At this rate, is anybody gonna be left to play some football? I say that half in jest, of course, especially here where Tank actually served JAIL TIME. Still though, it's kinda weird to see the Commish coming down hard with so many long suspensions. Yes, pretty much everyone so far has deserved it. I think I'm too used to big time pro athletes getting a pass.

| #2 Posted on 4.6.07 1800.05 | Instant Rating: 5.99 | Seems fair to me, and even as a Bears fan, I would have felt anything less than 4 games was a bad precedent for the initiative. From all appearances, Tank's done everything right since the nightclub shooting incident, so giving him a chance to "earn back" a couple of game checks seems fair enough. It's in the league's interest to have problem players working to clean up their act - as much as you'd like to believe Goodell is trying to improve society, this is totally a P.R. issue for the NFL and their corporate partners. Fortunately, this one generally works in the fans' interests as well.
