Maybe."
So everybody who eats McDonald's deserves a painful death at the hands of heart disease? It's the same principle.

No but that is the risk you take if you eat at McD's. Just like if you drive in a car you take the risk of crashing into a tree. | Enojado Viento

| #23 Posted on 23.1.03 1816.05 | You know, whether you look at AIDS as a lifestyle risk, just punishment for being gay or what, you have to admit, you could not have asked for a better disease.
That is, if you're a stockholder in a pharmecutical firm.
Let's see. . .almost 25 years of study, billions of dollars pumped into it and all we've got for it is a drug that alleviates some of the symptoms, cost a ridiculous amount of money, and cleverly treats the symptoms without actually curing anyone.
And it made Magic Johnson think he could host a talk show. Clearly, a drug with some dangerous side effects.
So beleive me--even if the government's full of virulent homophobes there ain't no way AIDS funding will ever cease so long as Kaiser and co. need a bailout. They could be sitting on the cure now for all we know. But as long as all the money's in the comeback, I wouldn't hold my breath.

"Present day writers, especially of the Socilaist school of thought- base their various theories upon one common hypothesis: They divide mankind into two parts. People in general- with the exception of the writer himself- from the first group. The writer, all alone, forms the second and most impportant group. Surely ths is the weirderst and most conceited notion that ever entered a human brain!" - Frederic Bastiat, The Law, 1850 | calvinh0560
