Last night at the Foo Fighters show at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, shortly after Taylor Hawkins launched into his drum solo, Dave Grohl came back out and said "I'd like to introduce you to two of my best friends...Geddy Lee and Alex fucking goddamn Lifeson!"
Hawkins, Lee and Lifeson proceeded to play YYZ in its entirety. Gotta give it to Hawkins...he's got some serious testicular fortitude to play drums with Rush in their hometown. Even more props for pulling it off.

The Foo Fighters are one of the best live bands I've ever seen.....Saturday made three times I've seen them, with the fourth coming up at the beginning of September when the headline the Toronto Virgin Festival with Oasis.
EDIT: Not sure if they're showing it on the youtube videos, but afterwards, Taylor thanked Neil Peart for "lending him his band".

It's usually this time of year when I write a concert review in the airport on the way to visit my grandparents. I like to start by talking about the wonders of technology and how, years ago, I could never have written a concert review in an airport.
