He doesn't shoot at people in groups or crowds. Almost all the targets have been isolated. You're safest in crowds, it seems.
I live two minutes from a gas station, two minutes from 95. And I'm not frightened at all. Statistically, I won't get hit, so no use worrying about it or changing my lifestyle over it. Panicking only makes things worse.
One of my friends pointed out how, if someone sees this guy, there may very well be a lynch mob.

| #22 Posted on 14.10.02 2257.57 | Add one more to the tally, though it isn't confirmed it's the sniper yet. However, if this was done by him, it was on a Monday night, right all the news channels were saying that he doesn't work at the beginning of the week. Is there any doubt that this guy's watching the news? I hope the search net catches him but I doubt it. Hell, now that all the cops are looking for this White AstroVan, it occurs to me, "Why doesn't he just set up and wait to kill someone when their is a white van-like vehicle somewhere in the area?" Or maybe that's too many steps ahead.

The good news is that if he tries to duck the search nets and head for another state, he may get caught more quickly. Searching for an out-of-place vehicle with Virgina/MD tags helps narrow the field.
Edit: Just wanted to add that if the person in the AstroVan isn't the sniper, then they would probably call the cops, and report that they were at the home depot....

I heard on my local news today that these attacks are stepping up in risk and witnesses.
Combine that with the geography -- he could be practicing for a shot at the president. I figure he's working on his one shot kills because he knows he'll only get one shot. Very creepy.
I mean, for me, I hate Dubya and I think he's a crap president, but I don't want him dead... you know, usually.
Seriously though. Pretty spooky stuff.

And I am *so* not going to let this guy with a gun change how I live my life. And I live 5 minutes off 95. Statistically, you have a better chance of being hit by lightning than being killed by a serial killer. Don't let the news panic get to you.

So now the police have nothing. Great.

| #30 Posted on 18.10.02 1646.46 | Well, they have some details, and a MO is slowly emerging. But yeah, they just need to get lucky with a (credible) witness.
