The guy can play. He probably could have eaten babies and shot puppies and still gotten drafted by somebody (Raiders?).
I'm sure White will get a lot of invites, but I really don't see him doing much. Right or wrong, the Big 12 has a bad QB reputation (Is there even a Big 12 QB starting in the NFL right now? A few backups, I think.) and White hasn't helped himself in the big games.
Of couse, I'd love to be wrong. He seems like a kid with a good head on his shoulders, and I don't recall him being any sort of an asshole. There's a chance he could be good; look at the QBs taken before Brady (Giovanni Carmazzi?). Maybe somebody's getting a steal.

I'm surprised that Michael Munoz, OT from Tennessee, didn't at least garner a late round pick. He had some injury problems this year, but people were talking this time last year about him being a late 1st rounder.

He will sign a multi-million dollar contract. I post on message boards late at night.

Ahem. I will be four years older than him a week from Tuesday. Sit down, ya whippersnapper.
As for McPherson, he did show he's capable of not sucking in Arena ball. More than he ever did at FSU, as I recall.

Saw the piece they ran on him on ESPN, and if he keeps himself together he should be a hell of a player with the Brownies. I am happy to see they got him, and THRILLED to see they snagged Frye in the third round. When asked how he was going to like throwing to Winslow, Edwards, and Northcutt, Frye paused and said, "Whoa!"
Droughns, Suggs, Terrelle Smith, Winslow, Northcutt, Andre Davis, & Edwards - the offensive specialists are *set*. If the line can hold together, all they need to focus on now is getting the defense to gel. Between all the changes there and the switch to the 3-4, there's just so much unknown in that area.
Overall, good job by the front office - no "panic" moves, no crazy trades, they did their scouting and stuck to their guns.

I was already three years into my first job after college when Alex Smith was born, youngster.

And don't forget about Antonio Bryant. They've got a pretty good group of skill position players going and made some moves to shore up the line. If Ryan Tucker comes back strong, the offense could be downright decent. The only thing I dislike about the Frye pick is I wish they had grabbed Darryl Blackstock with the No. 3, then either traded back into the third to grab Frye or gotten him in the fourth. But, there's always the possibility that somebody else would have pounced, so they made the safe move.
And I agree that the draft was handled well. I LOVE the first two picks and think they might have gotten a steal with Antonio Perkins. It's nice to see them drafting with a plan to get their type of players, as opposed to panicking and reaching for someone. And Simon Fraser might end up being a heck of a pickup as a free agent. I've spent the last four years watching the guy and he just plays hard all the time and very rarely does something stupid.
As for Michael Munoz, he's hanging it up. I don't blame him; that many knee injuries have to wear on a guy and I never really got the feeling that he had the love for the game. He was a big kid who was Anthony Munoz' son, so he played football. | SEADAWG

White has been invited to attend the Kansas City Chiefs three-day rookie minicamp that begins on Friday. But there remains this caveat: The Chiefs have not signed White to a contract and he will need an impressive performance to elicit a formal offer from a club that already has five quarterbacks on its depth chart.
I'm surprised that the NCAA didn't give him a pity 3rd redshirt.
I hope he can get signed. If I'm not mistaken, with the exception of Ward(?) who wanted to go to the NBA, White is the only undrafted Heisman winner who intended to play football and enter the common draft.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?id=2051504
The Chiefs were the only NFL team to provide White, the former Oklahoma Sooner who won the 2003 Heisman, an audition with its other rookies during mini-camp. Even so, officials have decided to take a pass on one of the college game's most prolific passers; he was not invited to Kansas City's mini-camp in June and it is uncertain now where, or even if, White will get another shot from the league that would warrant a contract for training camp.
