With 'Mania just a week away, the WWE has compiled a list of the Top 33 WrestleMania matches in history.

http://www.wwe.com/shows/wrestlemania/article/33-best-wrestlemania-matches

My personal takeaway? Punk-Taker is waaaay to low (but that's probably due to Punk walking) and with no Benoit, you lose a Top 3 'Mania match ever. I think their Top 5 is pretty solid, even if I'd rearrange it a bit.

JerichoFan717's Top 5 would be

1) HHH vs. Benoit vs. HBK WM 20
2) HBK vs. Taker WM 26 (thought the psychology was loads better than the first)
3) Austin vs. Rock WM17
4) Austin vs. Bret WM13
5) Savage vs. Warrior WM7

Honorable mention: Warrior vs. Hogan, Savage vs. Steamboat, HBK vs. Y2J

What say you, fellow W's?

It's been awhile since I've watched a lot of these, but I would switch the highly overrated Iron Man Match at #8 with the highly underrated Reigns vs Lesnar at #21. I also liked Edge vs Undertaker more than this list did. I also like the Danial Bryan three way better than the Benoit three way.

I also didn't see Austin vs HBK in the Mike Tyson match that wasn't great but it kicked off the new era, new attitude and was a gutsy performance by Michaels on this list which is surprising. It was certainly better than Piper vs Goldust, which was trash.

I've always thought it was ironic that HHH vs. HBK vs. Benoit is clearly HHH's best Wrestlemania match in a terrible, terrible Wrestlemania career and yet they have to pretend like it never happened.

Speaking of Benoit's missing matches. I haven't seen them in a long time because admittedly it's hard to watch him wrestle, but I remember loving Benoit vs. Angle vs. Jericho Wrestlemania 2000 and Benoit vs. Angle in 2001.

Austin vs. Bret submission match is my favorite match of all-time so I'd definitely put that number one on my personal list.

1. Lesnar v. Angle (XIX) (shame about the ending)
2. Mick Foley v. The Rock v. The Big Show v. HHH (XVI) (it was all about the build to me -- their four way feud was what made me a wrestling fan)
3. The Dudley Boyz v. Edge & Christian v. The Classic Hardyz (XVII) (made even better by how all of their careers evolved afterwards)

Wrestlemania XX main event would be my number one. Having said that Savage/Steamboat, Bret/Austin and all of WM X-7 is a close runner up.

Holy crap, that ending. I still remembering shouting OH SHIT out loud as he was in mid-air and it was clear he was NOT going to complete the move. My friend's wife came running into the room because she thought I'd broken something. lol.

That said, I thought Brock's comeback angle was kinda lame, including the "I fell on me noggin" line and talking about how Angle was the only one who visited him in the hospital making him question things. But yeah, scary moment in the match.

I actually think Angle/Lesnar is one of the most underrated Mania matches ever since the botch is the only thing people remember. If Lesnar actually hits the move, it has a good case for being #1 on the whole list.

The Iron Man match was mediocre, I'm sorry.

George Michael weighed his options. Maeby had chastised him for not taking risks, and what would be a bigger risk than perpetuating a lie about software just to ignite the passions of a woman? Of course it would be a lie, and since Maeby wouldn't know it was a lie, he wouldn't appear to be taking a risk. Perhaps the bigger risk was to tell his father he was lying, that he came up with it because he wanted his father to leave so he could enjoy what remained of his senior year. After all, he wondered, wouldn't that be the course of action taken by an overtly sexual man, a man who owns a pair of matador pants? He had not responded now for 41 seconds according to his unfailing internal clock, and it was time to come clean.

My personal choice for most underrated would be Angle/Guerrero from WM20 - it just got overshadowed by the phenomenal main event.

My Top 10 in no particular order:
Austin/Rock, WM-X7
HHH/Michaels/Benoit, WM20
Guerrero/Angle, WM20
Taker/Michaels - II, WM26
Money in the Bank, WM21
Savage/Steamboat, WM3
Owen/Bret, WM10
Michaels/Ramon, WM10
Taker/Michaels - I, WM25
Bret/Austin, WM13

If it was "biggest" or "most important" WrestleMania matches, I'd buy 'Taker vs Lesnar being on there. As for "best", however, the match sucked. Not because of the ending but because of everything before that. Of course, with 'Taker being concussed early on, it probably should suck.

If 'Taker vs Lesnar deserves to be on the list, Hogan vs Andre sure as hell does too.

I assume Vince McMahon must have a special erection for the Hollywood Backlot Brawl and they felt obligated to include it for that reason.

Was HHH vs Jericho any good? I know the build up to it was horrible but I don't think I've ever heard anyone compliment the match itself. With those two, I'm sure it probably was decent at worst, but does it really deserve a spot on this list?

I'd say it's good, not great. That was one of the more peculiar picks. As I said before, Hunter doesn't have a great WM resume so maybe they reached just to put him on the list again? I think there are better options than that one though.

And when it comes to Jericho? If you ranked Jericho's best WM matches I don't think this match would make the top half.

As an (obvious) Jericho mark, I'd say it's lower on the list of his 'Mania matches. In one of his books, I believe he recalled a conversation with Triple H after Rock/Hogan and realized they were going to have a nearly impossible time following that. That and the fact the result was a foregone conclusion really hurt the match.

To me, his order goes:

Jericho vs. HBK Mania 19
Jericho vs. Edge Mania 26
Jericho vs. Christian Mania 20
Jericho vs. Punk Mania 28
Jericho vs. Styles Mania 32
Jericho vs. Angle vs. Benoit Mania 16
Jericho vs. Triple H Mania 18
Money in the Bank 1 Mania 21
Jericho vs. The Legends Mania 25
Money in the Bank 2 Mania 24
Jericho vs Fandango Mania 29

No Jericho vs. Regal to open WM 17? I quite enjoyed that match myself.

And this is what I get for trying to recall them all off the top of my head. Remember kids, Google is your friend.

I'd put Regal/Jericho in between Jericho vs. Angle vs. Benoit and Jericho vs. Triple H.

How about creating the best Mania card possible from over the years, but a wrestler can not appear more that once?! Not easy and might need some (a lot of?!) thought but might be interesting.

Or a waste of time!
