As soon as Rikishi and Goldust were announced as the first 2 participants, did anyone else think that Goldust would get a stinkface...and enjoy it?

Yes! That was the first thing I thought of too. I was surprised later on as well, because I thought for sure Goldust would have some sort of interaction with Billy and/or Chuck.

There're two ways they can go with the whole Taker/Maven elimination controversy.

One, they can just go ahead and say that Taker tossing Maven out after he was already eliminated counts as an elimination. (See Hogan/Sid Justice in '92, for example, or Taker getting taken out by Giant Gonzales who wasn't even IN the match...) Precedent seems to lean toward this.

Or two, they can go the "Final Four" route and claim that, since Taker *was* eliminated, Maven's elimination was illegal, and that HHH's win is "tainted" because of it... thus setting up a triple-threat match between HHH, Taker, and Maven (in a full body cast) either on RAW or at the next PPV.

Personally, I'm hoping for a six-month Maven/Undertaker feud, where Maven keeps getting beaten worse and worse until he ends up little more than a wrestling zombie, getting up mechanically to keep on fighting... and so the tale of Dead Man, Inc. comes full circle.

::hopes against hope that Maven's practicing his Sit-Up RIGHT NOW::

"Even Vince did the best selling of Flair's figure four in years and almost makes up for Russo's hideous performance when he was booking."

-Consider that Vince is the third booker/promoter/president/writer/whatever that Flair's gone against, and is pretty much the first to actually job to Flair. Bischoff beat Flair first before losing to him (with Savage's interference), and Russo booked himself to retire Flair. So Flair finally managed to beat a booker clean. Hate to say it, but that's why legends should not get in the ring over 50, and actually be willing to do whatever the booker says, "for the good of the company".

And Nate, that Maven Dead Man idea rules. Totally classic.

#5: Someone at my house watching and actually CALLED Bradshaw's entrance.

Loosie, my brother called Bradshaw's entrance, too! Actually, it was in answer to my question when I looked at the ring and asked, "Well, what fat, slow guy are they going to bring in next?"

I called The Godfather`s entrance and one or two as well, I think in a row. I kept expecting the Big Show or Kane to show up much earlier than they did though.

Come on give the women's match more love, it was great, the crowd was actually into more then some men matches (and not for normal reasons) They worked a 7 minute match, both wrestled well.. And my girl Trish actually was selling her hand injury during the match, ahh do I luv her. Great effort.. Best women match since Steph v.Trish about one year ago.

Now to the actual Royal Rumble.

There was a lot I didn't like in the Rumble.

-RVD looked like a month ago being in the World title match with Jericho now gone in 90 seconds.
-Booker gone in 60 seconds and has a moran gimmick.
-Test gone in 60 seconds and Taker was being pushed as the monster (like her really needs it)
- No smaller talented mid-carder (RVD would be obvious, I wouldn't mind Storm or Christian either) flucking it out by coming early (first 5) and staying late(final 5) by pure fluck (matel, perfect did that years back, I always liked that).. They are doing less of that now they seem to like having a monster coming in at the middle and cleaning house.

What I did like... Mr. freaken Perfect in the final 3 how cool was that, my biggest pop by me in the night was when he was almost eleminated and stayed on by a holding on the rope and coming back in.. He came in during H/Austin were eleminating everyone coming in and I was pissed thinking he'll be just another thrown out in 30 seconds guy, but it didn't happen so it was cool.

Crazy Line of the night, King saying "How annoying would it be if I scream What after every sentence"- I screamed IT IS ANNOYING AND YOU SCREAM PUPPIES YOU JACKASS.

Folks, that was the best thing I've seen since Wrestlemania. What a PPV! I haven't had so many mark-out moments in forever, especially for the four Rumble returns and the Maven saga.

Line of the night: Lawler, "Of course, the undisputed champ knows that you're supposed to put people through the SPANISH announce table!"

Cool things:
Kane carrying Big Show and dumping him to the floor.
EVERYTHING to do with Mr. Perfect.
Jericho's old-skool heel poses and tactics, and his win.
Edge slithering out of the Regal stretch. Wow.
Lita, Matt and Jeff stomping the HELL out of the Undertaker.

Uncool thing:
When the fans started jumping on Maven during the popcorn machine segment and throwing beer on him. Talk about class.

Surreal moment of the night:
McMahon, with his Attitude-era build and ring attire, wrestling Flair, with his 80s NWA look and tights. That was just...weird.

I seriously thought that security guard was either going to have to kill someone to get that crowd under control.

And one question I have from the opening tag match. Are Spike Dudley's only two moves the Dudley Dog, and getting dropped from very high heights?

Does HHH actually think that come Wrestlemania, he'll still be the number one face? No chance, but I'm guessing if The Rock and Austin are gonnna lose a few matches and HHH just keeps on winning clean then he might just be.

What the hell are they doing?

HHH vs Jericho? That's the number three and four guys (arguably, maybe Taker's more over than Jericho) in the main? Or will Rock vs Austin be the 'real' main in Sid vs Hogan style?

Sure I hate The Rock and love Jericho, but Jericho's the heel and the other three are faces, surely he's got to job clean at Wrestlemania to one of them.

We already know that Rock is going over no matter what, but against who? Surely not just beating Austin in a non title match?

Don't forget his little mini-spear, or as I like to call it, the Testicle Torpedo.

But other than that, the top-rope double stomp, and the kick n' punch... yup, pretty much nuthin'.

Hrm. Spike Dudley has a more limited moveset than Sid. Obviously, there's another factor to everyone's dislike of the guy. I blame his hair.

Or at least that's all the WWF lets him display. C'mon, you wouldn't ask WWF SUPERSTARS to sell for a 150-pound guy, would you?

Spike is perfectly capable of kicking out a reasonable indy-cruiserweight match. I've seen him (live) a few years ago, and he had a lot more in his arsenal then. Unfortunately, he went through a couple of years in ECW where he was booked to do little but plummet, bleed and get whacked by the contents of New Jack's trash can, with the Acid Drop and kick-to-the jimmy being his only two non-weapon moves.

In the WWF, he doesn't get abused by cheese graters (which is fine by me) but serves as little more than a bump machine, and as long as he's willing to take the abuse that's how he'll get on TV once in a while. With his size, about the only credible moves he could whip out in WWF terms would be technical-wizard stuff (leading to preposterous lucha submissions, p'raps), but we know how much Vince loves mat wrestling...

Well, yes, I've seen Spike do more that that myself. (Note to self, add flashing neon "SATIRE" to .sig...) But it's perception that makes the man in the wrestling biz, and all you ever see the guy do is fall down and pull off the occasional fluke move (the Torpedo, the Dawg, the occasional dropkick). Spike's character isn't offensively based. He's there to get his ass kicked until it's time for the hot tag/big comeback/act of god.

Personally, I'd like to see a little intelligence come into play with the small man/big man matches. There's nothing wrong with letting a Spike Dudley throw, say, a low dropkick or something like that. As it is, we're supposed to believe that Spike's opponents get so tired from throwing him around that they're easy prey to a headbutt to the nads/spinning Ace Crusher combo. Which, you know... gets a little hard to believe after the first eight thousand times.

Perhaps his injuries got the best of him. Getting thrown out of the ring every other day cannot be good for your body. Especially not when you are about the same size and weight as Max Mini's little baby sister. Heh..at least they haven't used him to crowdsurf yet..
