The ol' fast forward button on the DVR will be getting a workout that night.

I doubt he'll agree to show up. This is a obvious sign that they won't be pulling the plug on the Swagger and Zeb angle.

Wow, if that article breaks kayfabe, that video smashes it to smithereens.

The thing is, isn't it pretty much known that "Glenn Beck" is more or less a "character" too? One that people take seriously (or used to), much like Beck is doing here?

We're through the looking glass, people.

I also agree this means they aren't slowing down the Swagger title hunt immediately...

I'm not seeing any kayfabe smashing in either. Am I too close to see it, or are you reading in some inferences that don't necessarily exist?

Really? They're going with Glenn Beck as their politically volatile figure? Glenn Beck who's been out of the public spotlight for several years?

Hello! Donald Trump is RIGHT THERE! For the love of God, he's BEEN ON YOUR SHOW BEFORE!!!

I think this is the one he was talking about. It's twice as long and has ... well I don't want to spoil the twist because I was like what!!!!!!!!! But red+white+blue=green.

Trump is, for reals, too busy negotiating to go into the HOF. At this, the height of his nationwide appeal.

They seem to be looking for anybody they can get to show up. They even made an offer to Alex Jones.

Personally I'd have gone with Donald Trump showing ass. "It's a travesty that Obama won the election without winning the popular vote!" (Said when California was called, because that's an obvious blue state, but before the votes started to be counted. Later retracted. Also ironic given that Dubya did win the election while losing the popular vote in 2000).

Of course Donald Trump isn't in on the joke; he doesn't actually realize he's a blowhard.

OK... THAT one does make it obvious. (Also, seems to confirm Dutch is delivering off a teleprompter - which...well, you'd think he wouldn't need one, but he's probably happy to deposit the cheques.)

I feel like if WWE is going to defend the gimmick by going after its detractors, it's going to take some of the heat away from Swagger and Colter. I don't know, maybe there's a way they can go after the Alex Jones's and Glenn Beck's without mentioning specifically the gimmick they were attacking?

Seems like an attempt to at least deflect some of the attention away from Swagger's DUI arrest and back onto the angle.

Oops, sorry, I watched that 2nd, longer video embedded elsewhere and figured there was only one video in question, in relation to all this Beck stuff.

Also, is Punk taking a shot at the existence of this video here?

The WWE is slightly in over their head. They are getting attention, but maybe not the kind that they want. I can also see a lot of people really getting behind Swagger and a lot of people being really opposed possibly leading to problems in the crowd. I would like to think people are smarter than that, but not all of them are. This might be a way to stop some of that. This is a lot different than having the Iron Sheik wave an Iranian flag.

Mostly I think the WWE did a really poor job of introducing the angle. Swagger should have been bumped from cards because of Sin Cara and Rey. Instead he went from capable wrestler to bumbling jobber to angry Tea Party guy.

Holy kayfabe breaking! (re: longer video)

The thing is, when I look around the audience at WWE live shows I think these characters would be cheered as faces.

Making the evil foreigner (Del Rio) into the face may be too much of a shift, even for 2013. Wasn't Del Rio just asking fans to see their papers just a few months ago?

Beck said no. So, now the WWE has to do something else to keep the push of a DUI suspect who had drugs in his possession.

WWE-wise, the WM main event comes at #2 for me, following Eddy-v-Brock. That's the match currently tying with Samoa Joe -v- American Dragon as MOTY for me, but I haven't watched Akiyama -v- Kobashi yet.
