Maybe next year the Yanks will actually have a winning record against Baltimore. Dare to dream...

The Yanks did beat the O's like a drum for the 10 years prior to last, so they probably will remember how to beat them. Bad day for whoever finishes 2nd in the AL Central and AL West, as the road to the Wild Card just become easier for the Red Sox, Yankees and Blue Jays with 18-19 games against an O's team that will really be putrid, especially if Bedard ends up getting dealt.
Forget that. This seems a lot like what was happening in the NHL leading up to its long work stoppage a couple years ago. Baseball's economics cannot really support contracts like this, only because mediocre players will be making more and more.
