Not that I'm planning on starting an epic miniseries dissecting everything that CM Punk has said in his rants two out of the last three weeks, but when he mentioned changing the look of the WWE Title (because "that thing has been far too ugly for far too long"), he got a sizable pop from the Boston audience (Cena's hometown, no less), and God... I can't blame them.

With the exception of the Rated-R Spinner Belt and The Miz's upside-down M, this design of WWE Championship belt has been the mainstay since Cena introduced it shortly after winning it for the first time at WrestleMania 21 in 2005 (though it no longer spins). They didn't even change it during the ten months it got moved to SmackDown and it was traded back and forth between Triple H, Edge and Jeff Hardy while Cena won a couple World Heavyweight Championships on RAW. (In fact, Cena's third and fourth WWE Title reigns were about two years apart).

I didn't much care for the too-understated look of the Undisputed Title belt, but the WWF "Attitude"-era style belt was good, as was the iconic Golden Eagle. If it's true that "everything old is new again", I'd love to see a retro-style WWE Championship belt brought in to replace the current one. What do y'all think?

Absolutely... I Think they have too many titles as it is... Growing up you had the Heavyweight title, the IC title and tag titles... it almost seems like everyone can have a belt.. and with all the wrestlers showing up on Raw and Smackdown is it somewhat safe to say the brand split really doesnt matter anymore?... i say unify the HW belts, and unify the IC and US title

I think the midcard titles are the healthiest they've been in quite a while, actually. But yeah, I'd welcome a new WWE title design.

If Punk takes the belt with him, Vince can decommission it and introduce a new belt. I'd prefer that to Punk customizing his belt like Austin or Hardy.

Nah, I don't mean something dumb like put a Straight-Edge logo on it or something. Just... giving it a new design, something that can be retro while at the same time a little 21st-century, too.

I would love to see a thorwback to the Golden Eagle belt of 80s and 90s. I actually prefer the current IC belt (which hasn't changed since the attitude era) to the 80s/90s IC design, maybe just the fact that it's been around longer I've gotten used to it.

But I'm definitely in support of a title redesign. (Hey maybe that's part of the reason for this angle?)

I disagree. We need the titles because there are more superstars and more shows than way back when.

When I was a kid, we only had one or two shows a week, one hour per, and they were jobber matches. There were four PPVs, and whatever. Now, we need the extra titles because there are so many people, so many shows...you get the deal.

What I want are brand specific PPVs back.

What Worked TKG: Montserrat? God you got to love Mexico. I don’t care what she looks like, a stripper named Montserrat so trumps a hundred strippers named Crystal. PAS: Where the fuck did Lizmark come from? I thought he retired like four years ago.
