Well, reading the article, it's not that big of deal. It's just one game, and she has coaching experience. Though I would tend to think one of the assistants could handle it just fine as well, so you would think this is also part publicity stunt.
I think the toughest part of being a female coach trying to coach guys would be the respect aspect. Could she gain the men's respect, or would they be automatically rejected?
Pat Summit is one of the few, if not only, women I believe could coach guys and get the job done. At least she gives looks to her girls that would scare the piss out of me anyway.
I was there in person (free tickets no less!!!) and felt the same way. I really didn't care who won as long as I got to see a good game. Not all that I hoped for, but still an enjoyable experience for my first live NCAA tourney game.
