Decent Superbowl this year I thought. The Raiders made a comeback in the the 4th, but it was too little too late.

So.. what will the Faider Nation whine about this year? Last year, the tuck rule, even though the fumble or lack thereof shouldn't have been an issue because Woodson gave Brady a helmet to helmet hit... what this year?

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage.

Seriously, they kicked the hell out of the Raiders. All this time I was waiting for Brad Johnson to remember who he was and begin to play accotrdingly. Who knew it would be Gannon remembering that he is Sean Salisbury's backup?

My guess would be the last 2pt conversion attempt. I'm not familiar with the rule at all but it seems weird that if the guy was going to come down with possession and the TB guy pushed him out, that'd be pass interference, but it didn't really matter at that point. Tampa Bay had outplayed the Raiders from their second series on. I had a very personal [nongambling] reason for wanting the Raiders to win, but it wasn't going to happen tonight.
Congrats BucsFan, SantaSangre, and all other Tampa Bay fans on here.

| #8 Posted on 26.1.03 2314.39 | I was loving every minute of this game. Even if they had made the 2-pt. conversion, it doesn't change the fact that Rich Gannon scored as many points for the Raiders as he did for the Bucs.
The Raiders really don't have anything to complain about as it relates to ...well, anything. They were outplayed, plain and simple. I mean, what else is there to say?
I didn't think I'd ever see this. Simply amazing. It's almost like a dream.

How about that the ball was biased toward the color red?
I can't say I feel bad for the Raider Fans. I've lost one now you know how it feels.
And what a great performance by Rich "Mr. MVP" Gannon, 2TD's 5 ints. The media has been giving this man a verbal BJ all years and in this biggest game in his life he chokes.
Much respect goes to Tampa Bay and their defense. But one thing, now Keyshawn and Sapp will never shut-up.
And LastCall,
Next year it will be a Blue Reign and we will be holding up the Lombardi Trophy in Houston.

| #11 Posted on 27.1.03 0209.47 | Instant Rating: 2.74 | I've lived here fo close to 30 years, and I have to say that here in Tampa, we all thought that the Bucs would NEVER much less BE IN the super bowl, much less WIN it so decidedly. While I have my own personal demons not allowing me to root for them, I am happy they won in my lifetime. This was 27 years in the making and they pulled it off quite nicely.
Being an old school type of guy though, I wish they'd been wearing the old orange and white though, that would be pretty cool if they came back from halftime wearing the old uniforms as a nod to John Mckay or something like that.
I bow to TheBucsFan's wisdom in his choice of name AND team.
And YES, next year, the Titans WILL be victorious, just wait and see...

That was an old fashioned ass whoopin'. The Bucs defense was all over the field. The Raiders offense looked completely lost until the 4th quarter. Damn, I wish I could fly across the country and be at Raymond James tonight!!!

Smart money would be on their second challenge that wasnt overturned for a TD. I'm glad to see them get beat but I and most of the people watching the game with me felt that the receiver would've come down in bounds if he hadnt been pushed.
On another note, I actually started to feel sorry for a Raider (Gannon) last night. I plan to attend therapy before this extends to empathising with the Giants and should be back with a healthy level of contempt for the start of next season.

Man this is so AWESOME!
This community is going crazy. After the game ended last night the streets of Tampa were stormed by fans...in a non violent way. The team comes back tonite and there are already many waiting at the stadium. Tommarow is the parade. It's a good time to be a Bucs fan.
