>Saying that it isn't a Muslim ban because it doesn't affect all Muslims is like saying that the Holocaust wasn't killing Jews because they didn't kill all Jews.<

----------------------------------------

Wouldn't this rather extreme comparison fall under the category of 'Apples and Oranges'?

I agree it's extreme but the pattern of deception and outright lies along with ultra-nationalism certainly fits.

So, 7 coutnries banned from coming in for six months yet theres a equal amount (or close to equal) that won't take them either, that are literally right next door.

And almost every single one of those won't allow Jewish people immigrate either.

Yet saying we need to review everybody is a "BAN"?
Having to wait to be approved isn't inhuman, or banning them. Nor do any of those people who have yet to be issued a visa or a green card actually have any rights under our constitution.

Either way, the logical fix to this is to freeze ALL visa applications for six months worldwide. That way nobody can say you're picking on one group.

The countries that are next door to the affected areas are taking in refugees. Jordan is hosting six hundred thousand Syrian refugees, Turkey over eight hundred thousand, and Lebanon over a million, to say nothing of the many Palestinian refugees Lebanon was already hosting beforehand.

The United States, meanwhile, has taken in ten thousand Syrian refugees since the civil war there began. That's a quarter of how many Canada has taken in, despite the United States having ten times the population of Canada. It really is an embarrassment.

Yes, the people who are calling it a "ban" are ridiculous, unreasonable asses. No one should listen to them.

Even if they are the President.

Either way, this is going to end up in front of the SCOTUS.

It might go on to the Supreme Court, but the ninth circuit ruling today cited "numerous statements by the President about his intent to implement a 'Muslim Ban'" in upholding the injunction against the ban. So it seems that what Peter posted about has come back to bite Trump.

What a shock, someone who runs his mouth without thinking winds up having to eat his words. Will Trump learn from this, or will he double-down on the stupidity? I assume it'll be the latter.
