As a Browns fan, I would bust out The Dance of Joy if the Skins traded No. 9 and No. 25 for the No. 3 pick. I just hope Saban's bluffing. I like Edwards, but the Browns need players, period.

Ramsey doesn't SUCK, though. I think he just ran over Snyder's dog or something for the organization to have such a hard-on for pissing all over him.

True, but he will be another in the line of sucked here/ or went on and got better. (This has happened to the Bullets/Wiz too, we had Big Ben and Hamilton!!!)

Not since Mark Rypien (sp?) have we had a good QB.

Ferrotte, Shuler, Trent Green (left for KC and got better), Stan Humphries (left for SD and got better), Brad Johnson (won a ring with TB), Jeff George, Tony Banks, Shane FRICKEN Matthews, Sage Rosenfels, That other Gator, a Heisman, with Matthews who retired, The brother of the Seahawks QB.

Between the Bullets, Caps, and Skins sucking, all I've had to look forward to was DC United winning MLS Cups like they're freaking Brazil.

The Wiz might be different than the Bullets than just their name, the Nats have been in 1st or 2nd almost all of this short season, and the Skins might get a killer player. Sports life here in DC is getting good.

The draft so far:

1. SF - Alex Smith, QB Utah
2. MIA - Ronnie Brown, RB Auburn
3. CLE - Braylon Edwards, WR Michigan
4. CHI - Cedric Benson, RB Texas
5. TB - Cadillac Williams, RB Auburn
6. TEN - Pac-Man Jones, CB West Virginia
7. MIN - Troy Williamson, WR South Carolina
8. ARI - Antrell Rolle, CB Miami
9. WAS - Carlos Rogers, CB Auburn
10. DET - Mike Williams, WR USC

Thank god that Gruden & Allen didn't do anything crazy. I'm totally peachy keen on Cadillac. Now I have to worry about the rumors Peter King is spreading that we'll trade Simeon to Dallas for either this pick or the #20...

Batista & John Cena represent instant upgrades over their predecessors as world champions. However, there's still a general state of backlash around Cena and a specific state over the way he won (however misguided it may be), and the usual tag/cruiserweight complaints persist. The rematches should be interesting, however...

Mike Williams to Detroit?! If Harrington can't be successful with both Williamses and Kevin Jones as his skill players, PLUS Charlie Rogers for three games-a-year, he never will.

I feel sorry for the Bears. Suzie Kolber is interviewing Cedric Benson and all he can do is cry and talk about how he was 'insulted' by the pre draft interview process and how he was denied 'respect' for all he had done in college. That guy is a headache waiting to happen.

I'm not wanting to jinx anything, but there's a linebacker that's falling that I really want to fall about two or three more picks.

Hallelujah!

Chiefs pick up S Sammy Knight, DE Carlos Rogers, MLB Kendrell Bell, and CB Patrick Surtain in the offseason via trade/free agency, and draft OLB Derrick Johnson in the draft. This defense is going to be very different and very good this year.

He should have shut up when he had the chance. I'm sure he was emotional & it was a big day and all, but that incoherent babbling was just horrible.

And on a sidenote, I'm pretty excited about Pacman ... he looks like he might be taking a few punts to the house here in the Nash.

Yay, we have someone with the mental makeup of Rashaan Salaam, the dedication of Ricky Williams, the legal skills of Lawrence Phillips, and the speed and skill of Curtis Enis.

Maybe the Bears have a plan: Favre probably only has one more year of throwing hideous playoff interceptions in him, and his heir is afflicted with Tedford Syndrome. Likewise, despite all the offensive weapons the Lions have, their QB has Tedford Syndrome as well. Plus, the Lions are the Lions. Put in enough faith that Viking ownership or Mike Tice could screw things up, and the Bears use the rope-a-dope philosophy to the top of the division. Of course, if the Bears had a real QB they would be in better shape. Either that, or Bears management is run by untrained chimps, but I'm trying to give you the positive viewpoint. And, most importantly, at least they didn't draft Clarett on Day 1.

Great ... just f'n great ... I almost feel sorry for all of the backs that weren't drafted today having to watch as the last pick of the 1st day was Maurice Clarett ... and he'll go to Denver and have 1,000 season ...

Oh man, this is like the greatest draft ever. Seriously, Maurice Clarett? In the third round? Kind of bizarre since I'd be willing to be bet he probably would have been around on the second day and there's still several running backs left that AREN'T slow, overweight, headcases. I guess Shanahan is more GENIUSER than me.

And Troy Williamson over Mike Williams will make me giggle for years.

Poor Ernest Shazor.

Quote of the draft:

"The war may be over, but the battle has just begun." -- "Cadillac" Williams, RB with TB (formerly of Auburn) in reference to his bet with Ronnie Brown, RB with Miami (formerly of Auburn) as to who would be drafted first.

More Suzie wisdom when Cadilac said he had a bet with Brown, and then TWO QUESTIONS LATER, she asks "so, did you guys have any wagers on who would go first?"
Maybe SHE is the trained ape running the Bears.

If he wasn't taken by the Broncos with THE LAST PICK OF THE FIRST DAY, of course he would have been available on the second day. Not much of a bet there, Mr. Man.

I'm sure he meant around for Denver to take on the second day. And I tend to agree, I think he would have probably still been available in the late rounds for Denver to still take, and not had to use up a third-rounder for.

I bet Shanahan simply forgot there WAS a second day.

Nah. Official story is the Cowboys were going to take him in the fourth, and the Broncos didn't have a 4 nor 5.

In other news, the Ravens finally have a QB. Derek Anderson (ex-Oregon State) just closed out round 6.

I must say that Cleveland and Carolina made good QB picks... Charlie Frye's been mentioned in the same breath as Chad Pennington, and LeFors could be a beast, especially coming in there with no pressure. (However, Aaron Rodgers will still suck.)
