I really don't like Kane in big man tag teams. He is best in singles compition.

I think his feud with X-Pac was his best. He got screwed at every turn, lost his only love so he was fighting for something. It was really the only time we saw a personal side to Kane.

Kane's best line ever was when Kurt Angle riled him up about his brother the Undertaker. Later Taker was kneeling fixing his bike when we here a muffled voice yell out, "HEY BIG BROTHER!" Then a big red streak flashes on our screen andhe spears Taker into the door. Kane getting *robbed* by the stuffed animal game at WWF NY was damn good too.

"As a matter fact, Vince did sort of manage Kane when he won his first title didn't he? I think i remember Vince sort of leading Undertaker and Kane vs. Stone Cold. Which is when the infamous clothesline off the zambonie came from."

Kane won the belt in a First Blood match against Austin after an "inadvertent" chairshot by Taker bloodied Austin. Taker and Kane weren't revealed to be in league until later, and the Kane/Taker vs Austin match didn't happen until three months later. Vince just wanted someone, anyone to get the belt off Austin.

I'll think of something witty later, I promise.

I love the idea of pairing Raven with Kane. Give Raven his Stevie Richards, Saturn and someone with no direction like the returning Val Venis and that is a kick ass Flock. Plus this gives the world a chance at seeing Raven circa 1996 come out and play.

Now that I think about it, a bunch of months ago I wrote a column about Kane.

Took me a moment to remember what it was all about, but I looked it up and here's what I found.

It's just one of a ton of ideas for Kane I'm sure. I guess at the time I must have had an idea go off in my head that I had to write about. I don't do a whole lot of booking characters.

It also doesn't involve him losing his mask. Again, losing his mask would be his death knell if fans don't care. And there's a good chance they won't care for very long. Short attention spans...

Kane has always been great for comedy.

* His headshake of disgust at the Honky Tonk Man in the 2001 Rumble
* His interaction with Drew Carey in the same Rumble
* The aforementioned bit about the stuffed animal machine at WWF New York
* His advice to Booker T in his first blood match against Stone Cold: "Don't bleed."

I was born in a manger, like that other guy. You know, he wore a hat?

I did think of an idea for Kane losing mask, but it would involve the Undertaker retiring. The Undertaker would need Kane's help in a match on RAW, and Kane clobbers him. On Smackdown, Kane would come out and remove the mask. He would reveal that he is not the Undertaker's brother. That Undertaker saw that Kane was bigger, stronger, etc., than he was, so he used his backstage pull with Vince to try and destroy Kane's career. First, they made Kane be the evil dentist, then the fake disel, and when Undertaker realized that he couldn't get rid of Kane, he came up with the "Kane is my long lost brother" idea to control him. The Undertaker would team with Kane only when it was to his benifit, not Kane's and by forcing Kane to wear a mask he limited Kane's ability to climb the ladder in the WWF. After that, Kane would say that he put up with all of that because of his contract with Vince, which expired the day before RAW. He would then reveal that he signed a new contract with Flair, leading to a final confrontation with the Undertaker at WM, to pass the torch. Not perfect, but with professional writers to flesh it out, it might work.

Breaking kayfabe too many times for it to be a useful storyline. I mean that just wouldn't work without completely exposing the business and how it works to all fans, regardless of what the truth is... and that wouldn't be fun either, because some of the fun in wrestling is not knowing or conviently forgetting that there are people backstage organizing the entire event.

Wow, that belt looks like crap... I'll take it and carry it around for years and see if people can take it away from me... What? What was that? You mean even THIS belt doesn't matter! What? I'm insulted! Get away from me you... you... defiler!

You're forgetting the best -- and most famous -- bit of Kane-related humor: Pete Rose.

Especially when the Chicken jumped in the ring at WM2000 and Kane refused to take his eyes off him.

I agree that it is too 'shootish' to work for the average fan. They would shrug and just yell 'what?' or whatever catchphrase is hot then..
More importantly...you but you mention professional writers to flesh it out.
Think about it...Do I need to go on here? No? Thought so...

Have you ever noticed that four-out-of-five mystery opponents are Kane?

(Okay I didn't do the math, but doesn't it SEEM that way?)

My favorite Kane comedy moments were when he called Tajiri a freak, and when Hurricane called him "Citizen Kane". We were in the arena (Moline, IL) and NOBODY GOT THAT REFERENCE except us. Hurricane says the line then suddenly turns to the crowd expecting laughter...and NOTHING!

Am I the only one who liked the Kane-Ivory match-up? But I guess once you leave the "destroying people for your girlfriend cause you're p-whipped" angle, you can't really go back. How about at least making Trish his manager though?

I think Trish is doing quite well as a wrestler now..No need for her to manage people again.
HOwever, I *SO* don't recall Kane and Ivory? Did I miss something or do you mean The Green Goddess Tori?

Yes..must be because he always gets the 'oh shit..the big red machine! NOW he is in trouble!'
He is awesome for that, because he still is over as the big bad guy who destroys people left and right.

And yes, I did laugh with the Citizen Kane line. In fact, I was using that one hte moment Hurricane started saying the Citizen line..Was only a matter of time before they would use it.
And yeah, the crowd was dead. Not sure though if Hurricane expected laughter. He looked more like 'heh..where have i heard that one before?'

I don't see how they look anything alike. Tori is taller than Ivory, much more muscular, and looks like she got smacked in the mouth with the ugly club.

Ivory is smaller, a brunette instead of a blonde, and much prettier IMO, despite damn near being old enough to be my mother.

Which one of those three points are you saying is untrue? Yeah, it sucks the guy is in a wheelchair, but that doesn't instantly make all of his previous work pure gold.
