With 2 episodes to go this season, my thought is that I'll start a PB thread on a Tuesday afternoon, so that I'll have enough time to add 2 replies to it myself by the end of the season and make the thread seem more popular than it is. Come on, I know you watch it. Say something! I won't stop touting this show as having some of the best-written characters on TV. It's also my favorite new show of the past couple of years. Are there any major complaints about the show? Did you stop watching?

Some topics of discussion:

Bellick gets tied up and thrown in the tunnel. Ridiculous plot thread?

Hey, Bellick lives with his mom.

What's going through Michael's head as it pertains to Tweener?

Abruzzi's back and has been in control of Michael since day 1, but will Nick betray the boss? V-Dub.

About that little musical montage at the end: very well done, but it made me feel like I was supposed to root for guys like Abruzzi and T-Bag to escape...but they're just gonna kill people once they do. *That* was a little weird.

Michael vs The Pope - did not see that coming. How the hell is *that* gonna play out?

Promote this thread!

I might add more comment later, but I was pissed off about this show last night.

All week, the ads said the prisoners break out this week, showing clips of them running, climbing, etc...

I watch the entire show, then see a preview for next week showing the same damn thing. They didn't escape last night!!!

Anyways, I thought the show was excellent. Nice shot to Bellick's head with the fire extinguisher, but I would agree that him being in the tunnel missing all day is a bit of a stretch.

As for what is in Michaels head, there seems to be a lot that none of us would ever even consider, so I won't even hazard a guess.

They did a good job turning Abruzzi heel after his return. Before his throat slashing, he was 1 cool mofo. Now, he's pretty easy to hate on. What's the deal w/ trying to nab Veronica, though? I take it the plan is to hold her to insure he can get the whereabouts of Fibonacci out of Michael.

And that montage was pretty fantastic. It's a shame T-Bag is probably a goner, because the character is loads of fun.

I hope Westmoreland pulls through, or at least to the point where he can see his daughter 1 last time. With the teasing in the previews, I'm thinking they'll swerve us and have him make it out alive.

I'm guessing T-Bag will make it farther than anyone is thinking. There has to be a reason they showed that family and the napkin with the address.

Count me in the camp that says Westmoreland doesn't make it out the doors.

Can Dr. Tancredi get back to the prison in time to open the door? I think she'll get there and wind up joining them once they become fugitives.

I'm not sure what we're supposed to feel for Tweener (quite the aptly named character...) On the one hand, it looks like Michael took pity on him after Bellick dicked him over, but on the other hand, HE'S A RAT!!! I wonder if he's been thrown in to add some fodder for the escape, or if Michael is knowingly going to sacrifice him at some point as part of the plan.

C-Note throwing peroxide in the guy's eyes was cool, but shouldn't that have drawn more attention to him.

I'll admit I fell for the swerve that Michael wasn't supposed to be in Pope's office then. I'm not sure how he expects Pope to help him get his brother out -- either he has to leave Pope to be with his brother, at which point Pope can issue an attack order, or he's going to be wandering the halls with a hostage, which will only make the escape plan that much tougher to execute.

I have a feeling that the three seats on the plane are explicitly for Michael, Lincoln, and Veronica (once Abruzzi has Fibonacci's address).

There needs to be a Prison Break video game, if only so you can play to the point where you smash through the floor (keep pressing circle) only to come upon a pissed off Bellick to fight. Press square to taunt: "You live with your mom!"

Did they have to use "Teardrop" in the musical montage? It's not as if it isn't the theme song to one of your network's most popular shows or anything, guys.

My wife loves Abruzzi. He has been mellow since his return, or so we thought.

Yeah, Bellick living with mom is priceless.

I am confused about Tweener. Michael has to know that Tweener was the one that told Bellick. Maybe he will tie Tweener up in the tunnel with Bellick as they go by.

So... they're out of the prison.

So much for Westmoreland. The best part about that scene was T-Bag licking his lips when he told everyone about the $5 million.

Bellick's look of surprise when he saw that Tweener was in on the plan was fun. Still, if Tweener and everyone get away and then Tweener goes off on his own, never to be seen again, I'll be happy.

That was quite fortuitous for Michael that they did have Bellick trapped down there to be able to take his clothes. Couldn't Michael have given Tweener his whites, so that they wouldn't nearly get caught? The Psyche Ward guard was so dumb to give Michael the medicine. Still, that exchange was fun.

So much for Nick. Ever since his heel turn I can't say I've been happy with the character. At least he sorta redeemed himself by letting Veronica go.

And now the Veep is likely to be under attack by the people she's been working with? This conspiracy is crazy. I almost get the feeling that this is all supposed to lead to a Kellerman face turn, so that he and Michael can team up.

Next week should be insane.

Yeah, I'm not sure about this. Bellick wasn't part of the plan - he was just a bonus. Knowing about Bellick, Michael could have given Tweener his whites back in the cell. But maybe Michael was accounting for the possibility that Bellick wouldn't be there by the time the crew got to the spot. The original plan was for everybody (including Michael) to pass themselves off as J-Cats, right?

In that vein, the best part of this episode was the notion that Michael was really off on his math, because EIGHT people made it across in 15 minutes, when Michael claimed seven COULDN'T get across in 18 minutes. Or, he flat out lied, hoping someone would've shanked T-Bag way back when.

Poor Manche. What were you thinking?

My stomach was tied in knots for the entire episode.

I'm surprised to see so much continued love for this show, as I've completely turned on it. When it first came out, I thought it was incredible. It was different from most things on TV and the thought of Michael using a new tattoo every week to plan his escape kept me coming back for more. Plus, it was a fairly intelligent show, especially compared to most of the alternatives on TV, and they did a very good job of quickly developing characters you could care about.

Since it came back from the break, though, it has seemed like a completely different show. I don't know if it's because I was spoiled by 24 or not, but it seems to have lost everything that made it unique and different. I think the biggest flaw is this overall conspiracy. The reveal of Lincoln's father was the worst part. I liked it a lot better when Linc was just a random pawn, rather than them trying to get back at his dad. Bellick finding the tunnel and Michael pulling a knife on the Pope almost made me walk away, but I've come too far to quit now. Overall, it's just disappointing. Prison Break was a show I enjoyed for being different; now it just seems like more of the same.

What's wrong w/ Michael pulling a knife on Pope? He obviously didn't want to do it, but what other choice did he have? Linc is locked away in solitary, so he had to get him out somehow. That was really the only way.

But what if the Pope didn't call him to his office? Maybe I'm slightly confused on this count; did Michael actually need that piece from the Taj Mahal or did he just take it so the Pope would call him down? But even then, that still seems very haphazard to me, especially compared to the original tone of the show. I'll watch next week because, again, I've come this far but it'll have to be one hell of a cliffhanger to get me to watch next season...

The piece of the Taj that Michael took was essential for the model to be structurally intact. He guaranteed himself a return trip to the Pope's office. That Pope was building a model of the Taj Majal in the first place and that he asked for Michael's help is the more convenient point here. How would Michael have scouted the streets outside the prison back in the beginning if he didn't have access to the Pope's office?

What would have happened if Sara hadn't left the infirmary door unlocked? Michael's backup plan hung by some very loose threads.

In fact, both of Michael's plans (the original and the backup) depended on a LOT of things falling into the right place at the right time. There has been a huge lack of believability the entire season when it comes to the escape plan. The big difference between Michael's two plans is that the backup plan completely fell apart before it even had a chance to get off the ground. What ended up being the biggest key to Michael's success (getting admitted to the Psych Ward) wasn't even planned. And he's had to improv a lot this time around.

Having done some work on prison security in the past, there would be enough cameras around that at about ten different points last night, Michael and crew should have been caught, let alone earlier in the season. Much like with 24, I've long ago accepted that to truly enjoy this show, you just need to throw reality out the window and go with what happens.

So, where does everybody stand now at the end of the first season?

* Westmoreland died.
* Sara OD'd. Is she dead?
* LJ's still in jail, I guess.
* Nick's still dead, but did Abruzzi's goon hear Veronica's message?
* Veronica comes face to face with Steadman.
* Madam Veep (with Kellerman at her side) becomes the 46th President after a little "accident" to the sitting President.
* Tweener's on his way to St. Louis?
* Haywire's biking along merrily, minding his own business.
* Handless T-Bag needs some medical attention.
* Bellick and the Pope are out for blood.
* And finally, Michael, Linc, Abruzzi, C-Note and Sucre are left running for their lives.

That was certainly an interesting route to take at the end. It seems obvious that the show will pick up right where it left off when it comes back. I'd love to see how the Final Five get away, if they do.

Abruzzi vs T-Bag was stellar.

Great show, great season - second season has the potential to be even better.

I find it amusing that they 2 guys they kicked out of the group, Tweener & Haywire, appear to be safely getting away, yet the rest (minus Teabag) are close to getting caught.

Maybe I am a sucker for a happy ending, but did they have to kill off Sarah? I hope she isn't dead. The cop said "possible DOA".

How many people out there thought when the chemist said it was treason thought the VP was going to bumped off? She is more devious than I gave her credit for.

Veronica just walking right into Stedman's house is stupid. She is unarmed walking into a house she only thinks is connected.

I was wondering about LJ too. When is his court appearance? So much for a speedy trial.

They got me on that. Good swerve, I totally didn't see it coming.

I hope Sara recovers. Michael has to get himself some o' that.

Westmoreland dying was a bummer. I was hoping he'd hang on long enough to get some medical attention.

I won't try to put these in any particular order, but I loved both of the first two X-Men films, Iron Man, every Batman film except Batman and Robin (though I feel The Dark Knight was the best of the bunch so far), Superman I, II and Returns.
