Yes, it's that time of year again. The Fuzzies. The most pretigious music awards besides all those other ones.

Here's the deal. You get two - that's right TWO (2) - votes in each and every category. You can split them or, since I like your face, I'll even let you double them up into one SUPERvote for your very favorite. That's just the kind of swell guy I am.

How do you vote? Well, your best bet is probably to post your votes right here in this very thread. Or, if you don't want your fellow W's to know you share my shitty taste in music, a private message might do the trick. Or you can post them at my blog or my space, or write them down and hand them to me or, really, anything else you can think of. The voting continues until Tuesday, January 15, 2007 at, I dunno, noonish. Depends on what I'm working.

Also, and I can't stress this enough, you are strongly encouraged to spread this to as many people as humanly possible. As long as the votes get back to me, I don't care who fills this out. The more I get, the happier I am. And you want me to be happy, don't you? I'm going for a record number of votes this year, and I really think MySpace ought to help me out in that regard. Why do you think I even signed up for it? To meet fifteen year olds? That's barely got anything to do with it.

Anyway, without further ado, the nominees for the 2006 Fuzzies. (applause)

All of these votes are maximum weight (whether it be 2 or 3):

COMPILATION/SOUNDTRACK OF THE YEAR:
* "Dave Chappelle's Block Party" soundtrack

-I'm going to assume it has the full versions of the songs showcased in the movie, making it a must for any hiphop fan.

WORST MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR:
* "London Bridge", by Fergie

WORST SONG OF THE YEAR:
* "London Bridge", by Fergie

- I would put "Fergalicious" in here instead, but hey, they both suck.

NON-SINGLE OF THE YEAR:
Write in: *"Can't Forget About You," by NaS (Hip Hop is Dead)

WORST ARTIST OF THE YEAR:
Fergie

- Nobody took Federline seriously to begin with, so he's out. Fergie is pure garbage.

FUZZYMcHALL OF FAME NOMINEES:
Queen

As you can probably tell I'm not much up to date the rock/alternative scene, but at least now I've got a list of songs to check out.

BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST:

Jenny Lewis gets a vote because she was one of the stars of my favorite short-lived TV series, Shannon's Deal. Gnarls Barkly gets the other because "Crazy" is a good record and I liked the Gray Album.

COVER SONG/PARODY OF THE YEAR:

"Handle With Care" was very good (although I could have lived without all the other group members singing their bits) and I'm always happy to give a vote to the very handsome Weird Al.

COMPILATION/SOUNDTRACK OF THE YEAR:

I'm a huge Beatlefan, so Love gets a supervote.

WORST MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR:

I haven't seen many of these and none of the artists particularly annoy me, so I'll abstain.

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR:

The treadmills thing was brilliant, so OK Go gets a vote. (They did a nice version of "Father Christmas", too, BTW). And "White And Nerdy" was also brilliant--Donny Osmond, ROTFLOL and so on. No room for Dylan? Oh, well. OK Go and Weird Al it is.

WORST SONG OF THE YEAR:

Supervote for Nelly Furtado; she just annoys me.

NONSINGLE OF THE YEAR:

Johnny Cash and Neil Young

SINGLE OF THE YEAR:

Jenny Lewis and Pearl Jam

WORST ARTIST OF THE YEAR:

Taylor Hicks gets a vote because of that godawful car commercial. And K-Fed, for delusions of grandeur.

ARTIST OF THE YEAR:

Pearl Jam, even if they aren't quite back to the glory of the Vs. period.

WORST ALBUM OF THE YEAR:

K-Fed and Paris Hilton. At least when Shatner and Phyllis Diller and other celebs of that era attempted to sing, it had the so-bad-it's-funny appeal.

ALBUM OF THE YEAR:

Excellent list of nominees; I wouldn't have a problem voting for any of them. But I'll opt for Dylan and Pearl Jam.

FUZZYMcHALL OF FAME NOMINEES:

Can I do a supervote in this category? If so, two votes to the great Jerry Lee Lewis, and one to Neil Young. If I can't, then give the other vote to (hmmm...tough) The Cure. I love Ben Folds but I still just can't think of him/them as Hall Of Fame worthy just yet.

Eh, they're okay except, you know, for the sucking. It doesn't really matter - they're not going to "win" anything up against Fergie and K-Fed anyway.

Oooh, the Fuzzies...the REAL People's Choice Awards!

Breakthrough Artist:
Gnarls Barkley
Tv on the Radio
(all the kids sure seemed to like that Cookie Mountain album. The Jenny Lewis album I had high hopes for, and was underwhelmed.)

Cover/Parody:
Weird Al x2
(Somehow Al made the greatest artistic acheivement of our time even more sublime and profound.)

Soundtrack:
Beatles - Love
Nightmare Before Xmas
(Love was funky...plus I've heard good things about the show.)

Worst Video:
London Bridge x 1000000
(I kinda liked Panic, so they won't be getting any of these votes. Fergie is punishment for the sins of all mankind.)

Best Video:
Weird Al - "White and Nerdy"
(Tough category. I kinda grew tired of OK Go after a while. And Al has Donny Osmond AND Seth Green AND a Segway. He wins.)

Worst Song:
Fergie - "London Bridge"
Gwen Stefani - "Wind It Up"
(Putting MCR in this category makes me so unhappy. I love that song.)

Nonsingle:
Neil Young x2

Single:
Gnarls Barkley x2
(It was the song of the year, and even if it was overplayed, it was overplayed for a reason, and that reason was overwhelming awesomeness.)

Worst Artist:
Taylor Hicks
Fergie
(I would have given Fergie both votes, but those damn car commercials made me want to kill Taylor Hicks in many violent ways.)

Artist of the Year:
Dixie Chicks x2
(This vote isn't going so much for their music as for inexplicably becoming one of the most political bands in the country. Seriously, if you haven't seen "Shut Up and Sing" you should, it's excellent.)

Worst Album:
Fergie x2
(one vote for "London Bridge" and one vote for "Fergilicious" seems right.)

Album of the Year:
Johnny Cash x2
(Because he's Johnny Cash.)

HOF:
Willie Nelson
Ben Folds Five
The Cure
