from 1wrestling:

"Sources have told 1Wrestling.com the Smackdown creative team has discussed a storyline for Kidman and Paul London that appears to have started with their match last night against the Basham Brothers.
The plan that has been discussed is to continue to team Kidman and London for several weeks while building to a possible breakup between the two that would be related to both men using the "Shooting Star Press" as their signature move."

This might be interesting (if true) ... I'd like them to build momentum as a tag team, therefore a feud would mean something ... but it probably won't ...

That would be a decent little undercard feud. They could hit stereo Shooting Star Presses and start winning some matches but Kidman grows more and more aggrivated that this young punk is showing him up.

Sure, it'll probably all happen on Velocity but it's better then what they're doing with the two of them now.

There would be nothing wrong with this being a Velocity feud in my book, at least that would give people a reason to want to watch velocity.

Cruiserweight feuds don't have to take place on smackdown if they don't have the time, but don't waste everyone's time by filling up Velocity with 5 Big man kills Cruiser matches.

If Velocity had any focus,or had any unique reason to tune in, like a feud like this, then people would tune in.

Sounds like a good enough reason to start a feud. Maybe they'll even get over in the process, necessitating a tag title reign...

As for Velocity, I'd like it if the FBI had a featured comedy role in backstage skits and vignettes. Their gimmick can be endlessly mined for comedy hijinks...

Once the feud has been going for a bit, they should have John from Tough Enough 3 come in and make fun of them for having to go off the top rope to do a Shooting Star Press. He looked to be progressing nicely in his Heat tag team match with Matt Capotelli against Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak several weeks ago.

Paul London actually does a standing SSP, he did one against Nunzio on a match on Velocity.

I'd say add this one to the No Way Out card for sure. A good match for cruiser fans. But with Rey-Chavo in the build will they but two cruiser matches on 1 card considering another 1 will probably be on heAt??

...and that's the bottom line cos jk sed so

I don't know about No Way Out....I'd say they should team for a few months, then one of them turn....It'll have more impact than trying to pull it off in a few weeks.

#1 I think London's SSP is better then Kidman's because he appears to have alot more hang time while Kidman always seems to need to pull his opponent close to the ropes to hit his.

#2 They should win the tag titles. This feud IMO should not happen for a LONG time.

#3 Torrie Wilson/Kidman marriage or at least relationship should be acknowledged.

#4 NEVER give Kidman the mic.

#5 This was 1wrestling??? I doubt the story in its entirety.

Yeah, either no one is listening to Vince don't talk to the internet decree, or 1wrestling has decided to jsut start making stuff up.

Problem...people haven't had reason to care about Billy Kidman for eight months. WWE fans have never had reason to care a lick about Paul London. This feud will not inspire anyone to watch Velocity who doesn't already watch the show.

I like the idea of using them as a tag team, and love what someone said about them using a stereo SSP as a finisher. Give them a reason to get together as a tag team and you could have an exciting new duo in the works (and forgive me if I get more excited over the idea of a Kidman/London vs. Akio/Sakoda tag title feud than more Bashams vs. APA or FBI).

Thing is, if you do this match at No Way Out you probably get about six minutes and a **1/2 match that no one will remember or care about, resulting in the writers saying "oops, pushing them was a waste" and six more months of Velocity duty. If this match is to mean anything - and I mean anything - it can't happen before Judgment Day. Anything sooner would be rushed, and a wasted opportunity.

I havent cared about Billy Kidman since he was sitting in the crowd on Nitro and scratching himself all over in his promos for Iron Eagle III on Thunder.

That's it in a nutshell. Hardcore wrestling fans kinda get into a myopic state of mind where they're all "battle of the SSP! I smell money!" No, that'd be the smell of money burnt up pushing a feud that will make Middle America stand up as one and say "uh ... neat. Where's the Rock?"

Keeping them as a team is harmless enough and if they could do CROSSING stereo SSPs, that'd be hella tight.

Aside: how could the WWF rip off the Ultimate X match? Could they just go ahead and put a big 'ol X up there and call it the "X Marks The Spotfest" match, or would they have to make it a different shape, like a cross or a triangle or a weiner?

stereo ssp's on different opponents I hope as opposed to the same guy cuz they would die in a collision of massive boredom

What about Brock!? Three way dance!

Seriously though, when you're already planning a teams breakup before you've even put them together then I think they're doomed to pull the trigger on the breakup way too soon. They'll probably just tag for two weeks and then break up giving us no reason to care.

Well, it seems everybody got all negative all quick...

We all lamented the demise of London/Spanky, so instead Billy Kidman was inserted into the spot. We lamented Billy's perceived lack of personality, so the storyline about a Shooting Star Press rivalry was conceived as a way to remedy the problem.

And it's time to play Kidman apologist yet again. The guy can be an effective face in the cruiserweight division, if he was ever actually given a consistent persona. They were pushing him as RVD's slacker buddy for a while. Then he was Torrie Wilson's platonic friend. Later, they were trying to make him cocky and jealous of Rey Misterio's success. Then he was Rey Misterio's buddy. If this angle actually leads to character-building for both Kidman and London, then that's a good thing.

But I must mention that they need to do this right. There are a few heel tag teams that they can be programmed against to get their exposure. They can win the tag team titles after Wrestlemania, and they can break up in the Springtime. Then they can feud until Summerslam...

I'm a Kidman fan, and I think that he can be effective in the cruiserweight division. I don't really know why he isn't getting a push, other than he's kinda vanilla (nobody thought that when he had long hair). I don't even remember how the Rey-Kidman feud ended....seems that they cut it off pretty quick (or did Kidman get hurt?). But until WWE gets behind the C'weight division, Kidman will be one of the ones left back.

Which brings up an interesting dilemma. Let's look at the nine cut: Test, A-Train, Gunn, Palumbo, Nidia, Gail Kim, Jazz, Rodney Mack, and Johnny Stamboli.
