Johnny Ace was a great wrestler?

Yeah, I was wondering that. He had some good matches in All Japan, but that was more the quality of his opponents than any particular skill he had.

I just don't see this working. I think Steamboat is too old-school for Vince, and he'll tire of having to work out 4 minute matches. I also don't see him being a yes-man for Vince.

I hate this rumor simply because I was loving the role he was playing in Ring of Honor, especially his interplay with Mick Foley lately. Hell, as lame as this year has been in wrestling I think him vs. CM Punk will get one of my votes in Feud of the Year voting for the RSPW awards. As a selfish fan, I'd love to see this be a rumor that blows over. Of course, the real fear for me is that between this and the rumors of Foley encouraging certain ROH guys to contact Vince (Joe and Punk come to mind) is the fear of Vince deciding to be petulant and pull some of the best ROH guys just because he's bored and wants to pull the wings from a fly.

With all due respect to Ring of Honor, I doubt the organization is even a blip on Vince's radar. I doubt he'd also, with business being what it is, sign a bunch of guys just to spite an indy fed he doesn't care about.

I still maintain that all of this speculation is moot, and the thought that Steamboat becoming a road agent will fix any of WWE's current problems is a little silly, because they go beyond the quality of matches (which actually hasn't been that bad). It'd be nice for Steamboat to be a road agent, and he could be as good as Patterson was in his prime...but the reason Hogan/Warrior gained interest was the build-up the WWF put behind it, not the fact that Patterson somehow managed to get the two to pull a decent match out of their asses.

In other words...BOOKING, BOOKING, BOOKING.

Okay, just on the thought of an actual Christian/Storm tag team actually having matches and winning.... well, I really dig Christian's enterance, so I think they should modify it to set those guys as a real tag team. My first idea?
