Dexley's Midnight Jogger, 3 time Randomly Selected Wiener-of-the-Day, in a 6 week period? Conspiracy? Dumb luck? Well placed bribe? What do you think?
(Thread intended in the best of humor, please, take no offense!! :))

The problem with randomness is that the closer you get to truly random output the more convinced people become that it's anything but random.

If you truly believe that the distribution of the Wiener-of-the-Day selection is something other than random, please feel free to show some kind of statistical analysis that agrees with your hypothesis.

I must say, I'm not offended; but do I feel compelled to ask the question, ``Why do you care, anyway?''

how come you're so afraid of things that dont make any sense to you? do you water your raisins daily? do you have any raisins? is there anything that does make sense to you? are you afraid of twelve button suits? how come you're so afraid to stop talking?

For no other reason than it is an interesting quirk, my friend. I don't claim that there is anything other than sheer randomness going on, I just found it to be interesting, and I pointed it out in jest.
I THOUGHT that was what "Thread intended in the best of humor" would convey... apparently I miscalculated...

I care for one reason, it helps me get out of bed in the morning. Just having the dream that, I, could be....THE WIENER OF THE DAY.

Oh...and....relax, it's just the internet.

Well then, in the best of humor, take your pick:

1. the random number generator had to be rebooted.
2. the random number gnome took a hit to the head and has a concussion.
3. recent sunspot activity has blocked the random rays that fuel the random number provider in Guru's backyard...

DDP: Well, there's this little passage I got memorized, Diamond Dallas 25:17. Sort of fits this occasion:

"The path of the bookerman is beset on all sides by the inequities of the talented, and the tyranny of workrate freaks. Blessed is he, who in the name of tradition and sports entertainment carries the stiffs through the matches of Nitro, for he is truly the workrate's keeper, and the finder of lost quality. And I will lay the smack down upon thee with great vengeance and furious roid rage those who attempt to outwrestle and expose my brothers. And you will know my name as the Bookerman, when I lay my catchphrase upon thee!"

You run the risk of the wrath of Adam for suggesting that ANYTHING regarding this box was rebooted.

Your analogy is similar to:

"They already have cars that you can drive, why not blenders?"
"I can already write with my hands, why not my pancreas?"
"They already have beef that I can eat, why not granite?"

-- my new favorite quote from Slashdot comments.

It's like the random tag generator. You never know who you're going to get, and sometimes, the teams repeated themselves. Why? We'll never know...

Oh, someone has to say this.

Dexley's Midnight Jogger is holding down the rest of us, who can't seem to break the Wiener-of-the-day glass ceiling. When is Vince going to recognize that the fans don't want to see the same Wiener-of-the-day all the time?

Is that like Fred Lynn and Ichiro winning the MVP and ROY the same year...

Just discovered through the wonder of the WOTD list that I was in fact a Wiener of the day one time way back in early November. I hereby retract all suggestions I may have earlier made regarding possible rigging and bias in what I am sure is an utterly random selection process, filled with integrity.

If you will excuse me I am now off to perform a Spinaroonie in retrospective celebration of this glorious honour bestowed upon me. Ahthankyou

Damn that Dexley's Midnight Jogger for holding me down...
But just out of curiosity, since Weinerville has no "Stephanie"... who do you have to sleep with to cement your place at the top of the WOTD ladder?

You mean not only does Dexley get to be multiple WOTD but he also gets to sleep with, like, a proper person? Man this is so unfair, I'm all jealous again now. And I was feeling so good about myself there for a while.

I doubt she'd let any of us unwashed pigs touch her though.
