There is no longer a Undisputed, floating champion, and it's clear that Stephanie and Eric haven't learned how to share (well, I guess Eric has learned to share his wife or something), so what's the fate of the Women's Champion?

There never was a reason to float this title and NOT the tag titles, so I guess it's time to complete the "brand extension" and find out where the women belong.

Last week, Trish, Stacey and Lillian teamed up to take on Fink because he was blond-bashing. Stacey is clearly a heel, so why did she team with the faces?

The women have slowly started standing together, and the past few weeks, Eric has done some crappy things to women's wrestling.

I'm home for the holiday, and watched Raw with my mom tonight. She hasn't seen wrestling in a few months (She's a Rikishi fan), and I was embarassed at how the women were treated on tonight's show. (Try having King yammer on about hymens with your MOM on the couch).

If anything positive is to come out of this recent raunchy (re)turn after the wonderful women's matches of a few months ago, it better be a mass exodus of women from Raw to Smackdown. Stacey can stay as she wouldn't be welcomed back by Steph (she was Eric's mole), but most everyone else should go.

Lita already showed up at Velocity (now that Matt's there), and if Trish, Molly, and even Victoria and Jazz joined an improving Torrie, Nidia, a hardcore Dawn Marie and a phenomenal Ivory, you'd have quite a division.

Raw can keep Terri (or take her out back and shoot her), Stacey, Lillian... hey, what happened to Jaqueline? or even steal Dawn Marie (since she hasn't wrestled in the WWE) and maybe make some valet acquisitions to keep eye candy, but the serious wrestlers need to get out now.

Note that this evens out the titles at 3 belts a show:

Raw: World Champ, Intercontinental Champ, Tag Champs

Smackdown: Heavyweight Champ, Cruiserweight Champ, Women's Champ

(I call it heavyweight, since it giveds SD some brand identity, in that the wrestlers are separated by weight class. On Smackdown, you strive to be the best in your weight class, while on Raw, you have to move up the card from IC to World).

And I'm sorry if this plan splits up Lillian and Trish (Maybe Lillian jumps too, Fink returns, and Schimel returns to hocking t-shirts)

On the McMahon family list of priorities, promoting women's wrestling is one step above unifying the midget world title in the main event at Mania. In other words, Vince has never cared, doesn't care, and in all likelihood will never care about women's wrestling.

Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.

Which is scarier: hearing Lawler shout "HYMEN!" repeatedly

Nope. This doesn't work. This is begging for stagnation. You'll have the heavyweight main eventers, the cruiserweight chamionship feud, and women's wrestling. While this sounds okay in the short run, you end up with the same people feuding over the same thing. See, there's nothing for the midcarders to compete for; if they're midcarders, it would only make sense for them to be seeking the IC title on RAW. Cruiserweights don't make credible heavyweight contenders (sorry, but it's true), and women sure as helll don't either.

So, week in and week out, the same 6 women feud for their title, the same 10 cruisers feud for their title, and the same 4 heavyweights feud for their title. No upward mobility = stagnation.

Let women's wrestling die. I don't even want it in the eye-candy form. Even if you just want T & A, there are better sources.

I am sad to say that I too think the "division" that existed earlier in the year is totally DEAD. I don't care what happens anymore, because the WWE has repeatedly forced us NOT to care about the women as competitors. (I still can't believe that hymen comment. Absolutely shocked me and made me feel dirty just watching it.) Yep, that's right, my days of caring about the womens division are OVER.

I'll just tune in to see Trish bump and hit people like a maniac (while doing D-Von impressions on the top rope which almost made me bust up last night!) and that's it. I'm out. The WWE lost another casual fan. GOODNIGHT!

I have to hope something happens soon, something compelling, that will make us care. I do not like how this is turning out.

That's why you should tape the show like I do - Nowinski says "hymen", and I move onto the next segment. I watched RAW in forty-five minutes!

Last night made me glad that Mrs. Shem did not happen to be watching with me on this occasion -- I'd never have heard the end of it.

As for the women's division -- I value (it would be more accurate to say valued) it as a change of pace on the shows, much like the cruiser division, or the hardcore division before out-of-the-ring brawls and plunder became part of every match.

And I'd much rather watch Trish, Molly, and/or Jazz work a match than, say, the Big Show.

Damn, I actually talked my GIRLFRIEND into watching wrestling last night, and we get "hymen" cracks, Molly getting pants, Trish mooning, and a "Lingire-Pillow Fight match." My protestations that "Wrestling isn't all that bad" certainly lost a ton of credibility....

You need more actual wrestlers among the women, first of all, to have much of a future, and sometimes I wonder if the average person in the crowd is going to much care to watch an actual women's wrestling match anyway. Think about how few actual women "wrestlers" there are, add to that the fact that I really think that that Vince and company truly believe they ARE giving us what we want, which is something for Jerry Lawler to drool over, and you have what we have now. Will it change? Do we want it to? Jazz vs. Molly or Jackie vs. Ivory might be a good wrestling match...but does it get the same kind of pop as Torrie vs. Stacey in a lingerie match, or does it get a dead crowd? I like good wrestling, but there is a bit of Jerry Lawler in most men, and while he truly gets on my nerves lately, I suspect he is not the only one going crazy over scantily clad females.

The women's division is clearly comatose at this point, but I don't know that that means its dead forever. If the players would just stop being so inconsiderate as to get hurt, it'd be much easier for the poor writers (ahem) to keep things going.

But the fact is that Lita & Jazz are injured. Linda Miles & Jackie Gayda are clearly not ready for prime time (yet?). Torrie also isn't ready to hang full time. WWE has committed to MTV that women are a part of TE, so that means Ivory's unavailable. Jacqueline seems to have fallen off the face of the universe. And Stacy & Terri are not there to wrestle.

That basically leaves us with the Molly & Trish show, which was getting really old *every* week.

So, what's the fed (The "ent" really doesn't work, does it?) supposed to do? Granted, "hymen-hymen-hymen" & oil-n-feathers pillow fights are *not* what the fed is supposed to do. But we need to be patient, let the injuries heal, & give the new kids some time before declaring the women's division irretrievably dead. Meanwhile, keep Trish & Molly working somehow.

And maybe-maybe-maybe someday, we'll get some retribution for all the mysogynistic stuff that's been going on. (I can hope, can't I?)

What is wrong with giving Victoria more of a role? Did she break her leg TOO or something? Crap, Ross even said that they liked her performance against Trish on RAW a month or so ago, and then she drops off the face of the planet. It's stuff like this that I just don't understand. I don't think it's due to injuries that the women are suffering right now--after all, Lita wasn't that great in the ring, and people didn't necessairly go crazy for Jazz. They could be using other people (What's wrong with Jaqueline?) to get involved in decent storylines, but they just don't want to. Rlbehan got it right--Vince DOES think this is what his fans want. Maybe it is, but if so then I definately won't go back to watching WWE.

Victoria vs Jacqueline will be on the next upcoming Heat.

Another problem is that there is no catty interaction between Molly and Trish since the 'fat ass' (ugh) segment. A feud is supposed to have speaking parts, right?

And 'hymen hymen hymen' was not exactly what Molly had in mind when she wanted her virginnity to be emphasized.

Ok, so I'm reading this entire thread ar once and here are all of my replies:

Even without the womens division on Smackdown, there still isn't any upward mobility. Case closed.

Bichoff did say that he and the fans weren't interested in seeing more than T&A. Makes you wonder if Steff'll obtain complete rights to Molly. And then all the women jumping ship would make sense. And you could balance out the switch with Billy and Chuck, and maybe some solid midcarders.

Women WRESTLERS in WWE right now

Molly
Trish
Victoria
Jacqueline
Nidia
Lita (injured)
Jazz (injured)
Ivory (TE)
The girls from tough enough (forgive me, I don't know their names) (training)

Now, to me anyway, that doesn't sound so bad. Lita and Jazz get back, these girls work on their mike-work a little (or in Lita's case, a lot), and we could have some excellent feuds going in this division.

Let's hope I'm right.

there are plenty of female wrestlers out there who could come in temporarily to fill the void, but then they would have to be let go once the veterans are back. but seeing as alot of them could outwork half the dead weight in the WWE (albert, big show,test...do i need to go on?) it would look bad on TV, so they don't do it. It's a simple as that. and while those of us who are a bit more into the product may actually like to see women WRESTLE, maybe Vince/Eric are right and that the casual fan who marks out for Hulk Hogan really only wants T&A and not real women's wrestling. WOW had the performers, and fans, it just had such horrid booking that they couldn't make enough people care about it. the key to a working women's division is the combination of good workers and good booking (and we know that the booking overall hasn't been stellar.)

I'm confused, Is it wrestling or just entertainment?
What does the WWE want? Why have a Championship if they aren't serious about woman's wrestling?

If the WWE want's to take this seriously, then why not create a woman's tagteam championship belt and have better storylines. That should give the womans division a boost (woops).

Oh well, maby I should just watch it and stop trying to analyse this...

It gives me a headache trying to figure it out. I think now Lawler is booking the women's division. It is the only explanation for the crap that has been on our TV's lately.

So the end of the show seems to be pointing at Cena/Kennedy one-on-one, maybe for next week. Umm...is that REALLY a good idea? Especially considering what happened LAST TIME Cena and Kennedy went one-on-one?
