I'm kinda surprised a Raw thread isn't up yet. Given the state of the company...

I didn't stick around for hour three. A big John Cena main event interview just wasn't doing it for me.

There were some fairly good 10 minute matches. I am not a huge fan of Beat the Clock challenges, but at least they started at eleven minutes and not five.

A lot of Punk plus a Rock beatdown. I have a bad feeling about this.

My takeaway from the show was that the sign-making fans in the crowd have no idea who or what Cookie Puss is, considering there were at least two featuring Cookie Monster and one with "a cookie" + "a cat" = CM Punk. They think it was just two random words Rocky strung together, since most of his promos are practically Mad Libs lately anyway.

The Shield beatdown should have ended the show. As much as people get on Rock for his promos, I am getting bored with Punk's number count of how many days he has had it. Its a shame Cena winning the Rumble is all, but certain.

Honest Arrogance is the new Ruthless Aggression.

Rock and Vickie work great together, but I don't like "beeyatch." He can do better than that. Then again, maybe not, considering how forced that Te'o joke was.

Ziggler getting an early number could set the stage for a valiant Rumble effort to get him over even more. He made Miz look like a million dollars out there despite a botched Figure Four. That chop block scared the crap out of me.

Except for how boring much of the show was, I can't complain about two Paul Heyman promos, one arm in arm with Vickie, and his reaction when running into Vince backstage: "Oh God!" (covers eyes with hand)

Well, they WERE in San Jose. I think Cookie Puss is more of an east coast thing.

By the way, did you know San Jose is a Latino hotbed? They already know how to count to ten in Spanish and everything!

Shows where kids can learn to count to ten in Spanish: Sesame Street, Villa Allegre, RAW

It was good of Punk and Heyman to keep rolling after Vince promised that bad things would happen should Punk interfere in Punk's match.

With Twitter down most of the show, I'm surprised the commentary team was able to even string together two sentences. They still showed some trending topics, which I was immediately suspicious of...but maybe they have a magic client that can access Twitter when it's not working.

One tweet I DID manage to get out last night was the observation that Cena's words to the WWE Universe was a lot like listening to "Having Fun with Elvis on Stage" where you get the sense that they are attempting to present comedy...only you're wondering when things are going to get funny. (Audible commentator snickering, by the way, remains an ineffective marker of where the comedy is. I know I'm preaching to the choir on that one but it always bears repeating.)

Do they have a paint roller with (No Longer Lord) Tenzai's tattos on it that they can use every week? I want one.

proprs to the kid bumpin' and grindin' during Punk's promo. It looked like he was humping the title belt.

Punk and Heyman were fantastic with VKM.

They should have everyone everywhere hug every week.

That kid's handlebar mustache made Barret jealous.

The little gamer kid jumping right into Cena's promo was great. Sign him now! HE'S A NATURAL! (WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

People Wooo-ing Miz is not awesome.

Albreto actually is over as a face. What was Ricardo carrying out in those gift bags? I don't remember them showing anything.

Speaking of Ricardo, when the crowd was "SI!"-ing him last night, it made me wonder when was the last time someone else's catchprhase caught on with another wrestler? Granted, this is such a natural fit........

DB should come out every week with slicked down hair.

Big Show sold that so well I thought/think he really bailed on the ten-count out of anger. Also, Zack Ryder everyone! Forty-second paycheck!

I thought maybe they planned to bail on the ten count in advance in case a What Chant broke out.

Do people's promos and interactions on Raw seem less scripted word-for-word lately than before to anyone else or is it just me?

I was just wondering last week about how I don't think I've ever seen Zack Ryder's Internet Championship Belt on TV before (YouTube doesnt count), then he comes out this week with the belt as part of the design on his trunks. Neat idea.

So if the Shield can't interfere on Sunday....does that mean we get Lesnar out to help Punk retain the title?

I feel like in 2013 - by which I mean "two thousand thirteen," by God, and NEVER "twenty thirteen" - it's as scripted as ever, right down to how you pronounce certain numbers (in case I was overly obscuring my point).

EDIT: Now let me weasel out of that absolute by adding: But I will offer that Rock seems allowed to ad-lib here'n'there - but all the "point to someone in the crowd" stuff is an attempt to make it FEEL less scripted while still keeping it very, almost overly tightly scripted

First of all, Cena's sociology promo was one of his cringiest ever. That said,

I kind of wish it was certain. Rock should win, Cena should win, lock it all in place in the biggest possible way, no shenanigans to try to keep things interesting for the February PPV and a Rumble winner challenging for the A-title for the first time in a while.

I also think Cena should win if only because if Smackdown title guy (Sheamus/Orton/Ryback/etc) won the Rumble and then didn't challenge the Rock or a 400-day champion, they'd look like a chump.

Or may I suggest option C, "The Edge": Rock wins the title, Punk is petulant, Punk comes into the Rumble at #30, wins the Rumble through underhanded tactics, gets his heat back, uses the verbiage that the Rumble winner gets to be in "the main event of Wrestlemania" to challenge the Undertaker and do something even bigger and more heinous to the fans than be champion for 400 days. Then he's coming off a huge win instead of a huge loss and has a bit more steam than a regular "A WWE Main Eventer Wants To End The Streak" build.

Probably not. It would lead to Rock/Lesnar which would outshine anything else on the Mania card. They need at least one full timer in the main event slot. I am thinking Rock wins and Cena wins thus we get the rematch no one wanted followed by the rematch no one really wanted in HHH/Lesnar.

I had no idea Cookie Puss was an actual thing. I thought it was some random words on the level of "Kung Pao Bitch".

As far as I know, Rhyno and the WWE are still planning on his being there, even after the nastiness of his release. Also planning on attending at this point: Nunzio, all three Dudleyz, some kind of FBI combination (featuring Nunzio)
