His TNA work was way below average. He just couldn't bring the goods. Far from a 3.0.

And hey, Terri worked hard! What about when...uh...er...gimme a sec...oh! No...

Never mind.

I liked Sean in WCW, but mostly as a "he's got potential" type of guy. Unfortunately, four years later, it didn't look as if he progressed the slightest bit from those days. He continued to look like he'd get better with some more work, but how much more work could he have done? He just wasn't getting any better, so I guess they may as well have cut him. I was really pulling for him, though.

As for his mic skills....yeah, they were terrible in backstage skits in the back, but at least those did get better. Remember his promos in WCW? They were just plain atrocious!

Is it a safe bet that the next 'Tell All' wrestling smut book will have Terri's name on it? And, she'll be able to leach onto the added publicity of her ex-husband's sexual harrassment lawsuit.
As for O'Haire, do you think they regret having him go over Hogan, and then during his extended stay in Velocity go over everyone? I can understand them not backing him, but why wouldn't they have jobbed him out along the way?
With this deadweight dropped, is it safe to assume Jacqueline and Test probably are at the bottom of the food chain now?

Why is TVLand stealing my ideas from DEAN's Workrate Report's? They had to be stealing, as I thought I had the only demented mind that could put Bea Arthur and Abe Vigoda in a sex scene.

Really sad news. I remember Terri waving at me at a Toronto house show in 97. I suppose she wasn't doing that much lately, though, so you might as well cut the driftwood.

That's pretty dumb, even for this thread.

That was hardly a convincing O'Haire win. Hogan had him beat until Vince came out, distracted Hogan, and got him counted out.

He didn't have a whole lot of matches on Velocity. Probably less than 10. And I think he's been hurt, which is why he hasn't been on TV lately.

I liked O'Haire. Would've liked to see them try a Kanyon/O'Haire team, where Kanyon does the bulk of the work, and O'Haire brings the power.

I could see O'Haire show up in TNA, as he really hasn't been on TV enough to be "damaged goods".

If you ask me, and I'm sure you're not, O'Haire became a little to jacked-up. He really seemed to lose a lot of mobility and that is what kind of made him special in the first place.

That was Ross's idea...I remember reading that they thought Sean was a little lite and Ross wanted him "hossed up"

From OldFuzzyBastard's standings/statistics through November of last year (couldn't find the December thread), O'Haire was 17-1-1 (the draw/tie I believe was the aPa barroom brawl on a SD PPV) in televised matches. Post-Piper most, if not all, were on Velocity. So, while they weren't pushing O'Haire, they weren't jobbing him either, which is a weird occurrance. Actually, that could allow TNA to portray him as someone who was virtually unbeatable in his last WWF/E run.

I want you to know, I agree with everything I just said.

People like Jacqueline, Tommy Dreamer, Lance Storm, Ivory, Stevie Richards, Rosey, Val Venis and Shannon Moore must be looking over their shoulders.

Test, I would imagine, must be relatively safe due to the high profile of Stacey.

Personally I'm gutted about Sean O'Haire, ring-work aside (and, let's face it, there are plenty worse still on the roster) he had the look of a superstar. And those vignettes were cool before they turned him into Roddy's lackey.

O'Haire wasn't on WWE TV for a long time before his departure - I've got his last Velocity appearance (of 13) on 11/29/03. There was an injury somewhere in here, but I don't know if that was the whole absence. Terri's was off TV for the last few weeks, Kanyon was off TV for a long time before he was cut, and the Cat disappeared shortly after his re-debut, showed up for Rumble week, and was back off before he was fired.

So if you're going to make a possible "who's cut next list", and aren't trying for the "behavior incident firing" ones since they're harder to call, you'd choose the ones that they're not choosing to use. Lance, for instance, is safe this week since they bothered to use him. For as much as Shannon Moore loses, he makes one TV show or other almost every week.

But then any time you're being paid by someone to do something, and they're acting like they have no need for you to do it right now, you know it's not a good sign. Didn't need O'Haire and Terri to go to figure that out.

Edit: O'Haire was jakked in WCW too. I have no idea what you all are talking about if you're rembering a signficant difference.

Sorry to break off topic but since were talking about roster cuts...

From NWATNA.com's "Ask The Professor" - Mike Tenay:

FROM: NANO (NEW YORK)
Whatever happened to The Big Bossman?

ANSWER: My TNA broadcast colleague Scott Hudson told me recently that Ray Traylor was running for political office in the suburban Atlanta, Georgia area.

SO was Boss Man cut from WWE? Last I ever heard was he was still under WWE contract but he was training some OVW guys.

Actually he wrestled for IWA not too long ago. Since I haven't read anything about a release, I always assumed he was still under contract with WWE. Then again, I don't really go out of my way looking for news about the Big Bossman, so I could be wrong.

We used to see Boss Man outside the OVW offices while waiting in line at the OVW shows about a year ago, and he even was part of an televised storyline at one point back then, but I can't say I've seen him since then. He may have just been playing out the end of his WWE contract and then moved on to other things. All I know is that he wasn't doing much that the fans saw at the shows or on television for OVW.

Funny story - and off-topic - the fans are all standing in line outside a big show at the Davis Arena a year and a half ago. The show was so big that they had to get some of the newer guys out in the parking lot to direct traffic. Big Boss Man parks by the side of the building in a "no parking" zone and one of the wrestlers tells him to move his van. He meekly goes back and moves it to the far side of the building, far, far away.

Then Dean Malenko shows up and parks in the same exact spot Boss Man had. The same wrestler goes up to him and tells him to move his car. Malenko just looks him up and down and then walks into the building without a word. The wrestler stomped his foot a little, but at the end of the night Malenko's car was still there.

I think this was a bad choice in letting go of Sean he had what you need to make it in the WWE. He just need a lil time to get better in some areas. Very bad choice indeed.

O'Haire's release is disappointing somewhat... but it's not like WWE is releasing the next Steve Austin here. He had a pretty good look, but he hasn't really advanced that much in terms of his in-ring work since his initial WCW debut in 2000... there are a ton of young guys on the WWE roster right now: Cade, Jindrak, Dupree, Conway, etc. There just wasn't any room for him.

On a related note, wasn't he supposed to be one of the guys that Bischoff was going to push to the moon if he bought WCW back in 2001?

Say what now? When was this... I'm sure there are pics somewhere.

Having her get dropped so quickly after the lawsuit, it looks like they are getting the Runnels name away from the company.

Actually, I would keep her *IN* the company in case of a lawsuit as she could now go on saying Goldust misbehaved badly. If she were with WWE I am sure she would say 'he might have been slightly out of line' to protect the company she works for

I won't miss Terri, as she was hardly seen as of late but she had a nice long run with the company. The info we have doesn't say a lot btw. For all we know she asked for a release. She always struck me as a nice woman. The best to her.

O'haire *shrug* sure he had the look and all. But who knows what happened backstage. Maybe he was told to work on some aspects and he didn't. It's not like he will be really missed...
