southwest that involves motorcycle gangs, drug trafficking and broken codes of honor.

"The WWE has a tremendous storehouse for heroic action stars in Hollywood, and Triple H has a great sense of humor and rare combination of accessibility and inherent nobility," Milius said. "He is a working man's hero, something that has been missing in movies for a long time."

While "Jornada" is the second project to be announced from WWE Films, following an action pitch from "Spawn" screenwriter Alan McElroy that the company acquired in July, it likely will be the first to hit theaters as the script is already in place. The film does not have a distributor at this point.

In "Blade: Trinity," Triple H will play one of the heavies who take on Snipes' vampire-hunter character in the third installment of the franchise. The film is being directed by David Goyer.

While Triple H has made several television appearances, "Trinity" will mark his first appearance on the big screen.

Milius, who earned an Academy Award nomination for his work on the "Apocalypse Now" script, also wrote and directed the 1982 action classic "Conan the Barbarian."

All the smarts in the world are now probably druleing over the prospect of Punisher pumping Hogan and Nash full of ammo, and Blade slicing Hunter in half with his kitana. Then of course Hunter could take over the Blade proudction and convince them that for an even cheaper budget they can give him him old man makeup and fire Kris.

The HHH as we know him now indeed isn't much of a working man.
The HHH that was on shows like Drew Carey and such however was one cool mofo. He had plenty of charisma when doing that character. If he can go back to that I don't know.

I assume in a non-wrestling setting he might.

However..a WWE made movie with HHH starring? How long before people will yell nepotism? (rightfully so?)
And how many will NOT go and see it just because Hunter stars in it..even if the movie would be great?!

*sigh* Why bother?

You do realize that one of the films is headed by the new WWE Films division. HHH didn't exactly have to head out to Hollywood to get his name attached to that one.

As for Blade, well, you got them there.

Triple H will never rise to a Rock-like level of Hollywood recognition, but there's nothing wrong with him doing character roles (eg Evil Henchmen # 3 in the Blade movie). Bash HHH all you like (and you all do; hell, I do too), but the film industry could do a lot worse than having a tall, overly-muscular, heelish-looking guy who can actually talk in non-starring roles.

That said, I doubt we'll ever see Woody Allen directing an Al Pacino-Triple H project anytime soon...

The Blade movie role makes sense as I remember the second movie feature elbow drops and at least one Rock Bottom.

I say good for Trips. It's a win-win situation for all sides. HHH gets some acting work, the WWE gets more mainstream attention, and we of course get limited HHH. This is also a great way to rehab the injuries, provided HHH gets a stunt man/body double. Hey, I hear Van Hammer needs work.

Molly, Stacy and Daffney all in WWE? I suddenly lost all my will to complain about anything regarding the WWE. Hope I don't lose my street cred for this.

Not to mention a pretty slick suplex from young Wesley.

I wonder if he thought about auditioning for Shrek 2 ;)

If you want him in good movies keep him away from Woody Allen, just about every one of his movies are same, it's like he's releasing sequel after sequel of a long story that sucks. I would put Woody in the bad movie hall of fame with the likes off Police Academy(though the first one ain't bad), and movies starring Hulk Hogan save for the Rocky movie he was in. Al Pacino is great but he's not immune to bad movies.
Frankly I would rather watch Trips in the Vagina Monologues(it would be hilarious) than see him in a Woody Allen movie or the kind of stuff that Hulkster and his agents have picked in the past. As far as charisma and ability I have no doubt he could succeed in those areas, it's his look and size that I think could be the draw back. I've done a little theater and have seen people start of alot worse than Trips and become very good, but with all of this news does anyone know if he has hired an acting coach or taken any kind of classes?

Inherent nobility???? What?

I always thought that if they made a movie about Ric Flair, Pacino should play him.
