The NFL released the list of opponents for the upcoming 2002 season. (Click Here)
Now, you too can go "Damn, I sure am going to miss those two games against Arizona." or "Why do we have to go to St. Louis AGAIN?"

| #2 Posted on 9.1.02 0754.43 | That's pretty interesting...strength of schedule only determines two out of the 16 games now. (The Pack got the Redskins and the 49ers - I guess we could do worse ;-) - also, at least I can pretend I'm going to 3Com next year and then laze out at the last minute since it'll be on TV anyway)

The Giants two SOS games are against Minnesota and Atlanta which is slightly better than the Green Bay, New Orleans pairing they could have gotten if they had finished at .500
BTW - NFL.com has it broken down into a neat little table that makes things a little easier to figure out.

| #14 Posted on 15.1.02 0529.08 | Under this new crazy schedule, does that mean come playoff time they'll be four divison champs and two wild card teams, or are they adding more wild cards or what?
Just curious, I can't glean it from the article.
I love how they left all the important NFC East teams together and got rid of the shitty Cardinals...

| #15 Posted on 15.1.02 0700.59 | As of right now, that is exactly how they will do the playoffs. 4 division winners and 2 Wild Card Teams from each Conference.
There was talk of expanding the playoffs to add a wild card team to each conference but that kinda went nowhere. That doesn't mean the topic has been shelved, just not decided on yet.

I believe that is how they are going to do it this year. The entire division will have off the same week. And you won't have one team on a bye every week. They will only have 8 weeks of weeks.
At least that is the logical way to do it.
