Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura checked himself into North Memorial Hospital today after experiencing discomfort in his lungs.

A statement released by the governor's office said the condition is related to a recurrent blood clot in his lung.

Ventura is said to be in stable condition and good spirits. He has cancelled his scheduled appointments and duties for the rest of today and tomorrow.

Well, Ventura DID retire because of blood clots in his back.

I wonder if he has any in his lungs.

I hope not. That could be fatal. We just lost McDaniel, Thez, and Bulldog this year. I DON'T want to add Ventura to the list!

More details...

In 1984, Ventura was rushed to the hospital in San Diego with a pulmonary embolism. Because the treatment of the blood clot required blood thinners, any bleeding in the ring could have been dangerous as the blood wouldn't clot normally.

It has been a recurring problem throughout his life. It is said to have been as a result of exposure to Agent Orange in vietnam. He was forced to retire from active wrestling because of it.

Hope Jesse gets better. He is one of few solid moderate voices left in this world going to extremes.

That would be the famous Attitude vignettes. If you have any home video releases from that time period, you might have a chance to see one or two.
