TONIGHT: WWE.com had a picture of the wheel of options earlier in the day for Raw Roulette. I won’t list them all here, but am rooting for “Tornado” (which I assume is Tornado Tag) and “Blast from the Past,” a possibility as Diamond Dallas Page is backstage at the show.

- WWE Open.

- RAW Open.

- After a quick video of Las Vegas with Michael Cole voicing-over Raw Roulette plugs, they went backstage to the Roulette wheel and Booker T, the host of the evening. He just spun the wheel a couple times then they went to the ring.

- Shawn Michaels came out. He did lots of posing and whatnot. He said that, from the bottom of his heart, he tried to stay away, but couldn’t do it. He asked how he could leave “all this.” Michaels said it was difficult to stop “cold turkey” after doing something for 20 years. “Is he going to come back?” asked Jerry Lawler quietly. HBK said it was the fans that made him the headliner, the showstopper, the main event, Mr. Wrestlemania. Michaels said he didn’t want to imply he’s a Raw guest host, because they’re always out to plug something. He cleverly plugged his new show on the Outdoor Channel. He also plugged his Twitter account, but before he could get any further, CM Punk came out, along with the tag team champions David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty. Cole said Mason Ryan suffered an injury over the weekend and is not in the building.

Punk pretended to shoot a cross-bow at Michaels while posing on the top turnbuckle as his music played. He talked about Shawn’s personality being so addictive that he couldn’t stay out of the spotlight. He said July 17th is his last day, and Michaels said it’s a win-win because the people will never have to hear from him or see him again. Speaking of “win,” Punk said Michales didn’t win when he left WWE. He said Shawn went out a loser, unlike what he’ll go out as. Michaels said Cena will likely have a problem with that, but Punk reminded him he beat Cena on Raw two weeks ago. Punk said the fans are another reason he’s leaving. He said the fans will get on their feet and cheer someone from the past, but they won’t get on their hands and knees to beg the future to stay. Shawn said the reason they cheer him is the fans know he’s better than Punk. “One more match” chant by some in the crowd. Punk said Shawn WAS better than him, and there’s nobody backstage who can hold a candle to him. Punk asked if Shawn was challenging him. He said they were a lot alike. Michaels said they may be alike in that they don’t drink, smoke or do drugs – and Punk chimed in “anymore”; “fair enough,” said Shawn. But Michaels said they had different styles, then he superkicked Otunga. Punk told Michaels he made a huge mistake, and the GM chimed in for some words of his own.

The GM said that Punk leaving WWE is Punk’s decision. But because he has only three Raw’s left, they’re going to make them count. Punk is in the ring, so he’ll have the first match on Raw Roulette. He requested the wheel be spun. On the Titan-Tron, Booker introduced himself and discussed some of the options on the wheel. Then he spun, and it landed on a question mark. Booker said it means Punk has a mystery opponent. And it’s Kane. As Punk and McGillicutty stared at the Tron, Michaels superkicked McGillicutty. He wished Punk luck as Kane came to the ring. Match is next.

[Commercial Break]

(1) CM Punk vs. Kane
The bell sounded upon return from break. Kane punched Punk and therw him through the ropes and to ringside. Punk went throat-first over the barricade, and Kane continued to work him over. The guys in the crowd chanted for Punk. Couple splashes in the corner by Kane, then a sidewalk slam for two. Kane tried to chokeslam Punk, but Punk kicked Kane in the head. Punk kicked at Kane in the corner as Lawler asked why Punk would want to leave at the apex of his career. Big boot by Kane to turn the tide at about 3:00. Kane climbed to the top, but Punk stopped him. Cole said Punk has accomplished just about everything in “World Wrestling Entertainment.” Did he not get the memo about the name change? Kane set up for the clothesline off the top but Punk walked out. Cole said he didn’t blame Punk, as he wants to be fresh for his title match.

Winner: Kane, via count-out, at 4:19. Total first-gear match, but it works for Punk’s character right now to not turn it up a notch.

- Tonight, a Raw Roulette Match with Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio.

- Also, John Cena will battle R-Truth in a Roulette Match.

[Commercial Break]

- Cole plugged WWEPoker.com.

(2) Sin Cara vs. Evan Bourne – No Count-Out Match
Justin Roberts said this was a Raw Roulette Match, but no stipulations were in play. The men circled each other as the ref called for the bell, then the ref broke things up before they got going and sent it to Booker on the TitanTron. Eve was with him, and he let her spin the wheel. Ugh, I was hoping this would be immune to the stipulations. It’s a no count-out match. OK, well that’s pretty innocent. The bell rang again to start the match officially.

Mat wrestling to start as the men traded arm-drags. Bourne landed on his feet during a snap-mare attempt, and he worked Cara’s arm. A second snap-mare took Bourne down. Lots of flips and Cara took down Bourne with a wrist-lock. Both men stared at each other when they were on the outside, doing a stalemate. They both went back in and Cara kicked away at Bourne. “Power Ranger” chant by some fans at Cara. Double-stomp by Bourne for two at 1:46. Lots of “ooh!’s” from the fans. Cara dove through the ropes and onto Bourne on the outside, and he got good distance on it too. In the aisle, Bourne countered and took Cara down with a headscissors. Bourne avoided a dropkick and rolled Cara up for two. La Magistra cradle by Cara for two. Jumping knee to the face caught Cara out of nowhere for two. Springboard twisting back splash on Bourne, and it only got two. Standing moonsault by Bourne for two. He set Cara up for the Shooting Star Press, but Cara moved and Bourne landed on his feet. Cara hit his finisher for the win.

Winner: Cara, at 4:52. Damn. Impressive match, as one would expect. They packed as much into five minutes as they could. It goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway)…I’d kill to see these guys get 10+ minutes.

- After a replay of some of the big moves of the match, they went backstage with Booker and Kofi Kingston. Kofi was there to spin the wheel to see what kind of match he’d have with (say it with me) Dolph Ziggler next. Vickie Guerrero walked in and spun the wheel herself. It landed on Player’s Choice, which means Kofi got the choice of match. He said he’s going to pick the match he personally voted for last week: Kofi vs. Dolph with Vickie banned from ringside. Looks like WWE trying to make good on another error last week. Vickie protested, to no avail.

[Commercial Break]

- An exterior shot of Las Veags was shown.

- The announcers discussed the Money in the Bank PPV. I think they played Donald Trump’s theme during this. The field is set for the RAW MITB match: Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne, Alex Riley, The Miz, R-Truth, Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio.

(3) Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler – Player’s Choice Match/Vickie Guerrero Banned From Ringside
Vickie tried to introduce Ziggler, but refs came out to usher her backstage. During his entrance, Ziggler seemed distracted by what happened to Vickie. Ziggler went to ringside as soon as the bell rang. He looked to be pulling a CM Punk, but Kingston attacked him from behind. Back in the ring, Kingston landed a forearm to Ziggler, knocking him out of the ring. Kofi then bodyslammed Dolph on the ringside mats, then rammed him head-first into the ring post. Kofi sold it well. They went to break with Kofi trying to get his bearings at 1:24 of the match.

[Commercial Break]

Ziggler was in control with a rest-hold out of break. Kofi punched out of it, but missed a charge in the corner. Fameasser by Ziggler for two at 5:29. Neckbreaker in the middle of the ring for two at 6:26. This is the 19th TV singles match between these two since late 2010, according to this week’s Observer. Small package by Kofi for two. A particularly excited woman in the crowd shrieked when Dolph kicked out. Kofi blocked himself from being thrown out of the ring, so he caught Ziggler by surprise when he connected on the Trouble in Paradise for the win.

Winner: Kingston, at 7:37. They kinda gave this one away when they announced Kofi, and not Dolph, would be in the MITB match. Wouldn’t make sense to put Ziggler over in that circumstance.

- John Cena and R-Truth battle in a Raw Roulette Match later tonight.

- At the Roulette wheel, Booker recapped what has happened thus far, to Maryse. Alberto Del Rio finally interrupted and asked why he has to face Big Show again. Maryse agreed with him. Booker said he didn’t make the matches, he just made the spins. Booker was about to spin the wheel, but Del Rio asked Maryse to do so, charming her all the way. Maryse flirted with him and Del Rio liked it until he saw the result of the spin…steel cage match. “Tell me she didn’t just spin that!” Booker exclaimed. He laughed as Del Rio stormed off. Match is next.

[Commercial Break]

(4) Alberto Del Rio vs. The Big Show – Steel Cage Match

Del Rio tried to escape as soon as the bell rang, but Show slapped Del Rio hard in the back. Headbutt put him on the mat, then a chop to the chest. He ran Del Rio head-first into the cage. Show missed a charge and Del Rio kicked at Show’s knee. Del Rio then dropped Show with two boots to the face. He stayed aggressive with Show, staying right on him. At 1:41 of the match, with Del Rio working the knee, Mark Henry walked to ringside. He traded barbs with fans at ringside as Show made his comeback. Short DDT by Del Rio for a two-count. Del Rio began to climb again, but Show stopped him. The two men perched themselves on the top rope, and Show suplexed Del Rio off. Henry climbed the stairs and pulled the door of its hinges. He brought the door into the ring and attacked Show. Del Rio crawled toward the door and out.

Winner: Del Rio, at 5:18. I don’t know that I’ve ever been more interested in Mark Henry. Maybe when he was with Tony Atlas?

In the ring, Henry took the door, charged at Big Show, and rammed him with it. The side of the cage wobbled, then fell as Show rolled down it and to the floor. I guess it was half of a side of the cage. Referees and medics (and Johnny Ace) tended to Show as Henry did more trash talking.

[Commercial Break]

- They showed Show being helped up during the break after the attack by Mark Henry. The announcers discussed what has been happening to Show lately thanks to Mark Henry and ADR.

(5) Kelly Kelly vs. Nikki Bella -
Brie gets her re-match at Money in the Bank. Booker was disappointed, as it landed on a Submission Match. Don’t tell me WWE is going to come out tomorrow and say the results of this one were wrong. Nikki went after the left arm of Kelly. Lots of screaming by Nikki. Justin Roberts mistakenly called this a title match, but the announcers did a nice job explaining it was actually non-title. Kelly locked in a Boston Crab, and Nikki submitted.

Winner: Kelly, via submission, at 1:14. Probably good to keep it short.

Brie attacked after the match with her belt, so Eve Torres ran out to even the odds. She helped clear the ring of the Bellas.

- Tonight, Cena vs. Truth in a Roulette Match.

[Commercial Break]

- More exterior shots of Vegas, then they replayed Andy Leavine winning Tough Enough. They spliced in an interview with him at FCW, where he talked about getting slapped by Vince and Stunned by Austin. They showed comments from talking heads as well as training footage from Tough Enough. Kinda surprised they even bothered with this.

- Rey and Booker were backstage, where the wheel landed on Tornado Match. Booker wished Rey luck, then welcomed Diamond Dallas Page into the Roulette area. Page talked about the Best of Nitro DVD and reminisced about his giving Jeff Jarrett the Diamond Cutter in a Triple Cage. Drew McIntyre walked up and talked about how he’s the future and Booker and DDP are washed up and to make room for him. He got nailed by someone off-camera, and Shawn Michaels walked in after giving the superkick. Michaels asked for the DVD and said he had never seen any of Nitro, but he bets it’s good.

- Next, Alex Riley and Rey Mysterio against The MIz and Jack Swagger, Tornado Match rules.

[Commercial Break]

(6) The Miz & Jack Swagger vs. Alex Riley & Rey Mysterio – Tornado Match

I always thought Tornado tags were underused. And apparently, it’s just a “tornado match” not “tornado tag.” Clothesline on Rey by Miz, then on Miz by Riley, then on Riley by Swagger. Swagger had his way with Rey in the ring while Miz and Riley were on the outside. Rey gave Swagger a seated senton on the floor and Riley met Miz on the top rope. He hip-tossed Miz down and to the mat, getting a near-fall. They went to break at 2:41 of the match,

[Commercial Break]

Back at 5:56 of the contest with Swagger and Miz standing over a fallen Riley. Riley tried to get back in it with a roll-up. Only two. Swagger caught Mysterio coming off the top and dropped him ribs-first across the knee of Miz. Crowd it hot. They chanted “619” as Miz and Swagger controlled both opponents in opposite corners. Short DDT by Miz on Rey. Rey kicked out at two. Riley dumped Swagger over the top rope and to the floor, which is where Riley found himself after Miz kicked him in the face. Rey went to the top and landed the seated senton, then caused Swagger and Miz to collide. Riley low-bridged Swagger out of the ring and Rey kicked Miz in the head for a two-count. Rey went for the 619 but Swagger tripped him and pulled him out of the ring. Riley ran in and gave Swagger a spinebuster for a two-count, broken up by Riley. Riley clotheslined Miz over the top (which Miz telegraphed, as usual) and went out with him. Swagger nailed Rey with a boot but for only a two-count. Mysterio countered the gutwrench, but Swagger countered the 619 and grabbed an ankle for the ankle-lock. Riley took out Miz, who interfered, and sent him throat-first into the guardrail. 619 on Rey, jumping DDT by Riley, then a splash off the top by Rey for the pinfall win.

Winners: Rey and Riley, at 11:43. Fun, exciting match because of the stipulations and hot crowd.

- The aired a clip of MacMillan River Adventures, with Shawn Michaels. It’s tomorrow night on the Outdoor Channel.

- R-Truth was backstage in the Roulette room talking to himself. Booker interrupted him and told him to spin the wheel. Truth looked it over for conspiracies, then spun. Tables match. “Truth is…I can dig that” said Truth. Truth said Cena is gonna get got tonight. Then he turned to the side and continued talking to his imaginary friend. Booker told him to leave because he’s scaring him. Booker ended up leaving instead.

[Commercial Break]

- They showed some exterior shots of Las Vegas as Cole shilled for USA Network’s “Necessary Roughness,” a preview of which follows Raw.

(7) R-Truth vs. John Cena – Tables Match

As the bell sounded, Lawler reminisced about Cena losing a Tables match to Sheamus in a previous life. Good call-back there. Dueling Cena-related chants by the fans. Suplex by Cena and both men were down. Cena went outside to grab a table but Truth got to him before Cena could get one. Truth worked the back and shoulders of Cena in the ring. Cena powered out of it and dropkicked Truth down. At under two minutes, both men were selling like they were 10 minutes into a match. Suplex into a jaw-breaker by Truth. Truth got a table and set it up in the corner of the ring. Cena countered a Truth suplexed and took him down with one of his own. Cena tossed Truth outside, then into the steel steps. Cena retrieved a table and put it in the ring. Not sure why, since it would’ve saved time to just get the one that was in the ring and set it back upright. Cena set up for an Attitude Adjustment through a table, but CM Punk ran out and tipped the table over. Cena went outside to brawl with Punk. They came back in brawling and Truth charged at the two men. Punk side-stepped it and Truth speared Cena through the table he had set up in the corner.

Winner: Truth, at 5:11.

Punk grabbed a mic and walked to the top of the ramp. He told Cena that he hopes he’s comfortable in the ring like that. He said he likes Cena a lot more than he likes many in the back, but he hates the idea that Cena is “the best.” Because he’s not – Punk is, and he’s the best in the world. But Cena is better at kissing Vince McMahon’s ass. He said Cena is as good at that as Hulk Hogan was, and maybe even “Dwayne.” Then Punk admitted he was breaking the fourth wall and waved to the camera. Punk said he was the best wrestler when he walked into the company, but Paul Heyman saw something in him when he walked in. Punk admitted he’s a Heyman guy, as is Brock Lesnar, and he split too. Punk talked about all of Vince McMahon’s imaginary brass rings and how he’s left behind when it comes to WWE’s marketing (not in any of USA’s crappy shows, in any movies, on souvenir cups, or even in the opening of the show). Punk said the fact that “Dwayne” is in the main event of Wrestlemania next year and he’s not makes him sick. Punk said those cheering him now are as big a part of him leaving as anyone else, because they’re the ones buying the merchandise that his face isn’t on, then bother him at 5am at the airport for an autograph they’ll sell on Ebay. Punk said maybe he’ll take the title to New Japan or ROH. Then he said hi to Colt Cabana. He said Vince surrounds himself with yes-men like John Laurinaitis, and after Vince dies, the company won’t be any better off because his stupid daughter and doofus son-in-law will take over. He wanted to address the bullying campaign, but his mic shut off. Punk was yelling at the camera as the show suddenly cut out. I liked it!

That promo. Was. Money. Money MONEY.

Money.

Incredible.

If there was adjectives to describe it more, I'd use them. But I can't right now.

He really is the best in the world, and he proved it again.

That Tornado Tag was pretty awesome as well, hot crowd. And I like the Cara/Bourne match.

But that promo.

Money.

I know it's a work. Or it's a worked shoot. The fact I post here would mean I have a huge build up of cynicism for things that show up on WWE television.

I got sucked it anyway.

He is the best.

I love CM Punk doing the Brian Pillman thing, but I hate that they still have David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty running out there with him like a pair of dorks. Either unofficially break up Thou Nexus or give them ten seconds of airtime to wonder what life is going to be like without their revered leader.

Right this moment, Colt Cabana is trending on Twitter (but CM Punk is not).

Overall the best RAW in weeks...not a dud match, save Kelly/Bella. They finally found a role that Booker does best - game show host! And Punk unleashed...outstanding.

And I don't believe I've ever seen anyone bring the cage door INSIDE a cage before.

I guess they didn't want to call it a Texas Tornado match, since they were in Vegas.

and if you're going to break the fourth wall, you might as well say you're doing it.

I was wondering why the copyright notice went up at the top of the hour. Now I know. What a FANTASTIC damn promo. And the tornado tag match was pretty great too. Hell, it was just a good Raw all the way through.

Punk gave the promo equivalent of The Nexus destroying the RAW set a year ago. Doesn't matter if it's a work; his words reflected the time-worn attitude of a whole lot of angry, disenfranchised people.

Counting the hours and minutes until the whole thing including what was said after the fade to black is on YouTube.

By the way: Kofi had a Player's Choice match and chose not to ask for the IC Title on the line. He's a lousy player.

Cole and Lawler must find calling Sin Cara matches easy: All of his moves are called "What the hell was that?!"

I have to admit, I'm enjoying the Jurassic Park Holy Shit! stunts between Mark Henry and Big Show.

Finally, Kelly Kelly used both the Lion Tamer into the Walls of Jericho to make Nikki Bella tap! Either she's been watching tapes of Jericho's matches or she didn't know how to execute the move without it actually really hurting Nikki. Who cares? She's a Sexy Beast!

Late last night, Chris Jericho Tweeted:

@IAmJericho Chris Jericho
Just to clarify, that was NOT me against Nikki Bella on Raw tonight....

Followed by:

@thebellatwins The Bella Twins
It wasn't ? :/ “@IAmJericho: Just to clarify, that was NOT me against Nikki Bella tonight...”

Just when my interest in Wrestling was at an all-time low C.M Punk cuts the best promo since well I don't know when but that was incredible. I laughed my ass off when he said hi to Colt Cabana. This was the best worked shoot promo as there's been since Heyman went off of McMahon before the '01 Survivor Series. Punk is so fucking awesome.

haha that was something. aw man I wanted to hear the Vince bullying story. If they really want to buzz the internet he should've said TNA and Benoit.

He should've plugged Colt's podcast while he was at it. It's a life podcast, a personal journal, etc.

Word from the arena is the GM announced CM Punk was suspended after they went off the air.

If the WWE were REALLY trying, they would make sure that THEIR "official" clips all faded early and that all the UHD replays fade early. I'm not sure the folks who handle this stuff can work on the same page as Punk, however.

A very good raw with a LOT OF WRESTLING with a hot crowd. What the bummer is about it, is that next weeks Raw is being taped right now. And Shawn Michaels didn't over shadow the show. A candidate for one of the best Raws of the year,

Do you think the point of Punk wearing the Austin shirt was his way of letting us know this is leading to a Punk vs. McMahon and everyone else situation like for Austin in 97/98? I really want to see where they're going with this.

The only complaint about that awesome segment was that Cena recovered in the middle of Punk's rant and just kinda sat there instead of trying to interupt or run at him. (Glad he didn't though...)

About the only way that could have been better is if Punk really did pull a Pillman and get himself fired for real by insulting a sponsor.

I think he was teasing the Austin/Punk match that people have speculated about. He alluded to basically every Punk's Contract rumor since the spring (mad about not being one of the marketed guys, not on the poster, etc).
