I wish nothing but the best for Steph and Paul in their marriage. I just don't want to see evidence of it on my TV screen.

| #43 Posted on 25.4.03 0748.51 | No one is saying anything about the fact that it may be HHH that needs to be prayed for. I don't know them personally or nothing like that, so I hope it works out. But I know you can only fake a character so far.
Meaning that if it is not in you, you really won't be good at it. For example, how good of a slut could Molly be? How much of a wanna-be rapper can Regal be? If the shoe don't fit...*shrugs*
Getting to the point though, Stephanie played a slut and an ugly, brutal, backstabbing, trashbag (whatever Jericho said) VERY well. That screeching voice and those unnecessary flashes called "accidents", forcing her way into our lives and Vince trying to make us love it. The way she would blatantly flirt with other wrestlers.
Imagine living with that, and knowing that you can't leave until your not needed anymore because YOU could be buried. Sure she might not always be like that, who knows. I guess you have to take the bitter with the sweet. What I saying is, this may not be a win/win situation for HHH. He may be getting what he deserves.
Another thing: Any of ya'll remember the Shane/Test feud. How when Test proposed, Shane ran into the ring pleading to Steph not to marry a wrestler. I think there was a little sincerity there. I do believe there may be enough going against them already.

So is Ed Norton a crazy-go-nuts white supremist, a schizophrenic office worker/serial bomber, or a retarded janitor/master thief?
Not that we're dealing with that calibre of actro here but come on its acting. You have lines, you read them. If you're good at it people buy into it. If you're not, they don't. Judging by your attitude to Steph she's obviously pretty decent at it.

It is a tv show. They are not your friends. You do not know them. We've all seen the threads about "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything." Well, the criticism of that idea is valid pertaining to the tv show, but not to two people's private lives that you don't know anything about. | #48 Posted on 25.4.03 1004.26 | Man, Tenken, I hope you ain't talking to me. I'm presenting a different possible scenario. Believe it or not, Steph was pretty believable at her job. Like I said, I don't know them personally, and could really care less. I'm adding to the discussion. She was really good at her acting job, better than most people would be.
Now dMr, the Ed Norton thing is not a fair comparison, he's a very talented and believable actor. Not one dimensional like Ben Stiller or Roseanne Barr or somebody. Steph is alright, but she stilll played a o.k "good girl" but very good "bad girl". Those rich-girl tantrums seemed pretty real y'know?
I know the difference between fake and real. Read the post again if there was a mis-understanding. I'm not knocking their relationship. I'm just saying that it may not be so perfect that other people have to hate it.

| #49 Posted on 25.4.03 1021.28 | I think the best thing that could happen is if they get married, go on a honeymoon cruise and get shipwrecked on a deserted island where they live happily ever after, or at least for twenty years until HHH can no longer wrestle.
Unfortunately, this marriage has disaster written all over it, regardless of wether they are in love or not. Bottom line is not only will they be married, they will also work together. How often does that work? So they will be living together, working behind the scenes (lets hope for the good of the company) together and possibly on screen together. YIKES! I have been married for 9 1/2 years. I love my wife very much, but if I had to get up in the morning, take the train into the city together, work together, take the train home together and then have dinner and unwind together, I think I'd go crazy. In addtion, they are both going to be responsible for making sure the WWE makes money and stays on top. What happens if in 5 years, NWA-TNT is on USA and pulling in tons of viewers? You think that won't cause even more stress? Unless HHH retires from wrestling and concentrates on the business end (ie Linda) or Steffo drops out all together and spends her time rasing the kids, I see no hope for either of them. And the scary thing is, they will make it part of a sick story line to pump up their 2.1 ratings.
I hope for the sake of love (if they are in love) that it works, but the skeptic in me feels HHH is in like with Steffo and in love with power. But I could be wrong. I do not know him or wat to know him. It is my opinion.

However, this is the real concern: Considering Trip's Kayfabe Demands plus who the head writer is, will we the fans be subjected/tortured by a multi-month romantic reunion for the couple (encompassing RAW and SD) prior to their marriage date?

| #55 Posted on 25.4.03 1904.31 | In my humble opinion its just sad to wish harm upon two people who are most likely in love with each other because of a weekly show you have tendency to watch for 2 hours and then criticize because "oh he's holding guys down" well I ask you just put that aside.
This is about two people,Paul Levasque and Stephanie McMahon. Yes they work in the same arena. Yes it looks like it could be the end of wrestling as we know it but I just doubt it. I think (emphasis on think,I don't know if they love each other or not and even HHH has enough knowledge to know not to marry someone he doesn't love) that they are in love, they will live happily ever and wrestling will move along, just as it always was. People will obviously point out the semi related things as 3rd and 4th hand sources note them.

Maybe once the vows are made he'll be able to say "I'm set for life, so what if the on-screen guy takes some hits now?"

If Triple H isn't secure with his job now, then he won't be when he is actually married. I mean, he's dating the boss' daughter for christ's sake! Does he really think Vince is gonna' push down to the opening match or even fire him? If Triple H is this insecure now, I don't think a ring on their finger is gonna' change him anytime soon.

Gosh, and you sure are defensive about a situation that has nothing to do with you. I can't even picture Trips himself getting this hung-up about it. Our not agreeing with someone's marriage is wishing ill on them? Maybe some of us weren't as serious as we sounded. But you know, we do have a right to disagree with something. I'm not going to wish them a happy marriage if I don't genuinely feel that its a good thing. I see a higher purpose to this, and as I have no proof of there being one, you also have no proof of there not being one. We're all allowed to speculate are we not? If we need to grow up, then you need to grow up double. Stop telling me how to think. I already know I'm bitchy sometimes, but that's my perrogative, k?

I mean, it's not like the WWE's been doing great the past few years. What difference will it really make if they get married?
Worst case scenario: They break up and she dates another wrestler/writer. This really doesn't change much.
