I keep thinking this show's about to turn the corner, but this episode didn't do it for me, either. And that says a lot for me, considering how much I've loved Cleveland and Cleveland Jr. so far.
I still appreciate trying to establish new characters for the show, but the deformed coach feels like he was put in for shock value more than anything else. But I'm starting to love some of the other recurring characters like Wally Farqua and Oliver the deaf jock.
The cast is good enough to make some funny episodes, but the writing hasn't quite caught up yet. A baseball episode isn't going to do it.
The first half of the film felt really disjointed. Bale was originally offered the role of Marcus because Conner was going to be a minor character. After the script was done, Bale and Nolan expanded Conner's role and it really felt like he was tacked on....
