With a 7-2 home victory over the Minnesota Twins, the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays officially clinched
the first playoff berth in the 11-year history of the franchise.
Their next challenge, naturally, will be to try and stave off the Red Sox and win the division. We'll see how that goes.
The Rays became only the second AL team-- and 11th overall-- to go from last place to a playoff berth in successive years.

|Impressive season, no doubt, going from worst-to-first in the AL East of all divisions. Even more impressive when you consider losing Crawford and Longoria for extended periods of time. |

Replace "a week" with "three weeks" and "White Sox" with "Cubs". :-)

|I hope you guys aren't just saying that because you think your teams will roll over them?
Does your "WTF" mean you're mad that baseball teams make a lot of money? So much money that paying a pitcher $30m per year is but a drop in the bucket? I don't get what's "WTF" about this. - StingArmy
