Team Angle totally rocked it on SD. Any Ohio Valley wieners know if these guys can talk?

| #3 Posted on 27.12.02 1602.56 | I guess that's why Heyman's around. Let him do the talking for Shelton and Haas and they should be just fine doing their talking in the ring. I'm personally hoping these two guys can shake up the tag division, but we seem to be running short on Smackdown babyface tag teams right about now.

| #4 Posted on 27.12.02 1611.32 | I was thinking the same thing re the lack of face tag teams on SD -- all they've got is Edge/Some Short Guy. Just hope they don't try to turn Too Cool v2.0 face by feuding them with Los Guerreros, though ... that would suck both in a general sense, a story sense, and a match-quality sense.
As for Team Angle, mic skills or not they looked very promising last night, and I'm looking forward to seeing 'em in the ring.

I'm pretty sure that's his finisher, cleverly called the "Haas of Pain". Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes i'm looking forward to a Benjamin/Brock showdown, as well as hopefully a Brock/Benoit team up, that would be one bad team.
But this brings up another question for me, right now it's 4 (Angle, Big Show, Benjamin, Haas) vs. 2 (Benoit and Lesnar), does anybody else help out Benoit and Lesnar to even the sides?

Nah, Team Taz was just a group of anonymous guys that Taz was training. They weren't known active wrestlers at the time (although Danny Doring and Roadkill were part of Team Taz while being trained) and they basically just surrounded Taz like a boxer's entourage. Taz was a bad ass that didn't need help during his "Path of Rage", or "One Man Crime Spree", when he was trying to get to Sabu.
Team Angle, with their singlets and talk of collegiate accomplishments, reminded me of the Varsity Club. Of course, the Varsity Club didn't have a leader anywhere near as good as Kurt Angle. | Simba

Maybe the other OVW guys that Ross mentioned this week. (Basham and Red Dog?) Just a guess at this point.

I saw Shelton Benjamin in a dark match in Oakland this summer. He left a good impression on me; he did a moonsault with a hell of a lot of air in it, as I recall, and he was a very quick and snappy mover. I'm looking forward to this too. ;-)

Even moreso than Angle's ring gear, those singlets just SCREAMED American Gladiators to me. Entirely too busy and too loud. I can live with a mild dose of that from Angle, but 2 more enormous doses from Haas and Benjamin are enough to make me flashback to my teens. Which is never welcome. | Spiraling_Shape

According to the OVW website, it's Damaja.

| #18 Posted on 28.12.02 1832.04 | I like the idea of 4 heels and only 2 faces. The heels can win whenever they want because they outnumber the faces, and when the faces do win, the fact that they "beat the odds" will make it mean more.
The WWE uses enough tired old storylines as crutches. I don't really need to see another "feuding stables" angle.

| #19 Posted on 29.12.02 1619.27 | I don't think it matters that it is 4-on-2 because it's Brock and Benoit. The main point of what they are trying to do with Brock is that it is not possible for just one person to defeat Brock, it takes someone else to help. Benoit is Benoit, that's all that needs to be said.
I love this angle so far because it brings in GOOD new talent and creates GOOD new matchups.
As far as Damaja goes, are they going to introduce him on Heat or Velocity, or is he just going to be sent out to die at the Rumble?

| #20 Posted on 29.12.02 1834.54 | I think it's great that the new talent is on smackdown, and I think they are thanking their lucky stars that they are put in an angle with Kurt and Paul. Done right, they could be stars within a year. But then again, this is WWE we are talking about.
